"DXD: Transfer Student"Chapter 220: Quintuplet Girlfriend Happiness
Friday came in a blink.
Once everything was squared away, Draconis Yi said his goodbyes to Rias and the others, ready to keep his promise.
The news that he'd be spending the weekend with the quintuplets didn't go over easily. Rias, in particular, struggled with the idea—she'd grown so used to having him nearby that even two days apart felt like an eternity.
"Don't stay away too long, okay?"
Her tone was serious, but Akeno couldn't help but snicker from the sidelines.
Draconis Yi remembered other nights he hadn't come home—Rias would toss and turn, sleepless and restless, hooked on his presence like an addiction.
He hugged everyone goodbye, lingering with Rias for a slow, deep kiss before heading out.
The rendezvous point was still the quintuplets' new apartment. This time, they'd rented a car for the trip.
"I'll cover the fare," Draconis Yi said as Ichika reached for her wallet.
"Eh? No need—we all chipped in for this," Ichika protested, showing him the travel fund the sisters had pooled together.
Nino chimed in, one eye closed in a playful wink.
"Don't underestimate us. We've all got jobs now."
Draconis Yi smiled. "I know. But let me treat you."
He understood their situation—Ichika's acting gigs paid decently, and the others had found work, but rent and living costs weighed heavy. Every yen counted.
He turned to Ichika, voice gentle.
"Most of your acting jobs are just high-paying gigs with empty scripts, right? They're not helping your career. You deserve better."
Ichika hesitated, then laughed sheepishly.
"You caught me… Survival comes first, dreams second."
He squeezed her hand.
"True, but you don't have to shoulder everything alone. Lean on us. That's what we're here for."
Ichika's lips quirked in a smile, cheeks faintly pink.
"You're convincing… Can I borrow your shoulder for a while?"
He wrapped an arm around her, letting her rest against him.
The other sisters watched, each with their own reaction—Miku puffed up her cheeks like a jealous squirrel, but no one objected. Ichika deserved a break.
The car rolled out of the city, trading concrete towers for rolling hills and patchwork fields.
Mountains rippled on the horizon. Rivers curled through the valley. The sisters' excitement was contagious, their faces bright with anticipation.
After nearly two hours on the road, they arrived at their destination—a country town, dusk settling in, streetlights flickering on in the cool shadows.
The quintuplets led Draconis Yi to Tiger Rock Hot Springs, a cozy inn run by their grandfather.
Inside, an elderly man sat at the front desk, still and silent until his granddaughters swarmed him.
"Grandpa~"
Five voices, sweet and in perfect harmony.
The old man's smile was gentle, his voice soft as he greeted his "good girls."
Draconis Yi felt the old man's gaze sweep over him—cloudy eyes sharpening for a moment, measuring, weighing. Was he being sized up as a suitor?
Draconis Yi just smiled politely, bowing his head in respect.
The old man barely moved, but Draconis Yi sensed the vitality beneath his stillness—a force that belied his age. Anyone else might have mistaken him for asleep, or even departed. Some kind of secret health technique, maybe.
After introductions, the sisters showed Draconis Yi to his room. With sixteen rooms and no other guests, everyone had space to spare.
That night, at dinner, Draconis Yi noticed something strange—all five sisters wore identical yukatas, their hair accessories matching, even their hairstyles the same length.
For a moment, he couldn't tell them apart. All the tricks he'd learned to distinguish them were useless.
"Heh, surprised?"
One of the girls teased, laughter in her voice.
"…Ichika, right?"
He picked her out by her tone.
Ichika grinned, lifting her hair.
"Wig. Pretty convincing, huh?"
"But why go to all this trouble?" he asked.
Itsuki explained, her manner earnest.
"When we visit Grandpa, we always dress the same. It's tradition."
Draconis Yi recalled the fireworks festival—their synchronized outfits, the sense of nostalgia.
"Is it to remind him of when you were little?"
Yotsuba nodded, her energy unmistakable.
"Yep! Back then, we always looked the same. As we grew up and found our own interests, our styles changed. Grandpa worried we'd drifted apart."
Miku added, "So now, whenever we visit, we dress alike for him."
Draconis Yi gazed at the five identical beauties, a smile tugging at his lips.
"Honestly? Having quintuplet girlfriends… this is happiness."
The sisters groaned, rolling their eyes—but their smiles said it all.
