Chapter 14 - a new anomaly

Sera was heading toward the meeting she had organized.

In front of the golden steps, an angel of imposing stature awaited her. His armor looked forged from a white metal, shining like a star.

He bowed his head respectfully, then presented several tablets of light whose inscriptions floated like golden smoke.

Hamiel: "Sera… My lady… The Principalities have completed all observations, as requested."

Sera took the tablets.

Sera: "What did you find? …I hope my doubts were right."

Hamiel inhaled, searching for his words — a rare thing for an angel of his rank.

Hamiel: "We have detected multiple distortions in space-time. The phenomenon is not localized but occurs across every part of the globe — in America, Africa, Asia, Europe — in one or several countries per continent. But not only on Earth… also in certain regions of the Milky Way."

He conjured a projection.

Sera analyzed every detail, her gaze slowly turning more grave.

Sera sighed. "It seems my theory was correct."

During the appearance of SCP-076, Sera had received a report from a Principality stationed on the European continent. He had detailed that, before SCP-076 appeared, he noticed spatial deformations in various areas across the continent — and one of those distortions matched the exact spot where 076 emerged.

She had then formed the hypothesis that before an anomaly manifests, it triggers multiple distortions in space-time across several zones, and one of those corresponds to the anomaly's point of emergence.

Thus, they could determine the appearance location of an anomaly — not precisely, but enough to secure regions where distortions were detected.

Sera swept the room with her gaze, visibly displeased.

Hamiel noticed her irritation.

Hamiel: "There is no need to worry. You know how he is… Our brother has a habit of being late. But he informed me he will be present this time."

Sera sighed — she knew her brother's behavior well. When it came to meetings or convocations, he was always late. Before, she wouldn't have cared… but now, with the threat of anomalies, his attitude irritated her more than ever.

After a moment, another ray of light descended from the ceiling, shining like a miniature sun. From this column emerged a powerful silhouette wrapped in an aura of warm benevolence.

His presence filled the room with a gentle yet unshakable force.

He approached, resting a hand on the hilt of his flaming sword, offering a gesture of salute.

Mikhael: "I apologize for my delay. I faced some complications. I promise it will not happen again."

Hamiel wanted to make a sarcastic remark, but held his tongue in front of Sera. He still shot his brother a look that clearly meant, "Wow… said by the one who missed eight meetings with FATHER (GOD) and ended up earning titles like 'Angel of Tardiness', 'Gabriel's Antithesis', and so on…"

Mikhael felt embarrassed by that look, though he knew his brother was right. He was known not only for his courage, power and leadership in battle… but also — and especially among his siblings — for always being late.

He took his seat.

He already knew about the threat of the anomalies; he didn't need a recap.

Mikhael: "We have received the reports from the Principalities. I deployed a large unit of Virtues immediately. They are already in action."

Sera turned toward him.

Sera: "Have they been deployed in all affected zones?"

Mikhael: "Correct. We erected energy barriers around every dimensional anchor point and evacuated the population through hypnosis."

Hamiel: "Since distortions occur when an anomaly is close to appearing, that means the countdown shown in the hologram is false. It was supposed to leave us one more day… Did the Foundation lie to us or…"

Mikhael: "I would rather believe they lied. Because given their capabilities and the structured organization they've shown us… the possibility that something managed to bypass them is far more dangerous."

Sera: "Which is precisely why I asked everyone to remain vigilant — and prepared measures for every possible scenario. For now, the meeting is over. Return to your units and ensure the operation proceeds correctly."

Mikhael, Hamiel: "Yes, my lady."

After their departure, Sera remained alone for a few moments, observing the vibrating stained-glass windows.

A shadow of worry crossed her eyes.

She inhaled, ready to leave the room.

Then, a rapid flutter of wings echoed through the adjacent corridor.

An Exterminator-Angel appeared at the entrance, visibly out of breath — it seemed she had flown here at full speed.

