Chapter 44 - Ch.44

At the amusement park, it wasn't just rides and games; there were also various vendors selling souvenirs! The number of visitors grew, especially in the evening, making the atmosphere even more lively.

May's eyes were dazzled by all the souvenirs. "This is so cute!" she said, stopping at a stall to look at an ornament made of seven connected stars.

"That's a talisman for the Millennium Comet, the 'Wish-Fulfilling Star'," the vendor said, laying it on thick to fool simple-hearted people like May. "It's also called the 'Star of the Seven Nights.' During the seven days that you can see the Millennium Comet, you wish for something every night and fold in a star. When the seven nights are over, your wish is guaranteed to come true!"

If that trinket could grant wishes, what would the mythical Jirachi be for?

(?>?<?) May was clearly taken in. "I want it! I have to buy this one."

The vendor had a bit of a conscience. After selling it to May, he left himself a way out: "Well, no guarantees, hahaha, but it's bound to come true!"

At that moment, the night sky began to bloom with beautiful Pokémon-themed fireworks—Pikachu, Torchic, and more!

Max was still holding the crystal. "Look! Fireworks! Jirachi, they're beautiful, aren't they?"

Late at night, the amusement park grew quiet, and the lights began to go out. Ash and his friends sat on a large rock, waiting for the Millennium Comet to arrive. A gentle breeze blew, the starry sky parted, and a silver streak with a long tail appeared.

"There it is, the Millennium Comet!" May exclaimed. "Ah! I have to make a wish quickly."

May immediately took out her Wish-Fulfilling Star, made a wish, and folded in a star-shaped petal.

"Once every thousand years, huh? We've really stumbled into a great time!" Ash said with a sigh. Or rather, Ash's main character aura is just too strong. Legendary Pokémon that only appear once a millennium show up as soon as Ash is present.

Suddenly, the purple crystal in Max's arms emitted a dazzling light. "The stars... the stars are calling me..." This time, it wasn't just Ash and Max who heard it.

"Was that Jirachi's voice just now?" May asked, surprised. So she's a pure-hearted girl too!

"It's telepathy! This is Jirachi's telepathy. It must be about to wake up now!" Ash said.

At the same time, deep in the distant Forina, the rocks began to glow with green light. The light surged out of Forina and sped toward Ash's location. A figure pursued the green light. The green light finally converged on the purple crystal.

In front of Ash and the others, the crystal's light grew more and more dazzling, floating into the air. In the white glow, many white lines extended out, and its form slowly changed.

As the white light faded, the crystal had become a mythical Pokémon shaped like a star, with a 'Wish Tag' on its head—Jirachi!

"Jirachi has awakened!" Ash said, thinking to himself, "The battle is about to begin, too!"

[Jirachi]

[Type: Steel, Psychic]

[Ability: Serene Grace (Doubles the chance of a move's secondary effects occurring)]

[Strength: Mythical (Weakened, Elite-level)]

Jirachi floated down. The white cloth that had been covering its body unfolded, trailing behind it, making it look incredibly cute.

Max quickly stepped forward and caught Jirachi. It slowly opened its eyes in his arms, looking confused at everything around it.

"This is Jirachi! It's so cute!" May was instantly captivated!

The group began to introduce themselves to Jirachi.

Just then, Diane ran over. After understanding the situation, she invited Ash and his friends to her trailer, then went to inform Butler!

When Butler got the news, he said, "This moment has finally arrived!" A crazed glint appeared in his eyes, which made Diane very uneasy.

Meanwhile, with Ash's group, "Jirachi, can you grant a wish for me?" Max looked at Jirachi with hopeful eyes!

"A wish?" Jirachi asked, confused.

So, Max made a simple, childlike wish—for an endless supply of snacks. Jirachi closed its eyes, floated up, and the 'Wish Tag' on its head glowed.

Bags of snacks appeared out of thin air, stunning everyone. The wish really came true! The group was surrounded by a sea of snacks!

