Chapter 37 - Chapter 37: Blissful Night

TAIR WE HAD A DEAL!!

Prince Kioshi was seated on a new piece of furniture that he recently brought in. It was a simple chair but he needed it to rest from now on.

He held onto his stomach while writing a name over and over on a paper.

Atlas..

He sighed with a blissful expression not needing to go out anymore. He folded the paper and threw it on the floor watching it slide beneath his broken bed. For the first time in a while he decided to put on full on robes that were used for sleeping just so his body would be fully covered.

Not a piece of his skin poke out while he was lost in thought, uncomfortably rubbing the piece of cloth where his throat should be.

He smelled so amazing! I felt euphoric all night..

"I guess I can focus on cooking now… Maybe some gardening, I never tried that before." Speaking to himself he heard a soft knock.

"Come in!" Mike called out only for the door to slam open.

"WHERE'S TAIR."

"I DON'T KNOW!" Kioshi immediately threw his hands up in innocence but Shine didn't buy it.

"Why didn't he come home.."

Placing his hands back down on his lap Mike shook his head with a sorrowful expression. "I'm sorry, but I really couldn't tell you, I don't know where he set off to."

"Are you okay..?" That question caught Mike off guard.

Why all of a sudden?

He wasn't aware of it but he had eyebags from his sleepless nights, and his body was shaking faintly under his own weight even if he wasn't holding any of it himself.

The chair barely was enough support and that worried his brother. "You should sleep, recover." Shine insisted despite his furious glare.

He had so much more to say even if Mike couldn't see the shaking of his eyes. He decided not to add further burdens on the unicorn's heart and got up with his support.

Laid down on his bed he closed his eyes with a smile. "Look, I'm resting." He joked only to receive a kick to his bed.

"Next one lands on you." The man threatened before stomping out the room.

"SHINE!" Two voices cheered before screaming for help while they were dragged off into the distance.

"BROTHHEERRR!" Were the last words he could hear from his tiny brothers before his surroundings were drowned in silence.

Feeling bored he started patting around the bed for something. He started kicking the blanket around and even the pillows but he couldn't find it.

Mike panicked while frantically patting around his bed only to come up empty handed.

My phone…!

He rolled on his side in frustration knowing he's gonna have to lie here bored without any entertainment.

A phone? What?

Mike laid flat for quite some time only shifting his sore body occasionally with a huff. Hours passed when finally the door opened back up and Mike tiredly turned to see Kioshi's mother at the door.

"I heard you've been unwell." He hummed softly while approaching his son.

"Yeah….." Mike responded, turning himself away once more.

"I hope it's not your illness acting up." He vaguely mentioned but the closer the beauty got the slower his steps became, and unfamiliar smell reached his nose.

When he was finally close enough he leaned down to his son taking a deep breath. "Were you with anyone?" Kioshi's mother curiously asked but Mike only shook his head.

"You wouldn't lie to your mother right?"

Lie… The word repeated in the boy's heart.

Lies, I don't like them. Not if you're telling them to someone you love.

I don't love you.

"No.."

"No what?" Kioshi's mother leaned closer waiting for a 'no mama' but it never came.

"I'm tired." Mike yawned when his mother suddenly waved his hand. The blanket covering his son suddenly levitated off when another flew in through the door wrapping around his little boy.

"Mama wants only what's best for you, yes?" He asked while patting the much cleaner blanket gently. "So let's get this bed replaced, the furniture repaired. Mama can't have you living in these conditions, he's not mad that you broke them all."

With a curl of Mike's hair Kioshi's mother finally stepped aside and finally left the room.

"Mother… I won't let another one with that title hurt us." Mike mumbled barely energised.

The warmth of the thick blanket finally urged him to undo some of his collar and robe to let some cool air in.

Bite marks and bruises were all over his body with a satisfied smile he shut his eyes comfortably, uncaring of whoever entered anymore.

