A few days have passed since Justin fought with Aaron aka Sonic and Justin decided to pay Miles Drake at H.T.I, a visit. As soon as Justin walked through the door, he saw flowers and pictures as a tribute to Monica Parker who help Justin and paid the price for it. Justin started to feel bad about it, and he also felt responsible for what happened.
"Hello, I'm here to see Miles Drake." Justin spoke to the receptionist who was Monica's replacement.
"Do you have an appointment?" she asked.
"No, but could you tell him that Justin Jackson is here." Justin replied.
The receptionist informed Miles that Justin was there to see him and he told her to send him up.
"Justin, I'm glad you could make it." said Miles as Justin stepped into his office.
"Thanks for inviting me Mr. Drake." said Justin.
"Please, just call me Miles." He insisted.
"Right, Miles, I'm glad you invited me because I wanted to see more of what you and my dad worked on." Justin voiced.
"No problem." said Miles as he lead Justin to the old workstation.
"This is my workstation, well, me and your father's, these are more of the things that we worked on." said Miles as Justin walked through the room and was once again amazed at the amazing inventions, both completed and incomplete, but one in particular caught his eye.
"That's what I'm working on now." said Miles noticing that Justin was intrigued by it.
"What is it?" asked Justin.
"A little experiment, this here is a battery which represents a source and this is the receiver, I'm trying to transfer energy from the source to the receiver by wireless means or without them making any physical contact with each other, but I keep hitting a wall. Your father was an expert on energy and how to manipulate it, especially to help people." said Miles feeling discouraged.
Justin started to think of a way he could help him and came up with an idea.
"Have you tried induction?, it uses electromagnetic fields to transfer energy, maybe it can work with this." Justin suggested.
"Yeah, your right, that just might work; the apple really didn't fall far from the tree." said Miles very much impressed.
"Oh, did you find out any new information about my dad?" asked Justin.
"Sorry but I hit another dead end yesterday, whoever is responsible for this is really good at covering their tracks." Miles was sad to report, meaning that they were no closer to finding out who the man in the shadows is.
Justin and Miles continued to work on the project until Justin's phone suddenly rang. Justin reached for his phone and Jones's name was on the caller ID.
"What is it this time?" asked Justin after he picked up the phone.
"Good morning to you too." said Jones not appreciative of Justin's tone.
"You need to get down here." Jones continued.
"Can't it wait?" Justin asked annoyed.
"No, it's urgent, and trust me, you're gonna want to hear this." said Jones.
"Damn it!, alright I'm on my way." Justin yielded.
"Is everything alright?" Miles inquired, concerned.
"Yeah, it's just… something important just came up, I'll see you later." Justin answered as he walked towards the door.
"Oh okay." Miles replied simply before returning to his work.
LATER AT THE A.D.A
Justin was in the surveillance room along with his mother, Director Stone, Sofia, Jones and Kate the agency's doctor. The screens in the room were showing surveillance of the super powered fugitives Justin had beaten and helped captured so far; Brody, Speed Demon, Pulse, Hurricane and Sonic were all being monitored and Kate had just explained to Justin why Jones summoned him.
"Wait, they're all dying, why?" asked Justin after receiving the news.
"It seems that whatever procedure this man in the shadows is putting them through is causing them to rapidly deteriorate on a cellular level, I've never seen cellular damage like this…and I'm afraid it's irreversible." Kate elaborated.
"When the man in the shadows kidnapped me, I saw when he and Otto tried to give people powers, aside from Pulse and the other guys we captured, I heard all the subjects died, I even saw their henchmen drag out a few bodies, but I assumed that these guys were the successes since they survived and got powers." Justin voiced.
"I wouldn't call them successes if he's planning to build an army, them surviving the procedure is very lucky in itself without adding the fact that they got powers. All it did was delay the inevitable, the human body just wasn't built to withstand having this kind of power, they're all going to die as well as everyone who's forced to receive the cube's energy." Kate continued.
"Everyone...except for me." said Justin after realizing that he might be the only person not suffering side effects from receiving powers from the cube.
