The door opened, revealing the interior of the room.
Avin raised his head, scanning every part of the room.
There was a big bed, a table, a chair, and a wardrobe.
He looked to the right where the door to the bathroom was present.
There was a large chandelier on the ceiling, releasing a bright golden light.
This was one of the rooms reserved for those who awakened Disaster Rank Abilities.
Those with lower-ranked abilities also had dorm rooms, but they were less luxurious than this.
Also, students could choose to stay in the dorm rooms or in their own houses outside the academy.
That was why Raiven still went home even though there were dorm rooms in the academy.
He decided to stay in his own house.
"Wow..."
A gasp escaped Avin's lips.
Since he was born, he had never seen a room as luxurious as this.
He didn't even realize when a smile formed on his face.
Tears began forming at the edge of his eyes as he walked into the room.
"Mum, Dad... I wish you could see this... I wish you both could see what I accomplished today..."
He locked the door and began arranging the few clothes he had inside the wardrobe.
After freshening up and changing his clothes, he laid down on the bed and finally opened the system screen.
'I still have that quest. I should start looking for leads about who the Necromancer is from tomorrow.'
Putting that at the back of his mind, he opened his profile.
[Name: Avin Serak]
[Age: 17]
[Soul Ability: Life]
[Path: Life Path]
[Rank: Disaster Rank]
[Current Tier: Tier 1]
[Soul Circuit: Soul Reservoir]
[Soul Reservoir: This Soul Circuit allows you to recover your Soul Energy and Stamina two times faster than others]
'Life Path?'
Avin squinted his eyes.
'I've never heard of that Path... That means it's just unique to me.'
He looked at his Soul Circuit, and a smile formed on his face.
"Nice."
[You have received numerous perks due to your blessing]
Avin remembered this notification, so he immediately checked it.
[Due to your blessing, you have received a starting Skill]
[Golden Slash: Swing your sword to release a Golden Slash made from your Life Soul Ability itself, dealing damage to enemies]
Avin still didn't know how or why he received this blessing, but all he knew was that it was helping him.
"I've already received a Skill I can use with my Soul Ability... That's great."
Though, he couldn't deny the fact that he still didn't know what the Life Ability really was.
"Life... What kind of Ability is that?"
He would've said it was related to healing, but after seeing the first Skill he got, it made it clear that it wasn't really healing.
His eyes were fixated on the system screen, reading everything about the perks he received.
[Heightened Senses: Due to your blessing, your senses have been heightened. You can now see, smell, taste, hear, and feel things better.]
Avin raised a brow.
"This is super helpful."
[Heightened Memory: You can now remember things better]
Avin smiled as he stared at the ceiling.
"These are great..."
He exhaled deeply as he closed his eyes with one final thought:
'Classes will begin tomorrow. And then, I can start... I'll make sure I kill every single one of them...'
As for Avin's first target...
It was Tim.

Knock! Knock!
Raiven's eyes snapped open.
'Who the hell is knocking so loudly?!' he screamed in his mind.
"Come in."
BAM!
The door swung open as Allen rushed towards Raiven.
"My son!! I knew you would make me proud!"
Raiven didn't even have the chance to speak before his father enveloped him in a firm hug.
"Now tell me, what Beast can you summon? Your mother and I are curious!"
Raiven smiled wryly, struggling to break free from his father's hug.
He didn't know why, but for some reason, his father hugging him just felt weird.
Though, he had a slight idea of why he was feeling that way.
'I guess I'm still remembering my dad on Earth... I never liked that man...'
Finally breaking free from his father's hug, Raiven smiled.
"I don't know what Beast I can summon for now," Raiven said. "I have to fulfill a certain condition first."
Allen raised a brow.
He touched his chin, stroking his mustache in a thoughtful manner.
"Hmm, maybe you have to learn how to properly use your Soul Energy first before you can summon a Beast," Allen said.
"I guess so," Raiven said, a bit relieved that his father wasn't asking too many questions about it.
'For now, this is exactly what I'll tell anyone who asks about what Beast I can summon,' Raiven thought, 'at least, before I finally raise my first undead.'
"Alright son. I have to get to the office," Allen said, getting up from the bed.
"Sure. See you later."
As soon as Allen left, Lily entered the room.
"Greetings, Master. I'll prepare the bath now."
"Thank you, Lily."
Lily smiled at him. "It's my pleasure, Master."
A few minutes later, Raiven was done and was already wearing the academy uniform—a blue short-sleeved button-up shirt and black trousers.
Once he was done, he headed outside where a blue car was waiting for him.
After waving goodbye to his mum, he entered inside.
The driver instantly took off, heading to the academy.
"I'll come back immediately lessons are over," the driver said after stopping in front of the academy.
"Alright."
With that, Raiven began walking to the lecture building.
He stared at his watch as he walked.
"Class 1A, huh?"
He furrowed his brows as he got closer to the building.
"I can't remember what class Avin was. That was mentioned in the first few chapters of the novel, and it was a detail I didn't really pay much attention to."
Raiven turned his head to the right and instantly spotted Tim and the other three boys walking behind him.
They were radiating immense confidence as they walked, not even bothering to look at anyone.
Raiven massaged his temples as he shook his head.
He knew one thing for sure...
"One of them is going to die today..."
