Chapter 79 - CHAPTER 79

c79: Frieza Attacks

In the Milky Way Galaxy, a massive spacecraft sped through the stars, its dark hull reflecting the light of distant suns as it closed in on Earth.

"L–Lord Frieza, do we truly intend to go to Earth... to take revenge on those Saiyans?"

Sorbet asked cautiously, glancing nervously at the figure seated on the throne.

"What? Are you questioning me?"

Frieza opened his crimson eyes, glaring coldly at Sorbet.

An intense killing intent filled the air, pressing down on everyone aboard.

For four long months, Frieza had endured relentless training after his resurrection. The humiliation of his defeat still burned deep within him. Each time he recalled the agony he had suffered in Hell surrounded by angelic creatures singing endlessly his fury toward the Saiyans only grew.

"L–Lord Frieza, I wouldn't dare! I only wish to report... a few important matters that occurred while you were gone."

Sorbet bowed deeply, trembling under the suffocating pressure.

Although every instinct told him to dissuade Frieza from going to Earth, he knew that any direct opposition would only lead to death. His only hope was to report the intel he had gathered from across the galaxy, so that Frieza would at least understand the dangers ahead.

"Oh? Then speak. If what you say proves useless, I'll remember to erase you later."

Frieza's killing aura receded slightly, and he rested his chin on his hand.

Sorbet swallowed hard. "During your absence, those Saiyans from Earth easily defeated Majin Buu!"

Frieza raised an eyebrow, unimpressed. "Majin Buu? The one my father, King Cold, warned us not to provoke? Hmph... interesting."

Sorbet continued nervously, "And... and a few months ago, Lord Beerus the God of Destruction of Universe 7 also visited Earth. But I heard... he was defeated by a Saiyan named Lin Hao."

"Nani?!" Frieza's tail lashed violently, cracking the metal floor beneath his throne. "Beerus, the God of Destruction... defeated?! Are you certain it was that Saiyan Lin Hao?"

Although Frieza didn't fully understand Beerus's power, he knew from his father's warnings that Beerus ranked among the most terrifying beings in existence one whose anger could annihilate an entire galaxy in a breath.

The thought that a mere Saiyan could defeat him was unthinkable. It had to be false information.

"I–I'm not sure, my lord," Sorbet stammered, drenched in sweat. "This information spread through the Galactic Patrol and several mercenary networks, but it may well be exaggerated. Still... just in case, perhaps we should"

"Enough." Frieza's voice was calm, but his eyes gleamed with lethal coldness.

Sorbet knew that in the past, Frieza had specifically ordered his army never to provoke Majin Buu or Beerus. Even the mighty Cold Empire had always steered clear of such beings. Both King Cold and Cooler had been warned repeatedly Beerus was a god whose mood alone could decide life or death for an entire race.

And yet, the beings their clan had always feared most had reportedly fallen to Saiyans. Could the same monkeys who once trembled before Frieza truly have reached such heights?

Frieza sat in silence for a long moment, his sharp claws tapping rhythmically on his throne. The metallic clicks echoed through the chamber.

Then a cruel smile crept across his face. "So... the Saiyans have grown strong enough to challenge even gods? Excellent. That means destroying them will be far more satisfying."

Sorbet hesitated, misunderstanding Frieza's silence as contemplation. "L–Lord Frieza, perhaps we should rest first... maybe even resurrect your father, King Cold. If the legends are true, with his power and yours combined, our chances"

Frieza cut him off, his voice icy. "No need. Do you truly believe I, Emperor Frieza, require assistance to crush a few Saiyan monkeys? Continue toward Earth. I will not repeat myself."

Sorbet flinched and bowed deeply. "Y–Yes, Lord Frieza!"

He turned away, trembling, and issued the command to accelerate toward Earth. He had done all he could. If Frieza refused to listen, then all that awaited them on Earth might be disaster.

Meanwhile, back on Earth in West City.

"This evil ki... it's Frieza," Lin Hao muttered, pausing mid-bite as the familiar, malevolent aura surged across the atmosphere.

"Huh? What's wrong, honey? Is the food not good?" asked Android 18, looking at him curiously.

You could hardly blame anyone for staring in the years since the Buu incident, Android 18's charm had only deepened. Her golden hair and calm beauty were irresistible, though Lin Hao's "care" might have had something to do with that.

Lin Hao smiled faintly. "No, the food's great. It's just that an old... acquaintance has arrived. Looks like things are about to get interesting."

"A familiar person?" Lin Yi, Lin Hao's son looked up from his bowl. "What kind of show are you talking about, Dad? Is someone you know coming over?"

Lin Hao chuckled lightly. "You could say that. We're... very familiar. After all, he's someone I personally sent to the afterlife once."

He looked out the window toward the sky, his expression calm but his eyes sharp with anticipation.

Far beyond Earth's atmosphere, a golden glint flickered through the void the return of Emperor Frieza. The battle that would shake the heavens was about to begin.