"Wait, I've probably had my powers longer than anyone else, does that mean my cells are deteriorating too?" Justin asked.
"That's actually what we wanted to talk to you about." Director Stone interjected.
"There's something else that we haven't been honest with you about." He continued.
"Well that's not surprising, so what else is new?" Justin asked, still upset because of all the lies they told him.
Justin still wasn't a hundred percent convinced that Director Stone wasn't the man in the shadows so he was still weary of being around him.
"Well, it's about how I got my powers." said Director Stone.
"That's right you must have gotten them from the cube as well, and you seem perfectly healthy like me." Justin spoke up in realization.
"Yeah, there's a reason for that,…a few years before you and Amethyst and the rest of the kids were born,…I got really sick, it was a brain tumor and it was terminal I thought for sure that there was no way to save me, but your father found a way to save me." Director Stone explained.
"He found a way to save you from terminal cancer, but how's that possible?, even modern medicine can't do that much less whatever medicine they used back then." Justin expressed his skepticism.
"Your father believed that the cube's energy could save my life, and he was right, the treatment got rid of the tumor that was on my brain and as a bonus, it gave me psychic abilities, I could move things with my mind and also read people's minds. I thought it was amazing, until I realized that the energy also did something else to me. It temporarily saved my life and gave me powers but later we realized that it left me with something worse than a brain tumor." Director Stone added.
"It was killing you." said Justin, figuring it out for himself.
"Yes, the cube's energy was inadvertently causing my cells to deteriorate, your father developed a serum that I had to take over and over again to slow the deterioration down to prolong my life but it was only delaying the inevitable, I was definitely going to die. A few months later, you were born, I don't know why but he ran test on your blood and he realized that it was the key to saving my life; after that he used your DNA and altered the serum and that one dose cured me." Director Stone revealed.
"My DNA saved you?, but why, did...did my father do experiments on me?" Justin questioned him in shock.
"Well the truth is we don't know." Sarah jumped in.
With this news, Justin started to put some pieces together, like the fact that there was something special about his DNA, which explains why his blood reactivated the cube.
"So what now?, you guys want to use my blood to stabilize them, save their lives?" Justin asked.
"Unfortunately, your father was the only person who would know how to save them , only he knew the formula for the serum, all we know is that he used your DNA to help create it, so even if we attempted to save them, if we get the formula wrong it could make the situation worse or it could even make them stronger which wouldn't be good, either way we can't risk it." said Director Stone.
Little did they know that one of the mini drones that the man in the shadows managed to sneak into the A.D.A when sonic was captured, was recording and capturing everything that was happening and being said.
"You should probably get home and get dressed, you've got a dance to get to." Sarah suggested.
"How did you know about that?" Justin asked.
"Chloe told her mom and she told me, and I think she also said that Chloe said that you're going with Amethyst." Sarah replied.
"I'm not going with her, she just said that I should go to the dance, and I said fine." Justin corrected.
"Ohhh really now, you never went to dances before, but now you're going because she ask you to, do you like her?" Sarah teased.
"Mom, come on." Justin replied denying it.
"What?, Amethyst is a pretty girl, now that I think about it…you did kinda have a crush on her when you guys were kids." Sarah continued.
"I don't remember that, it must be among the memories you guys erased." Justin spat driving a knife into the wound.
"Oh, right, I guess I deserved that; listen I wish there was something I could say to make you less angry but there isn't, and I'm not gonna apologize for doing what I thought was necessary at the time to protect you." Sarah spoke bluntly.
"Don't worry, I wasn't expecting an apology, I know you better than that." Justin added coldly.
Sarah sighed as she tried to think of something to say or do to relieve some of the tension that has built up over the past few days.
"So,…since you've never went to anything like a dance before, I'm guessing that you don't have anything to wear." Sarah spoke trying to break the ice.
"No, I don't." Justin replied a few seconds later.
"Alright, let's go." said Sarah.
"Wait, where are we going?" asked Justin.
"A clothing store, we have to get you something to wear don't we?!' Sarah asked rhetorically.
Which caused Justin to chuckle as he followed after her.
