"How could you all not know something was amiss? Did you not sense it? Did you not fucking sense it?!" Julien screamed at the top of his voice, as the guards that arrived tried to break him free of the cords tied all over his body.
"There was a device of some sort, Prince Julien. It traps noise. We didn't hear a gunshot. Nothing felt amiss. I thought the guards around were doing their jobs. I'm sorry for how it–"
"What's there to be sorry about? It's not your fault that you were all outsmarted, right?" He scoffed
The cords came off just as the latest comer walked into the room, amusement dancing in his eyes.
Slowly, Julien rose to his feet.
"You think this is a joke?" He asked, giving the man a scrutinizing once-over.
"If it was, then there's only one person laughing, and it's Luciano De Luca. Leave me alone with the prince. I think your job is done here," the man commanded the security guards around.
They didn't leave, but all turned to Julien for confirmation.
