Mia lay on the infirmary bed, her complexion pale but not as it was earlier, her breathing has now improved, shallow but steady. The venom that had invaded her system was interrupted by the vile the headmistress gave her, weakening her with each passing moment. Every muscle ached, and the memory of how that happened haunted her: the way the food had looked normal, the way she had eaten oblivious, only for her body to betray her afterward.