MEANWHILE
"It seems that all the successes were still failures since they're all going to die eventually." Otto spoke as he was watching the surveillance with his boss.
"That's not important, what is important now is that we now know how to stop them from dying, for years I've been trying to recreate Joe Jackson's serum by studying his research with no success, something was always missing from the formula; and to think that the thing we were missing was his son's DNA, who we had captured not too long ago…who you let escape because of your incompetence." said the shadow man with his voice raised with anger as he lifted Otto up and threw him down to the ground with a lot of force.
"Ugh, I-I'm...sorry sir but it really wasn't my fault…." Otto tried to defend himself before being cut off.
"I don't want to hear your excuses, have we had any more subjects since Landon and Enzo?" asked the shadow man.
"No sir, just those two. Do you wish to mobilize them?" asked Otto.
"No, just Landon, his new particular abilities will be very useful in recapturing him and fixing your mistake." said the shadow man.
"Yes sir." said Otto as he accepted the insults and walked away.
A FEW HOURS LATER
"Are you done?" asked Sarah as she was waiting outside Justin's bedroom door.
Justin opened the door and walked out wearing a tuxedo that his mother just bought.
"Well, don't you look handsome, this will be your first dance, wait here while I get the camera." said Sarah with a smile on her face
"Mom, I think you're making a big deal out of this." Justin spoke.
"Nonsense." said Sarah as she started taking some pictures.
"The tux is alright, but I can't figure this tie out." said Justin as he struggled with his bow tie.
"Here, let me help you with that, I used to tie these for your father." said Sarah
"You know I heard what you did at the school when hurricane attacked." Sarah voiced as she began tying his tie.
"Yeah I fought him, and are you calling these guys by some code names that Jones came up with?" asked Justin.
"What, they're easier to remember, and I heard you did more than just fought him, I heard from Chloe that you pulled the fire alarms first to evacuate everyone so that they wouldn't get hurt. I don't think the old you would care enough to do that, maybe there is a hero deep down inside you after all." Sarah spoke feeling a bit of pride for her son.
"Nah, you're just overthinking things." Justin replied.
"Maybe, maybe not." said Sarah with a smirk on her face.
"Besides, even if that was true, I'd be a bad hero, I've been struggling to win the fights I've had so far and these guys that are being sent after me, each one is more powerful than the last. I'm worried that soon I won't be strong enough to stop them." Justin shared his concerns.
"I think you might be selling yourself short, despite the fact that I didn't want you involved in all this, Brody was pretty strong and you beat him." said Sarah, in an attempt to encourage her son.
"I don't know how to explain it, but my powers felt different that night. It was like an entirely different kind of power all together. I got a huge boost, but I've haven't been able to summon that kind of power since then." Justin revealed.
"Well, I wouldn't worry about it much, you probably just pushed enough. A person can do things that they never thought they could do when their backs are against the wall and pushed to the edge, or when someone they care about is in danger. They can surpass their limits and uncover some hidden ability, and that's when a person's true power emerges." said Sarah.
Justin started to think about what his mother said.
"At least that's what I think anyway." She continued.
"Hey, speaking of which, if you're such a badass fighter, how did Brody capture you that time?" Justin asked.
"Oh, I let him capture me, it was all part of my plan to find out the shadow man's identity, but it didn't work." Sarah replied.
"Oh." Justin replied simply.
"Now get out of here you're already pretty late for the dance." Sarah sent him off.
"Ok, I'll see you later." said Justin as he made his way out the door.
HALF AN HOUR LATER AT THE DANCE
Justin walked through the gym doors and saw that almost everyone was dancing to loud music while a few were eating or surrounding the punch bowl.
"Well look who finally showed up, I was starting to think you wouldn't come." said Chloe as she spotted him standing beside the punch bowl wearing a green dress that passed her knees by one or two inches.
"Hey are the others here yet?" asked Justin.
"Yeah, Kade went off to flirt with some girls and here comes Max now." Chloe replied.
"Waddup!" said Max as he and Justin did a fist bump.
Soon after, Kade joined them and the four of them began to talk amongst themselves.
"Hey guys." said Amethyst approaching them wearing a red dress that stopped right above her knees.
