The days were a blend of darkness and sorrows for Natalia Esposito.

But when she heard footsteps around her door, she sniffled, and wiped off her face with a finger.
Her head moved behind to find Vittorio Moretti standing at the door, watching her like she had been watching her reflection in the mirror.
"Hey," he said when she caught his gaze.
"Any news about Valentina yet?"
He shook his head, feeling sorry that he had to be the bearer of bad news.
"Unfortunately, no. She doesn't want to be found."
