Chapter 1 - Did I just electrocute my classmate?

The bell rang and the students hurried to their classes after the break.

However, none of the three people in the infirmary seemed to notice it.

The school doctor hurried about while a pale young man was standing next to the hospital bed, absent-minded.

There was still no movement from the flushed boy on the bed. His sleek black hair looked especially erect and despite his red face, his lips were pale white.

Suddenly the door of the infirmary opened and a hurried student bumped into the young man standing there, startling him out of his daze. He looked at the boy on the bed again with melancholy and sighed.

'..was he really at fault? maybe he should stop behaving so carelessly.. but is this guy too unlucky? he got shocked just like that, without even touching the wire..'

He signed once again when the doctor arrived. " Doctor, is he okay?" he was worried.

"Don't worry, it's just a little shock, he'll be fine. Let him be careful in the future" the Doctor tried to appease.

"Okay, thank you very much doctor" he nodded in dismay. He didn't dare say that to the boy. Technically, he did nothing wrong. All he did was bump into him...accidentally.

"He'll wake up soon. The class has already started, why don't you head back? " the Doctor suggested.

"Is that okay?" he was guilty, but he didn't dare stay here.

"It's fine, I'll take care of him. Hurry back, or you'll get into trouble with the teacher" the Doctor kindly reminded.

"Then I'll trouble you" he glanced once more and turned away as if he was afraid of regretting it. Anyway, he didn't want to be beaten after that guy woke up. Though he might not beat people up, still he didn't want to take that risk.

"...draw the tangent here from point A to B, remember that you've to go through point X here.. Yuan! focus on the lesson!" the teacher suddenly snapped.

"Arriving late to the class and being distracted now, is this your learning attitude? I shouldn't have let you into the class at all"

Yuan, who was trying to figure out what exactly happened before, finally came back to earth and promptly apologized "Sorry ma'am, this won't happen a next time"

About an hour ago, Yuan had been carrying his bottle to the water dispenser for a refill, when he nearly slipped on the water that had been dripping to the floor from the dispenser. In his haste, he had grabbed a corner of the dispenser to steady his footing, only to come into contact with its power cable with deteriorated insulation. Startled, he had tried to change his grip, accidentally bumping into another classmate who was waiting in line at the dispenser, on top of all the trouble.

Strangely enough, that classmate had fainted in the next second, with fried hair from an electrical shock! So a very confused Yuan, who had only felt a slight tingling, had to drag the six-foot-tall classmate to the infirmary.

However, now that he had been reprimanded by the teacher, Yuan sat with rapt attention for the rest of the class, trying to look every bit of studious.

When the bell finally rang for the end of the period, Yuan heaved a sigh of relief in secret, while the teacher gave him a barely approving nod, satisfied with his 'behaving'.

Yuan was mentally debating whether he should pay another visit to the infirmary, when the students started rushing past him to the hallway excitedly, pushing and pulling at each other. "Let's hurry, it's snowing"

'Snow…?' Yuan who had heard them, has a bewildered expression. 'At this time of the year? They can't be serious' He followed the others into the hallway equally curious.

The hallway was packed with students peering down from the windows, some even stretching their hands through the gaps between metals bars, trying to catch snowflakes. Yuan squeezed near a window with difficulty, stretching his neck, crammed below another's arm.

Surprisingly, there were indeed specks of white fluff falling down drifting in the wind, although he couldn't help feeling that these snowflakes were somewhat different.