"Hey Amethyst." They greeted her in unison.
"Glad you decided to come after all Justin." Amethyst continued.
"Oh,… yeah, me too." said Justin, unable to keep his eyes off of her in that dress.
"Oh, there you are, I was wondering where you went." said Duncan as he was walking towards them.
"Oh hey guys." Duncan greeted everyone.
"You wanna dance?" Duncan asked Amethyst as a slow song stated to play.
"Sure." Amethyst agreed as they strayed away from the rest of the group.
"Why don't we join them?!" Kade suggested to Chloe.
"You're asking me to dance with you?" said Chloe in a surprised tone of voice.
"Yeah, I mean, why not?" said Kade.
Chloe hesitated for a few seconds before answering.
"Oh what the heck, sure, but if your hands go anywhere lower than my waist, you're dead." Chloe threatened him.
"Yes ma'am." Kade replied as they both strayed away as well.
"I'm guessing you didn't ask anyone to come to the dance with you?" Max asked Justin.
"Of course not, like I said, dancing really isn't my thing, even if I was interested in asking someone, do you thing anyone would say yes?" asked Justin in a low tone.
"Guess you got a point there." said Max.
"What about you?, I'm sure a few girls asked you and you turned them down, are you not into girls or something?" Justin teased with a grin on his face.
"Don't even joke like that man." Max said with a serious look on his face.
"Calm down dude, It was just a simple joke" Justin spoke.
"I turned them down because this dancing thing isn't really my scene either. I wasn't going to come to this either but that cousin of yours is really pushy about all of us coming tonight." Max explained, sighing at the end.
"Yeah, that sounds like Chloe alright." said Justin.
"And yeah, the girls who asked me, I wasn't really interested in them." Max added.
"You must be a ladies man huh?!" Justin replied.
"Nah, I wouldn't go that far." said Max.
"So is there a girl that you're interested in?" Justin asked.
"Nah, haven't met anyone like that yet; I'd ask you the same question but I already know who you're interested in, too bad she's unavailable." said Max.
"Huh, What're you talking about?" asked Justin.
"I'm talking about Amethyst, who else bro." Max replied as if it was the most obvious thing.
"But I already told you guys it isn't like that." Justin tried to defend himself.
"You don't honestly expect us to believe that do you?" asked Max with a raised eyebrow and a grin on his face.
Justin paused for a bit before replying.
"Man, just drink your punch." Justin suggested as he tried to change the subject.
Max started to laugh as Justin drank some more punch.
Not having much interest in the night's festivities, both Justin and Max were just chilling while their friends and other students were dancing the night away.
As they were talking, a few police cars drove pass the school with the sirens on, it seemed to be an emergency.
"Do you think you should check it out, it might be another one of those metahumans?" asked Max.
"Maybe." said Justin.
Justin sighed out of frustration.
"I'll be right back." said Justin.
"Okay, I'll cover for you."
"Thanks." Justin said as he left.
Justin went to the roof of the school, changed into his suit and stashed his tux somewhere safe before flying off. Justin followed the police cars to where the commotion was going down only to find police officers on the ground evacuating civilians. People were running in the opposite direction that he was flying from in a panic. The police cars came to a stop and Captain Sting and the officers stepped with their guns drawn and they were aiming at a man who seemed unarmed. This stranger's name is Landon, one of the shadow man's recent test subjects.
"Get down on the ground with your hands behind your head, NOW!, or we will open fire." Captain Sting ordered.
"I don't think I will." said Landon.
Looking carefully, Justin noticed that there were two officers lying dead at his feet.
Landon proceeded to walk towards the officers.
"Open fire!" Captain Sting ordered.
They all opened fire at him, leaving him full of holes.
"Wow, overkill much." Justin said to himself as he was watching from the sky.
They all thought that he had to be dead now, until....
"Now was that really necessary?, that kinda hurt you know." said Landon still standing.
Both Justin and the officers gasped in disbelief at the fact that he was still standing plus the fact that he wasn't even bleeding.
Suddenly, the holes in his body started to release a green vapor as some of the holes in his body began to close up.
