I don't think I'd ever get used to the feeling of hearing her say yes.
Not because I doubted that she felt something,I'd seen it in the way her eyes softened when I looked at her, in the way her voice trembled slightly when she said my name, but because hearing it made everything inside me rearrange. It was like my heart had been waiting for that one word to breathe again.
She said yes.
My love said yes.
She said she will be mine!
All through the night, that thought wouldn't leave me. She had fallen asleep beside me her head on my chest, her breath soft and rhythmic, like music I didn't know I'd missed all my life. My arm was still wrapped around her, and even though it was going numb, I couldn't bring myself to move. I was terrified that if I did, it would all vanish the warmth, the love,the peace, the unbelievable truth that Tasharina Hale, my love was mine.
