Xiao Nan smiled gently at Yi Fang, then let go of his hand and stepped into the depths of the temple, leaving him alone in the outer hall where treasures, scrolls, and ancient weapons lay scattered everywhere…

In the main hall of the Xiao family the atmosphere was heavy and charged with tension. Xiao Li sat in a stately posture while Xiao Nan stood before him, her eyes shining with a new understanding drawn from the depths of the temple.

In a calm voice edged with resolve she said, Father… I understand now. I was lost, but after entering the ancestral temple… I grasped the truth.
Xiao Li raised an eyebrow but did not interrupt, allowing her to continue.
Xiao Nan added plainly, without betraying her emotions: "The young man from the Su family… is not my destiny. What was between us was a mistake."
Then, with firmer determination she continued: "Now I am certain… I will not stop Yi Fang from doing what he intends. I will stand by his side and let fate take its course. I will sever the causes and effects that bind me to Su Ling Tian, and I will not allow him to stand in my way."
Silence reigned in the hall for a moment before Xiao Li finally spoke, his voice calm but heavy with warning: "Xiao Nan, if you truly understand, then there is no turning back. You must stand by your decision, for the path of fate admits no regrets. The road you have chosen is not an easy one… and the choice you make will have consequences you may not be able to undo. Remember, no one escapes their destiny, even if it costs you ending the life of someone who was once dear to you. Now that the star of your fate has risen… you must follow the course of this child.
Xiao Nan did not hesitate. She met her father's gaze with steady confidence and replied, "I will not withdraw. I will do everything in my power to fulfill my destiny… even if the price is killing the one I loved."
Deep within, Xiao Nan had already made her decision: she carried a secret no one knew — not even her father Xiao Li — she was not the ordinary girl people believed her to be.

With immense effort, Su Ling Tian raised his trembling head, his dim eyes falling upon Xiao Nan — who stood there, motionless and silent,her gaze fixed on him with an expression that could not be deciphered.
In a faint, pleading whisper, he spoke, his voice fractured and weak,Xiao… Nan… help me… save me… I… don't want… to die…
In his voice remained the trace of the man who had once loved her — the trembling desperation of one abandoned by the world itself.
Yet… though sorrow flickered in her eyes for a fleeting instant, she did not take a single step forward.
On the contrary — her gaze hardened, her resolve sharper than ever.
Taking a deep breath, she tightened her grip around her sword and whispered, her tone trembling with pain yet filled with determination,Young Master Su Ling Tian… please, forgive me. I… cannot defy fate.

His lips quivered; his eyes widened in disbelief, as if his mind refused to accept the truth before him…

And in the next instant — his head fell to the ground.
Su Ling Tian's body collapsed in silence, as though the entire world itself had stopped breathing for a moment.
Xiao Nan took a single step forward, and in that moment, an unbearable emptiness spread through her heart… Her eyes were filled with unwavering resolve, yet no matter how strong she was — she couldn't erase the faint sorrow that had crept deep inside her soul.
Even so… she had made her choice, and she would not regret it.
This was the end — the end of an old story, and the beginning of a new fate.
But it was also the point of no return.
And so ended the fate of Su Ling Tian — the man destined to be nothing more than a "side villain" in this world…
Yet death was not the end.
For in another world — one far removed from this realm, in a land blanketed by eternal snow and whipped by the northern winds…
The Heir of the North awakened.
His eyes glimmered with a cold, piercing light that carried all the emotions Su Ling Tian once bore — sorrow… rage… hatred…
And deep within them burned an undying ambition — the will for vengeance.
Yet one question remained suspended in the horizon of fate: Would Yi Fang and Xiao Nan be able to endure… when the Ice Dragon descends upon this world, when that time finally comes?