"Don't breath in the gas, it's toxic." said Captain Sting as he and his men began to put more distance between them and him.
"Toxic gas huh?, so he does have powers." Justin said to himself as he proceeded to intervene thinking that a little bit gas wouldn't have any effect on him.
"Just the man I was looking for, I was sent to collect you." said Landon.
"Yeah, I had a feeling." said Justin as he walked towards him ignoring the little vapors that were coming from the holes in his body left by the bullets. The vapor did cause him a bit of discomfort but not enough to weaken him.
"Ok let's go, I've somewhere to be." said Justin as he grabbed a hold of his arm attempting to take him to the A.D.A.
"I guess I shouldn't be surprised that this small amount of gas doesn't have any effect on you, I guess I should turn it up a notch." said Landon.
Justin turned around and Landon opened his mouth and doused him with a huge dose of toxic gas by exhaling in his face. Justin started coughing a lot as he fell to his knees. Landon kept blowing the toxic gas on him, making Justin even more sick.
"Landon, may I remind you that we need him alive." said the shadow man over the comms in his ear.
"Oh sorry, I forgot." Landon replied.
After being exposed to so much toxic gas, Justin found himself unable to breath in addition to the excessive coughing. Justin flew off as soon as he noticed that Landon was distracted.
"Crap!, he's getting away." Landon exclaimed.
"Don't worry, I know exactly how to draw him out." said the shadow man.
Justin flew all way back to the A.D.A, fighting to remain conscious, fighting the pain of his aching lungs, he felt like he was dying.
"Justin?, what are you doing back here?" asked Director Stone as Justin walked through the door stumbling.
"Quick, I need your help." said Justin before he finally collapsed.
Director Stone quickly rushed to his side.
"Justin?, Justin?, Jones, help me take him to the medical wing." said Director Stone as he and Jones lifted him of the floor.
A FEW MINUTES LATER
"What,…what happened?" asked Justin as he regained consciousness in the medical bay.
"You collapsed as soon as you got here, but we managed to figure out what happen to you." said Kate.
"And we also managed to figure out who you were fighting, that's why I sent Jones with a few men to intercept the target." said Director Stone sitting by his bedside.
"What, you have to call them back, this guy is dangerous, his powers…." said Justin before he was cut off.
"We know, his power is creating some kind of toxic gas right, that's why I sent them with hazmat suits." Director Stone attempted to reassure him.
"That gas might to be too powerful for those suits." said Justin as he got up out of the bed.
"Woah, wait a minute, should you really be out of bed so soon?" asked Director Stone.
"It's fine, I feel well enough to move." said Justin.
"Your new regenerative system must be better than expected, guess I don't need to continue making this antidote." said Kate.
"Actually, we'll still need it because a lot of other people were also infected." said Justin.
"I don't think we have enough for that many people, let alone make them effective enough to neutralize the effects of a gas this toxic is such short time." said Kate.
"That's fine, we just need enough for one, and don't worry about making them effective enough, I can take care of that." said Justin.
Justin has come up with a lot of great plans in last minute situations like this that worked out for the best, so they just decided to trust him as Justin filled them on his plan.
After divulging his plan, Justin assisted Kate in creating an antidote for one person. The antidote was in liquid form and they placed it inside a syringe. Justin flew off as soon as the antidote was ready. Justin was holding the syringe in his hand, he focused on sending some of his energy to his hand, imbuing the antidote with it in hopes of enhancing its effectiveness. As he did this, the liquid antidote also started to glow like his hand and it also started to fizz. As Justin was flying, he saw that there were more people who were affected by the gas, who were starting to loose control of their motor function and some even started to collapsed.
"If this continues, the gas will reach the school, it could even spread through to the whole city." Justin said to himself realizing that the situation is even more dire.
That same feeling of discomfort returned as he got closer to where the gas was coming from, which made it hard to breath, which means he was getting close to wherever Landon was. But one of the key elements to ensuring that Justin's plan was working was for him to pretend that the gas doesn't have effect on him, no matter how much gas he gets exposed to. Justin finally found Landon, but Justin realized that if he kept going in the direction that he was going, he would reach the school eventually and flew down to intercept him.
