Chapter 11: Is Super Saiyan 2 This Strong?
On King Kai's planet,
Trunks and Goku were staring at each other while floating in the sky.
They took a battle stance and prepared to start the fight that would determine Goku's fate.
"Give me your best, Trunks."
"Don't go easy on me, Uncle… because I'll show you the true power of a Saiyan."
Below, King Kai felt as if he was looking at a smaller version of Vegeta's pride.
On the side, Goten was watching Trunks confidently, hoping he would defeat Goku and force him to return to life.
"Haah!"
With a loud scream, the fight began, and Trunks launched ki attacks at an astonishing speed.
Goku dodged all of them with ease, and seeing that, Trunks smiled.
"Using the Prince's strategy…"
Saying this, Trunks increased the speed of his ki spheres, as well as their power and number.
Within seconds, the sky was filled with red ki spheres, and Goku was surrounded from all directions, under pressure from Trunks' attacks.
"Prepare… for your defeat!"
Trunks stopped firing ki attacks and began controlling all the ki spheres that Goku had avoided, attacking him with them all at once.
"Isn't this the same move Piccolo used…?"
Goku was surprised; he had seen Piccolo use this attack once, but never with such quantity or power.
Feeling imminent danger, Goku shouted and transformed into Super Saiyan form.
The golden aura erupted with immense force, making all the ki attacks surrounding Goku vanish instantly.
"Super Saiyan… huh?"
"Look, Trunks… this is the true power of a Saiyan."
Seeing Goku clench his fists with a smile, Trunks realized that Goku wanted him to witness even greater power, pushing him to train harder to become stronger.
"Super Saiyan 1… Uncle Goku, Super Saiyan is outdated; I'll show you now… Haaah!"
The electrified golden aura erupted around Trunks, and in an instant, Trunks was in Super Saiyan 2 form, surrounded by a fiery golden aura.
"You… Super Saiyan 2? You faced Earth's enemies without my knowledge?!"
Goku was shocked; achieving Super Saiyan 2 requires immense power and rage, usually triggered by the death of a loved one or facing a powerful enemy.
"I'll say it again… Uncle, show me your full power!"
Seeing Trunks' pride doubled in Super Saiyan 2, Goku's heart trembled, and he sighed with a smile.
"I haven't mastered this form yet, so I didn't want to use it… but clearly, I can still win even if I use Super Saiyan 2."
Trunks smiled without saying a word.
His enhanced mastery of Super Saiyan 2 easily surpassed a normal Super Saiyan 3, and Goku, who hadn't mastered Super Saiyan 3, didn't stand a chance.
This was why Trunks came to fight Goku.
He was confident that he could convince Goku to return to life, but he first wanted to defeat Goku and gain his skills and abilities.
Since Goku had Super Saiyan 3, Trunks was eager to gain a stepping stone toward Super Saiyan 4, Super Saiyan God, or even Blue.
"Get ready… Trunks!"
Trunks looked at Goku, who shouted, and then the golden aura around him intensified and grew denser, yet Trunks felt that this massive ki no longer only enhanced Goku's power—it was putting tremendous pressure on his body.
But since Goku was already dead, it didn't seem to affect him much; the effect might double once he returned to life.
The electrified golden aura surrounded Goku, his hair became sharper and longer, and his eyebrows completely disappeared.
The entire figure looked even more powerful and magnificent.
"Sorry for the delay… now let's finish this quickly."
Trunks nodded, knowing that Goku couldn't maintain Super Saiyan 3 for long.
The two of them launched punches at each other with such incredible speed that shockwaves shook the very void.
The yellow clouds began to vanish, and King Kai's planet slowly started to crumble.
Still, he didn't care; he could fix his planet later.
But it would be terrible if Trunks lost and missed his chance to return to life.
He could no longer endure the other Kais mocking him.
"Daah! Da da dadadadada…"
Goku was punching with insane speed and terrifying force, but Trunks, likewise, dodged and blocked the blows while landing successful attacks on Goku.
"Take this…"
Trunks dodged a punch and delivered a side kick, sending Goku flying.
"Tsssh… damn!"
After this exchange, Goku realized that Trunks was superior in speed and control.
After all, he was using Super Saiyan 2 flawlessly, unlike Goku, who had to rely on Super Saiyan 3, which was hard to control and unstable.
"I wanted a longer fight with you, Trunks, but this transformation drains my energy at a crazy rate… so…"
Goku looked at Trunks seriously, and Trunks smiled as usual.
They both took battle stances and began charging ki energy between their hands.
Trunks was about to use the Kamehameha as usual, but he thought to honor Vegeta and used his strongest move: Final Flash.
"This is for you, you stupid dad."
With that thought, Trunks charged all his energy into a golden Final Flash, looking at Goku, who charged the destructive energy of Super Saiyan 3 into a single Kamehameha.
Swallow!
Goten and King Kai below were tense from the terrifying amount of ki.
(Ki = energy = power)
"Haahhhh!"
With a deafening scream, both unleashed their attacks, and the golden and blue beams collided, causing a weather change despite the lack of weather in the Other World.
A thunderstorm erupted, and from afar, all creatures stared in terror at the being emitting such overwhelming energy.
"Soooon Goku…"
In Hell, Cell, Frieza, and other enemies of Goku watched in anger and fear at Goku's immense power.
Meanwhile, Trunks and Goku were giving everything they had to win the massive energy clash.
After a few seconds, Goku's eyes widened, feeling his energy nearly depleted; his time in Super Saiyan 3 was almost over.
So, with his last bit of strength, he controlled a wave of energy to try to deflect both his and Trunks' attacks upward.
Seeing this, Trunks understood that Goku didn't want the destructive wave to hit anyone else, knowing that they could destroy a large part of this world if they didn't control their power.
With a deep sigh, he also controlled his Final Flash and redirected it skyward.
"Trunks, you have excellent control over your timing."
Goku smiled as he returned to his normal form, appearing exhausted and weak.
Below, Goten and King Kai were completely shocked.
Did Goku just lose while in Super Saiyan 3 against Super Saiyan 2?