Drifting off into his sleep he was unaware of the ruckus that was happening outside his room immediately.

"I WANT EVERY MAID EVERY KNIGHT" Kioshi's mother screeched at the top of his lungs, a sound unpleasant to everyone's ears.

"BREAK UP THE FIGHT BETWEEN PRINCE CASSIEL AND ZIKAN AT ONCE AND DRAG THE BOTH TO THIS PALACE!"

Hearing the screams and nonsense commands the centaur father immediately came galloping only to bump into running servants.

"SABIAN!" He roared halting the mad man in his steps.

"You dare… USE MY NAME!?" A large whirl of magic formed on the royal's hand before shooting straight towards his husband.

With a block of his muscles his body had a faint glow of magic before it brittled and vanished into dust. "My love… What is with the ruckus.." He corrected his tone but his wife was already furious.

Sabian approached with a glare.

"Someone touched my son Kioshi, AND I WONT REST UNTIL I CHECKED EVERY BASTARDS PHEROMONES PERSONALLY." Their mother's voice could barely stay a whisper, his veins popping, legs shaking.

"I'll see to it at once.." The centaur bowed and galloped off.

It wasn't short until every servant and knight was shaking in line afraid of the unsaid implications. Everyone was dragged off of their duties and anyone who didn't oblige immediately was hand dragged by the centaur to his wife.

All this commotion didn't get past Shine. He already barricaded the kids away from his parent's wrath.

Everyone was lined up in the halls with Sabian smelling each person individually like a blood hound.

Each person that was dismissed let out a heavy sigh of relief and ran off to resume their duties to avoid any further confrontation.

Shine watched his mother yank and tear at some people clothes whenever he thought he caught onto something only to stomp in frustration when it's not right.

Shine's eyes narrowed watching this odd behaviour while his father seemed very stressed watching his beloved stress out to this extend.

He finally stops at someone Shine had seen plenty around his brother, the eleven man. He was the only elf throughout the entire staff which wasn't unusual.

Sabian took a deep sniff before stopping in his tracks. "Makon."

Shine's horn flickered for a second. He never knew the man's name, nor did any of his brother's.

"Yes, your majesty." The man immediately bowed deeply only to be grabbed by the armor with an iron grip.

"Have you been around my son Makon?" It was not a question, more of a threat.

"Yes your majesty." He elf immediately confessed without a flicker of hesitation.

"Why have you been around my son Makon.." Shine noticed his mother's voice shaking. Although he couldn't tell whether it was in rage or not.

"I have been asked to not answer that."

With those words sabian threw Makon on the other side keeping him there.

"It's not him…" He gasped out in exhaustion. His body was getting tired and the magical flow in his body was starting to grow unstable.

"But you're not free from questioning.."

With those words the old Centaur picked up Makon's injured body and threw it on his back.

He watched his wife continue down the line wearing an exhausted expression. Once every staff was sniffed and every pheromone uncovered Sabian watched the last maid walk off slowly turning towards his husband.

"Did you miss anyone, Herus.."

Herus. He made his wife upset.

"I didn't, my beloved, I can keep looking-"

"FIND ME THE PRINCES!!!!"

With those words sending the centaur back sprinting, Shine quickly fled off to find his little brothers and relocate them.

"Brother where are we going?" Horu kicked around in his big brother's arms while Soku sat on the unicorn's shoulder holding onto his horn for balance.

"we are going to big brother Kioshi.."

Mike was half asleep when he covered himself fully up and groaned for whoever to enter.

He didn't expect Shine to burst through the door and throw his little brothers all over him.

"AGH! DUDE!" Cursing he rubbed his eyes trying to move the cuddly little kids.

Shine leaned unreasonably closer before taking a sniff as well. "Unbelievable.."

"Huh..?" Mike muffled out between stretches before rubbing Soku's head.

"Keep them around you and your room for three days."

"I can't.."

The tired prince immediately protested but the Unicorn didn't back down. "I won't take a no, consider it a debt." He threatened making Horu tilt his head.