"So you actually came back, well that's good, thought I was gonna have to force you to come out." said Landon as Justin landed on the ground in front of him.
"My boss was clear about me not killing you, so why don't we make this easier on yourself and just give yourself up, so that way I won't have to gas you up." said Landon.
"Well I'm sorry to disappoint you, but your gas won't have an effect on me anymore, after our encounter a while ago, my body developed antibodies, so it won't affect me anymore." said Justin attempting to bluff.
"Yeah right, sorry but that's not possible." said Landon.
"Oh yeah, then how am I still standing, Think about it, I was exposed to your gas more than anyone else, do I look affected?" said Justin trying to use his super charged regenerative capabilities to help make his lie seem more believable.
Landon stopped to think and came to the realization that Justin might be telling the truth.
"But that's not possible." said Landon.
"Well you're more than welcome to try and prove me wrong." said Justin baiting him into doing what he wants.
Landon opened his mouth and released some gas towards Justin. Justin tried his best not to inhale much of it which slowed down the effects, even though gas like this doesn't need to be inhaled to take effect.
"See, no effect." said Justin as the gas started to dissipate, even though he was still getting sick despite not breathing much of it in but kept up the poker face.
"Fine, it might not affect you anymore, but I'm sure it still affects them." said Landon as he attempted to unleash the full force of gaseous power on the people around them who were unconscious or too sick to move.
"NO!" Justin shouted as he moved to where Landon was fast as he could.
Landon already released the huge amount of toxic gas around him while having a smug look on his face, so sure that he had won, thinking that they lost consciousness at least with the amount of gas he released.
But to his surprise, as the gas spread, the people started to feel better and started to stand up. Landon also noticed that his gas had changed color.
"What happened to my gas?" asked Landon confused.
"I might have altered it a bit." said Justin as he held up the now empty syringe for him to see.
Justin moved so swiftly, Landon didn't even realize that he was injected with something. Justin basically used him as a disbursement device for the antidote. The antidote would eventually get to everyone that was affected before the antidote eventually neutralize his powers temporarily. Landon turned around an attempted to run once he came onto the realization that he could no longer win this fight, but with Justin's speed, he just appeared in front.
"Lights out." said Justin as he knocked him out since his powers were gone temporarily which enabled physical blows to have an affect on him and not pass through him like the bullets.
"You already took him down, you could have waited for back up." said Jones as he and a team of agents showed up on the scene in hazmat suits.
"Yeah, you guys were a bit too slow this time." said Justin with a smirk on his face.
"Whatever man, well we can take it from here." said Jones.
"Yeah alright, I have a dance to get back to anyway." said Justin before he flew off.
MEANWHILE
"It seems not even Landon couldn't defeat him and bring him to us." said Otto as both he and the shadow man were listening the whole time.
"Maybe I've been going about this the wrong way." said the man in the shadows.
"What do you mean.? asked Otto.
"This whole time I was capturing him, but what I should do is make him no other choice but come to us of his own free will." said the shadow man.
"That's a great idea, but how are you going do that." asked Otto.
"Go after some one he cares about, and thanks to the camera drones that I made Sonic plant at the A.D.A., I know just who." said the shadow man smiling nefariously.
A FEW MINUTES LATER
Justin had changed back into his tux before going back into the school.
"Is it over?" Justin asked his friends as he walked pass other students as they left.
"Yeah, Max told us that there was an emergency and you had to leave, is everything okay now?" asked Amethyst.
"Oh yeah, everything's okay now." Justin replied.
"Chloe, Kade, I need to talk to you guys about something, privately." said Max
"Okay." They both replied as Max took them outside of the gym , leaving Justin and Amethyst alone.
"Where's Duncan?" asked Justin.
"Oh, he also had something to take care of, he'll be back though."
"Oh okay." said Justin.
Justin and Amethyst kept talking and laughing with each so much that they didn't even notice that Max, Chloe and Kade were gone a long time. Justin soon realized that was probably Max's way of giving him time alone with her.
