Chapter 44: Shocked Everyone
"Whoosh…"
Super Omega Shenron twisted his massive body and shot upward, narrowly evading Lin Hao's initial strike. His form reappeared high above, suspended in mid-air with his arms folded arrogantly.
"Pathetic. Your speed means nothing to me now. You can't even lay a finger on me!"
His crimson eyes glared down with disdain, convinced Lin Hao's Super Saiyan 2 power was beneath him.
"Is that so?" Lin Hao replied coldly. "Seems like you've gotten overconfident after your so-called upgrade. In that case… I'll stop holding back."
He knew full well that Super Saiyan 2 wouldn't be enough against a monster who had absorbed all seven Dragon Balls. Lin Hao had wanted to test his limits in this state, but now it was clear only a higher transformation would level the battlefield.
His body stiffened as he prepared to ascend. The Super Saiyan 3 form, infamous for its monstrous power and brutal energy drain, loomed in his mind. But unlike Goku, Lin Hao's stamina was limitless. That drawback meant nothing to him.
"AHHHH!!"
A guttural roar tore from his throat. Golden aura erupted outward like a tidal wave, sparks of silver lightning dancing violently around his body. The sheer shockwave blasted the earth beneath his feet, sending stones and debris flying in all directions.
"RUMMMBLE!"
The sky seemed to darken under the storm of energy as Lin Hao's hair rapidly lengthened, flowing past his waist. His brows vanished, leaving his eyes sharp and predatory, the very essence of Super Saiyan 3.
"This… this is Super Saiyan Three?!" Vegeta's pupils shrank. He remembered his own battle against Lin Hao, when he had felt traces of this power before. But this aura this pressure was on a completely different level.
"Incredible…" Goku whispered, equally stunned. "That ki is overwhelming. If this is just his Super Saiyan 3… then his Super Saiyan 4 must be beyond imagination!"
"D-damn, he's a monster," Gohan muttered in awe. "Even as a Saiyan myself, I can't compare to this kind of power…" Pan clutched Goten's arm, wide-eyed, as the others stared at Lin Hao's surging energy in disbelief.
"Tch… damn it!" Omega Shenron's mocking grin faltered. His red eyes narrowed dangerously. "This earthling's power… it's actually higher than mine?!" The negative dragon could feel it clearly Lin Hao's ki dwarfed his own. He had swallowed the Dragon Balls, consumed the abilities of his brethren, and yet here stood a warrior whose aura pressed against him like a mountain.
Lin Hao smirked. "What's the matter, Omega Shenron? You look nervous. If you're that scared, you might as well destroy yourself and save me the effort."
His aura flared even brighter, the ground cracking under the weight of his energy. His current strength exceeded Omega Shenron's by nearly 200 trillion. Lin Hao knew he could finish the dragon instantly. But quick death would be merciful. No—he wanted Omega Shenron broken, humiliated, and crushed slowly.
"Hmph!" Omega Shenron snarled, forcing his confidence back. "Don't get arrogant just because you powered up! I admit you surprised me, but defeating me won't be so easy!" His body crackled with malicious energy.
"Shadow Dragon Thunder Shock!"
A jagged bolt of lightning ripped from his claws, striking down toward Lin Hao. It was Rage Shenron's inherited technique after absorbing the Dragon Balls, Omega had gained the abilities of every Shadow Dragon.
"CRACK!"
The lightning slammed into Lin Hao's body. But Lin Hao stood unmoved, his expression unchanging, his golden aura shielding him like an unbreakable wall. He didn't even flinch.
"Pathetic. If you can't break through my defense, you're nothing more than a barking lizard."
Omega Shenron's face twisted with fury. He spread his wings and slashed outward.
"GLACIER WIND VACUUM SLASH!!"
Blades of frozen wind Eis Shenron's deadly technique hurtled toward Lin Hao with enough force to slice through steel.
Super Omega Shenron sneered and stretched out his arms.
"Oceanus Shenron's Ultimate Gale!"
A violent hurricane exploded from his body. The winds were razor-sharp, carrying the destructive edge of countless blades as they ripped toward Lin Hao.
"Qiang! Qiang! Qiang!"
The ground split apart in deep scars wherever the currents struck, while massive slabs of rock were sliced to dust. Dust storms engulfed the battlefield, blotting out the horizon.
Yet Lin Hao stood tall amidst the storm. His golden aura rippled faintly, forming a seamless barrier. No matter how violently the winds slashed at him, they failed to even graze his skin.
"W-what?!" Omega Shenron's face twisted in disbelief. "Oceanus Shenron's cutting winds can shred steel towers like paper… and yet they can't even pierce your body?!"
What he didn't know was that Lin Hao had shaped his ki into a transparent armor—a natural barrier. Unless the opponent's raw energy surpassed his own, such attacks would never break through.
"Pathetic," Lin Hao's voice cut through the storm, cold and sharp. "If you're only going to flail around with borrowed tricks, you'll never scratch me. Show your real power, or I'll end this before you realize it's over."
The taunt ignited Omega Shenron's fury. His crimson eyes glowed brighter as he clenched his fangs.
"You dare… look down on me?! Fine then burn to ash!"
"WHOOSH!"
His body blazed red, his pale form now glowing like molten iron. The temperature skyrocketed instantly he was channeling Nuova Shenron's solar technique, mimicking the surface of a star. The air warped around him, shimmering under the heat.
The battlefield turned into a furnace. The temperature soared past thousands of degrees, and even the ground began to liquefy. Distant skyscrapers bent as glass cracked and steel twisted under the heat.
"Ghh…" Gohan staggered, sweat pouring down his face. Beside him, Pan and Goten shielded their eyes, their bodies trembling as the suffocating heat wrapped around them. Even their ki barriers strained under the overwhelming temperature.
"Back off, all of you!" Goku barked, his expression stern. "This is Nuova's technique. Only those of us who've fought it before can withstand it!" He remembered their earlier clash vividly.Nuova's flames had forced him to his limits even as a Super Saiyan 4.
"Got it, Dad!" Gohan shouted back, grabbing Pan as he and the others launched themselves into the sky, retreating toward the ruins of a distant tower.
The air boiled. Omega Shenron's burning fist rocketed toward Lin Hao like a meteor, carrying the fury of a sun.
Lin Hao's eyes flashed dangerously. "Finally… a real strike. I've waited for this!"
His own golden aura surged, condensing tightly around his arm as he clenched his fist. In a blur, he launched forward to meet Omega's attack head-on.
"BOOOOM!"
The instant their fists collided, the earth screamed. A deafening shockwave ripped outward, splitting the land beneath them. Cracks tore across the battlefield, glowing scarlet as magma burst from the ruptured crust.
The ground heaved violently, entire sections collapsing as the pressure spread outward.
It was already known that Earth's stability had been unraveling since the Shadow Dragons appeared, poisoned by the negative energy. But now, the impact of these two titans colliding accelerated its destruction. With just a few more blows like that, the planet itself could crumble into ruin.
