The private jet took off, and Valentina released the breath she was holding in.
"Isn't this exactly like how we met?" Julien, seated next to her, asked.
She forced a smile as she turned to his side. "Except we weren't in a private jet."
"Yeah, exactly that. That was what was missing. Champagne?"
"Isn't it too early for that?"
"Oh come on!" He groaned. "Remember we used to drink wine for breakfast? The Italians are not boring people so it's not like they've corrupted and converted your palate?"
She smiled with her eyes so it would appear more convincing.
"I'd rather water."
"Or a cup of coffee?"
"I vaguely remember someone telling me not to take coffee offered to me in Italian aircrafts. I wonder who it was." She pretended to concentrate on her thoughts.
Julien laughed. "Fine, you win. But technically, this is a french jet."
"Boarded by a Spaniard prince. I mean you are still a prince right?"
He laughed harder, throwing his head back.