As more and more snacks appeared, Ash quickly intervened. "Wait, Jirachi! Look at the labels on the snacks. They're all from the amusement park! Jirachi just moved them with its mind. We have to give them all back!"

"What?! No way!" Everyone was shocked. Brock looked carefully and saw that it was true. The group sadly climbed out of the sea of snacks. It turned out Jirachi didn't create them out of thin air; it was just a magical delivery service.

Max and May looked at Jirachi in disappointment. Jirachi blinked its cute, innocent eyes.

At the same time, Butler and Diane ran over. "My goodness! Where's Jirachi?" Butler asked nervously and anxiously.

"It's right here!" Max said, pointing to Jirachi, who also happily said, "Here!"

"What have you all been doing?" Diane asked, confused by the snacks around them.

The group had no choice but to explain the situation. Just as no one knew what to do, Brock suddenly said, "Why don't we just have Jirachi send everything back to where it came from?"

"Right! That's it! Jirachi, quickly, put everything back!" Max said to Jirachi excitedly.

Jirachi closed its eyes again, its 'Wish Tag' glowed, and it sent the snacks back.

"I'm so sleepy now..." Jirachi said, then closed its eyes and fell asleep in Max's arms.

(?﹏?) Max said, disappointed, "Is Jirachi going to sleep for another thousand years?"

Butler explained, "It won't sleep for another thousand years until after the seven days are up. For now, it's just a temporary rest after using its power."

Max breathed a sigh of relief. "Oh, that's great!"

The next day, as the knight in shining armor for love, Brock came to ask Ash and May for their help with Butler and Diane. Unfortunately, Ash had already taken May to the amusement park early in the morning.

"Ash, is it really okay that we didn't tell Brock and them we were going to the amusement park to play?" May asked, worried.

"Based on what I know about Brock, sigh~" Ash said as he walked, then suddenly stopped. "Look at that!"

May followed Ash's gaze and saw Brock in a clown costume handing out flyers.

"Oh! Good thing we ran fast, or we'd have been finished!" May said, patting her chest in relief. How could a beautiful day be spent as free labor? May's conscience was now clear!

"Pika~" Pikachu imagined himself in a clown suit and shook his head, unable to bear the thought.

Just then, Max came over with Jirachi on his head. "Ah! Ash, Sister! You're here. Brock was looking for you earlier!" Hearing Max, they knew that Brock's intentions weren't good. Ash also noticed that Jirachi had recovered its strength to "Gym Leader-level."

The three of them had a wonderful day playing, while Brock, putting in effort for love, spent the whole day handing out flyers.

During dinner, Ash and May could clearly feel Brock's immense resentment. His resentful eyes were fixed on them, making them eat faster.

After Butler's magic show, Ash and the others helped to pack up the props. May was pushing a scaffold backstage when she tripped over a piece of wood. May quickly held on to the scaffold. "Ah! Max, hurry, come help!"

Max quickly put down what was in his hands and ran to help May hold the scaffold up. The two of them pushed together, trying to straighten it. Just then, Jirachi, feeling playful, took off Max's glasses and ran. Max let go of the scaffold and chased after it.

Poor May was left alone and couldn't hold the scaffold up by herself. Luckily, Ash arrived just in time and grabbed it.

"Phew! Thanks, Ash!" May sighed in relief.

"No problem!" Ash waved his hand.

"Over here... over here..."

"Jirachi, give them back!"

Max and Jirachi were still playing their game of chase. Suddenly, Max had an epiphany: "You're not getting away, Jirachi! Got you!"

"Max caught me!" Jirachi said happily.

Max put on his glasses and looked at Jirachi with a mock-angry expression. "Now I'm gonna get you!"

"Woof!" Bang! A mirror suddenly shattered, and a Pokémon with white fur and a scythe-like horn on the right side of its head appeared from behind the mirror!