"Its too bad that you didn't get to enjoy the dance much." said Amethyst.
"Yeah, but it's cool, like I said, dancing really isn't my thing anyway." said Justin.
"I bet that there's a little tiny dancer deep down inside you that's just waiting to come out." Amethyst teased.
"I highly doubt that." said Justin while laughing.
Amethyst then stood up off the bleachers and held out her hand to Justin.
"Come on, get up." said Amethyst.
"Why?" asked Justin.
"Because we're gonna dance, don't worry, its easy, just follow my lead and try not to step on my toes. Besides, I did promise to save you a dance." said Amethyst.
"I thought you were kidding." said Justin surprised that she remembered that.
"Nah, I wasn't, now, give me your right hand and put your left hand on my hip." Amethyst instructed.
"Okay." said Justin as he followed her instructions.
"See, you're getting it, told you there was nothing to it." said Amethyst as they both swayed across the gym floor, doing the waltz.
It kept on like this for a while, Unfortunately, Duncan had returned like Amethyst said he would and caught them in the moment. Due to how surprised he was, he didn't call them out or make his presence known in anyway, instead he clenched his fist, shook his head and stormed out of the gym without Justin or Amethyst noticing that he was even there.
"Still think dancing isn't your thing?" asked Amethyst as she moved her head away from his chest.
"It can be,...depending on who I'm dancing with." said Justin staring at her longingly, oblivious that he was hinting at something as they both stared at each other for while.
Getting caught up in the moment, Justin leaned in and kissed her but Amethyst took a step back, ending the moment.
"Um,….why did you kiss me?" She asked stunned.
"I… I don't know, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that." said Justin.
"I'm not angry, but I like Duncan, you know that." Amethyst replied.
"Yeah,...I know." said Justin sounding a bit disappointed.
"So let's just pretend that this never happened, okay?" said Amethyst.
"Yeah okay. " Justin replied.
There was just uncomfortable silence for a while afterwards until Justin decided to get out of that awkward situation.
"I'm kinda thirsty so I'm gonna grab something from the vending machine, do you want anything?" asked Justin.
"Sure, thanks." said Amethyst.
Justin stepped outside of the gym to go get two beverages, leaving Amethyst by herself. What would happen next, was totally unexpected.
"Amethyst?,...Amethyst?" Justin called out for her noticing that she was just gone after getting the beverages.
At that same moment, Justin heard her voice.
"What do you think you're doing, let me go." Amethyst shouted.
Justin speeded out in time to see a black van speed off from the school's front gate.
"Amethyst!" Justin shouted out as the van took off.
Justin noticed that the van looked familiar, it was identical to the one he was thrown into when he was captured. Justin quickly put his mask on only since he didn't have time to change into his suit, and chased the van by air.
In the van were three of the shadow man's henchmen. One in the driver's seat, two in the back along with Otto in the passenger seat beside the driver.
Justin caught up to the van and was about to stop it, when Otto pointed his cybernetic arm outside the car window and it transformed into some kind of canon and shot Justin, disorientating him for a while.
"I knew this would come in handy, pun intended." said Otto as his hand transformed back.
When Justin came to his senses, he had lost sight of the van. He quickly flew up and scouted out for it until he finally had eyes on it again. Justin became really angry at this point, as he flew in front of the van and punch a hole in the hood and ripped the engine out with his bare hand, causing the van to go out of control, but Justin stopped it before it crashed. Justin quickly went around back and ripped the doors of their hinges expecting Amethyst to be there, but sadly…she wasn't.
"Where is she?, WHERE IS SHE?" Justin yelled as he punched through the window, grabbed Otto by the throat and yanked him out straight through the car door window and held him in the air.
"Don't make me ask again." said Justin very intimidatingly as he started to squeeze.
"She's on her way to the boss, and if you want to see her, you'd better do what he tells you to do.
Justin realized that they must've moved her into a different car while he was out.
Justin knocked Otto unconscious and flew into the air to see if he could find her but there were just too many cars driving around for him to find, he was looking for a needle in a haystack, at night time to make it even worse. At that moment Justin started to panic.
What in the world had he gotten her into?...
