"Blaze."
Cecilia stepped out of the ward and found the man waiting in the corridor. Her voice trembled slightly as she called his name.
"How is she?" Blaze ended his call and strode straight toward her.
"The doctor said they needed to perform another resuscitation… they asked all the family members to wait outside. Fiona's injuries are serious—she can't even see or speak properly." She let out a weary sigh.
After running around the whole day, Cecilia was drained—physically and emotionally. By the time she returned to the villa, it was already past eleven. She didn't even bother changing her clothes, just wiped off her makeup carelessly and collapsed onto the bed.
But when the body finally stops running after a full day of tension, the mind doesn't always follow. Instead, it stays wide awake—caught between exhaustion and restlessness.
