"Dear brother, I say we torture her first before killing her. We must make an example out of her. To show the other 'blood-pets' of what happens to those who disobey us. To understand their position as lowly cattle whose only purpose is to serve us."
The red-eyed male on the right smiled, eyes gleaming with twisted malice.
"I have a few ideas on how we should torture her." In his hand was a silver dagger that he twirled. "Besides, she must pay for what she did to our beloved little pet, who is still in recovery."
The cruel vampire smiled, and in the blink of an eye, the dagger in his hand was hurled at Sasha. A thin slice cut her left cheek that began to bleed.
'I can't believe this!' Sasha screamed in her head.
'The idea was completely absurd, but it was the only thing that made sense: I've somehow transmigrated into that horrible dark-romance web novel, Bloody Kiss. Making the matter worse, these two red-eyed beasts before me were none other than the male-leads, the Iron Enforcer, and the Bloody Mad Killer. The twin vampire kings who ruled the Court of Dusk.'
Sasha eyed the two shadows glaring down upon her.
'One bad review and I transmigrated into this hellhole?!' Sasha was still in shock.
Before she could dive deeper into her rant, the doors behind her cracked open.
A burst of light spilled into the chamber, allowing Sasha a better view of those figures lounging in their ornate thrones and sofas.
Just as the book had described them: human figures with a sinister, unearthly beauty and pointed ears.
Jewels decorated their hands and throats, their garments cut from fabric so rich they looked magical.
Each was tailored to fit their individual taste and style.
"Elena, what are you doing up?" A cold voice tinged with worry came from a brooding male with silver hair, seated to the left.
He matched the book description of himself: a strikingly handsome man with broad shoulders and a strong build that radiated a commanding presence.
'This man was definitely Cassius, one of the twin kings of the Court of Dusk. The Iron Enforcer. The one who lives to uphold the rules and punish anyone, especially humans, who dare to break them.
His short silvery hair caught the light like moonlight, framing a face so perfect it was hard to believe that it was real.
Sharp brows shadowed eyes the color of fresh blood, and were locked onto Sasha.
'It's like staring into a guillotine.' Beads of sweat dripped down Sasha's forehead.
One glance was enough to make her shiver. The authoritative aura he radiated was cold and merciless.
'He reminded me of those cold-blooded CEOs from every billionaire romance I've read. The ones with the sharp suits and an even sharper tongue. Except Cassius didn't need a suit to cut someone down.'
Sasha eyed the figure of the man, who no longer existed in mere pages of a book, but was now in the actual flesh.
'His words and aura alone could bring a stronger man to his knees. Unlike his crazy twin brother, the story had always painted him as the 'mature' one. The one to end your life swiftly, rather than drag it out.'
"Little Bird, you should be resting, not interrupting a soon-to-be execution."
The one speaking this time wasn't Cassius but his twin, who sat opposite him.
His voice carried a scolding tone filled with evident concern.
He was just as breathtaking as his brother, though, while Cassius's looks were sharper and less expressive.
His twin brother had more boyish charm, which made him appear younger, despite being born only seconds after him.
The softer lines on his face gave him almost an innocent and friendly look. His hair set him apart even more, being longer and two-toned.
One half was obsidian black. The other side was a gleaming silver. The colors were divided evenly down the middle.
Though they shared the same blood red eyes, his glittered with mischief and a craving for chaos.
Sasha knew that despite his easy-going persona and looks.
'He was not to be underestimated.'
'After all, he didn't earn the nickname, the 'Bloody Mad Killer', without reason. Bran, Cassius's twin brother, served as the Court of Dusk's second King.'
Sasha felt her pulse quicken, knowing that, unlike his levelheaded brother. Bran didn't need a reason to strike someone down.
'He'll do it just for the fun of it.'
Sasha was a bit more afraid of Bran than she was of Cassius, for the sole reason that Cassius ended his enemies' lives quickly.
But Bran took pleasure in dragging out their pain.
"Our king's little pet is here to make yet another scene. I wonder what fun entertainment she'll bring this time."
A voice, lilting yet dripping with ridicule, belonged to a young-looking woman.
Unlike the others, she didn't have pointy ears, but something about her didn't scream human. Her skin was a peerless porcelain, her face as delicate as a doll.
Silk raven hair, styled into pigtails, framed her cruel smile. A ruffled headpiece sat upon her head.
The girl wore a short black goth dress that clung to her petite frame. A leather corset cinched her waist.
Silver chains dangled from her waist and were adorned with silver crosses.
'So she is Lulubell. I always wondered how she looked in person.'
Sasha remembered reading about Lulubell, a minor character whose background was never revealed but always hinted at being powerful.
Petty, sharp jabs, and mean pranks would summarize Lulubell as a character.
Her main target would always be Elena, who was often left in tears anytime Lulubell would poke fun at her spineless and weak characteristics.
'Not like she was lying.'
Sasha thought back on Lulubell's character and realized why she could be harsh with her words.
She never spoke lies, which was probably why she was one of the few characters she could tolerate.
Lulubell was cuddled up against a female vampire, who affectionately patted her head.
The older woman radiated a seductive elegance, watching the scene before her with a smile as though this entire scene was nothing more than a performance for her amusement.
Reclining upon her personal cushioned couch, she was draped in an elaborate powder blue and violet gown.
The high slits on the side showed off her long, shapely legs. Her ample figure was framed by her long, cherry blossom pink hair, which spilled down her waist in thick curls.
Her neck, hands, and fingers were adorned with sparkling flower-shaped jewels, accentuating her noble status and power.
'There was only one character Lulubell was close to.' Instantly, Sasha recognized this woman as Lulubell's lover, Cynthia.
In the book, it stated that Lulubell was utterly obsessed with the woman and how she was the only one who could control Lulubell when she got out of control.
A mature beauty, Cynthia could bewitch numerous men with just a smile. Aside from her looks, Cynthia was no forgettable side character.
The current head of the Flower Moon Clan, which served as one of the four oldest and noblest vampire families that served the Court of Dusk.
She was also one of the king's trusted advisors.
In the book, Cynthia's character rarely appeared, keeping to herself most of the time, and when she did, it was at the king's side as they voiced their decree.
Sasha stiffened as the footstep from behind got closer. She had feelings about who they belonged to, and sure enough, the star of the stage made her grand appearance.
Just the sight of her nearly made Sasha swear out loud.
'Just when I thought my situation couldn't improve, the ditzy female lead finally appeared.'
From her position, Sasha could see nothing but the woman's back.
Platinum white hair flowed straight down a slender back, gleaming like pure snow. Her gown was no less striking than the noble female vampires in the room—an extravagant creation of white silk.
Soft and Decadent.
Nothing like the coarse cotton and latex threads, other 'blood-pets' were forced to wear.
When it came to the female lead, the author poured everything into this character.
Elena was designed to be beautiful - so beautiful that it could rival the vampires, despite being human.
It was this beauty that first caught the twin brother's attention, and every time Elena appeared.
The author would heap praise upon her.
So when that face finally turned to look at Sasha.
She couldn't help but be taken aback.
The novel description flashed in her head: like a moon goddess having descended into this world.
And upon seeing Elena in the flesh, Sasha realized just how accurate those words were.
