Zander's POV
I was watching everything we'd fought for fall when my own pack turned against me.
The System's reveal that there was no real escape - only different cages - had shattered something in all of us. But while Kira was exploring shadow-spaces and Jake was trying to understand the cosmic consequences, I had a more immediate problem.
My pack was falling apart.
"This has gone too far, Alpha," my beta Sarah said, stepping between me and the fictional refugees we'd been defending. "We need to send them back to their stories before we all get erased."
"Send them back to what?" I asked. "Those stories are broken now. There's nothing left to go back to."
"Then let them figure out their own solutions," Sarah shot back. "Our first duty is to our own pack, not to every fictional character who wants freedom."