"Why?" The boy asked. Mike seemed just as confused, making them both tilt their heads.

Shine only let out a huff before stomping out the room. The prince wasn't gonna let that deter him and decided to lie back down this time, adjusting Horu and Soku around him into a more comfortable position.

"Prince Amon?"

Prince Kioshi shook his head.

He was opposite off of Kioshi's mother who was writing on a sheet with a feather.

"Prince Cassiel?"

Prince Kioshi nodded his head.

The soft scratching of the feather meeting the paper filled the room before Sabian spoke up once more.

"Prince Zikan?"

Mike thought about it for a second, although he wasn't interested in him he was still connected with him and he had been holding off Prince Cassiel for quite a while, unfortunately that finally came to an end.

He nodded.

"Prince Kier?" The frail man asked curiously.

"Who?"

Sabian put down the feather, "You truly don't remember? I'd assume that the largest beast would be ingrained in your memory the most."

Mike titled his head scratching through the depths of his memories for anything but he came up with nothing.

His memory wasn't the best compared to the people around him. Making him reckless.

"The dragon, would you like to meet him? I believe he'd go great with you, he's cold to others and his heat is soon, he may grow attached to you easily." Kioshi's mother suggested with his free hand.

"Heat? Oh right!"

He's read about it before, heat! Nothing as wild as animals but it still affects their behaviours and emotions depending on the person.

"Should I?" His son smiles cluelessly.

"Let's see how Zikan and Cassiel work, they favour you quite a lot." There was an undertone of attitude beneath that statement, almost spiteful.

"Yeah!" Mike barely responded; he seemed his usual cheery self eager to enter the kitchen once more.

"Kioshi, son." The man put down his feather and paper aside patting the seat beside him.

Instead of moving to sit he was instead met with a blank smile. Letting out a deep sigh Kioshi's mother rested his head on his hand dropping his stiff demeanor. "Mother has not been around you enough, I'm sure the awakening ceremony is quite stressful for you." His eyes raised to meet Kioshi's.

"I have made sure to find all the suitable symbols for you, the right area, and the best of the best guards. For your awakening, all you must focus on is yourself and whatever is guiding you through the ceremony."

After the explanation Mike tilted his head. "You said there'd be many royals to watch the ceremony, why?"

"Because if anything goes wrong you'll be in safe hands, but these odds are below zero."

So minus zero? Wait…. Is there a minus zero?

Prince Kioshi's eyes turned distant lost in his thoughts when suddenly Sabian cleared his throat.

"I believe you have.. Been meeting a certain knight?"

"Yes!" Mike immediately spoke without thinking only to feel his back ache almost as if struck.

He was smiling from ear to ear, unable to lie in the other person's face.

"With… A certain elf?" Kioshi's mother pried.

"Yes!"

Kioshi's back suddenly ached as if receiving another strike. "He's been practicing magic with me!" The boy was quick to explain, his mothers eyes were narrowing.

That was the exact same story he heard from the elven man so it must've been true. But even then he couldn't slow the pounding in his chest.

His son smelled like Horu and Soku all over but there was no denying the pheromones he smelled all over his child last time.

The table suddenly creaked when a piece of it snapped off with a crush. "Mom?" Prince Kioshi called out watching a wooden piece torn off by his mother.

"It's nothing…." Sabian answered, tossing the broken piece aside.

Thank you for saying that instead of me!

Mike thanked in his head hearing only a faint hum as a response.

When Kioshi's mother finally dismissed him he made his way down the hall looking around for a certain man but he was nowhere to be found. He could hear galloping from afar before he could react he saw a familiar centaur with rose bouquets clenched in a tight embrace galloping towards the direction Mike came from.

"Hm?" Mike watched the man turn the corner and vanish leaving a faint trail of petals in his wake. "So he likes flowers?"

He was confused but really didn't wanna question it, their business certainly wasn't any of his.
