Vittorio stared daggers at him, waiting for Luciano to explain his presence, whilst hoping to God he continued to believe what he believed, regardless of how humiliating it was.
"Fine, I'll stop mocking now. I actually came to ask if you've seen Elio. The boy has been very withdrawn recently."
"Marce was telling Salva that he spends his evenings running around the field as if he's training for some war. You may find him there."
Luciano sighed. "He's hurting isn't he?"
"He's your lamb. Maybe it's time for you to find out."
He nodded his head in understanding. "You're right. Thanks man." He walked up to him, and tapped his arms with a friendly tap.
He was almost out of the door when he turned his head behind. "How about Celia? She is very—"
"Please get the fuck out of my room, Luciano!" Vittorio stepped out of character and raised his voice.
Luciano burst out laughing, as he walked away.
He felt good. For the first time in a very long time, he laughed heartily.