Exterminator: "My lady! We… we have a problem."

Sera: "Speak. What is happening?"

Exterminator: "It's Adam."

Sera: "What— what happened to Adam? Don't tell me that—"

The exterminator nodded.

Sera was hit with a violent migraine followed by deep irritation — basically, she suddenly wanted to punch Adam's face in.

Sera: "Why ask for my help? If he has a problem, he should fix it himself. He disobeyed orders, after all."

Exterminator: "I beg you, Lady Sera— Adam disappeared in Hell, and Lute went down to look for him. We're all worried, please…"

She began to cry.

Sera: "Honestly, I should lock Adam in the Garden of Eden to avoid situations like this."

Sera: "Fine. I'll see what I can do. You may go."

Exterminator: "Thank you, Lady Sera! Thank you so much!"

As Sera wondered how she was supposed to get Adam out of his mess, the Foundation hologram appeared.

Sera: "I swear someone — or something — is trying to destroy my mental health."

[New anomaly detected in your reality.

The premature appearance of this entity before the time allotted by the Foundation is unexplained.

We are still investigating the cause.

For now, please wait for unit deployment in 30 minutes.]

[After deliberation of the ∅5 Council, the Foundation has decided to integrate a greater number of individuals into the group chat, due to their involvement in the fictitious scenario of your reality.

The following individuals will be added:]

Lilith, former Queen of Hell

Abel, son of Adam

Rosi, Overlord

Mikhael, Chief of the Virtues and Archangels

Hamiel, Chief of the Principalities

Metatron, the Voice of GOD and former Chief of the Seraphim

(Obviously, the current Chief is Sera)

Gabriel, Chief of the Angels

Camael, Chief of the Powers

Tsaphkiel, Chief of the Thrones

Zadkiel, Chief of the Dominions

Ophaniel, Chief of the Cherubim

[We hope the addition of these individuals will not create discord or hinder your participation in the capture of anomalies.]

---

The anomaly that will appear is dangerous.

It is recommended not to make noise.

SCP-469 — The Many-Winged Angel

Special Containment Procedures (Foundation Report)

Item Number: SCP-469

Class: Keter

SCP-469 must be confined within a specially designed anechoic chamber measuring 4 m x 4 m x 4 m, located in the high-risk entity wing of Site-██.

The walls, floor, and ceiling must be constructed from high-density sound-absorbent materials and multiple layers of acoustic foam.

The internal sound level must never exceed 0.02 dB.

A triple airlock must separate the chamber from any hallway or active facility zone.

Inside the airlock, vibration and decibel sensors must remain active at all times.

If sound exceeding 0.5 dB is detected, automatic sound-suppression barriers will lock into place and nearby areas will be evacuated.

No personnel are allowed to speak, walk loudly, or use mechanical equipment near SCP-469.

All access requires full acoustic-dampening equipment, including:

soundproof suit

cushioned boots

silent respirator

frictionless gloves

light-based communication devices

Description:

SCP-469 is an immobile entity composed of a dense mass of white wings layered into a spherical structure over 3 meters tall.

The wings completely cover a central body that has never been observed.

SCP-469 remains fully inert as long as no sound waves are detected nearby.

In the presence of even the faintest sound:

the wings begin to stir

the mass expands

the entity "absorbs" the sound through an unknown mechanism

it grows and becomes increasingly active

The louder the noise, the more energetic, aggressive, and mobile SCP-469 becomes.

Research continues to determine whether SCP-469:

is an unknown terrestrial organism

originates from another plane

or represents an unrecognized form of "angel"

---

[Good luck. Hold on until our units arrive… lhgkhtjlbdjdjyf. ERROR. ]

The Foundation has identified the cause of SCP-469's premature appearance.

It seems to be the action of another anomaly:

SCP-001 (S. Andrew Swann proposal)

The Foundation does not deem it necessary to inform you of the nature of this SCP.

Please simply focus on the capture of SCP-469.
