Chapter 172 - YGS [172]

Amber gazed enviously at the Duel Disk in Diluc's hands.

She wanted one too.

At Windrise, Amber had seen Luya summon Monsters using that very Duel Disk. So when she saw him hand one to Diluc, her eyes began to shine with excitement.

Seeing her eager expression, Luya smiled. "Haha, no need to worry, Amber. The Duel Disk is one of the shop's products."

"Really!?"

"I want one!" Amber exclaimed, delight spreading across her face.

"Of course. Here you go~"

Luya reached into his system inventory and drew out another Duel Disk, handing it to Amber.

Amber was astonished. It looked as though Luya had pulled it out of thin air!

"This is amazing... your merchandise just appears out of nowhere?!"

She was thrilled, staring at the Duel Disk as if witnessing a magic trick.

Diluc, too, was curious about how Luya managed such feats—but chose not to pry.

"How much is this Duel Disk?" Diluc asked.

"100,000 Mora."

Amber happily took out 100,000 Mora from her pouch and handed it to Luya.

Luya accepted it with a smile. "Thank you for your patronage."

...

"Well then... let's begin our Duel!"

Diluc had already strapped on his Duel Disk, his deck loaded and ready. His expression was filled with anticipation—he could hardly wait to start an exciting match against Luya.

"Let's Duel at the plaza," Luya suggested.

According to the system's temporary quest, dueling at the plaza would earn him a reward of fifty million Mora.

The Mora itself wasn't anything special, but it was still a nice bonus—something rather than nothing. More importantly, it would draw the attention of Mondstadt's citizens, spreading the word that Yu-Gi-Oh! had arrived in their city.

"Haha, sounds good. Let's go," Diluc said, nodding as he walked toward the shop entrance.

Amber and Luya followed behind.

"Haha, I'm so curious to see what this Duel will look like! I wonder who'll win!" Amber laughed as they walked through the streets, her cheerful voice drawing the attention of passersby.

"What!?"

"Master Diluc is going to Duel someone?!"

"No way! Who's bold enough to challenge Master Diluc?"

"I think it's that young man behind Amber—the one from Liyue."

"Really? Can that guy even stand a chance against Master Diluc?"

"Why are they dueling anyway? Is there some kind of dispute?"

Soon, the gossip spread, with rumors claiming that Diluc and Luya were dueling for Amber's sake.

Naturally, curious onlookers began to follow the trio, eager to watch the show.

Before long, they reached Mondstadt Plaza.

In the plaza, wind and freedom intertwined as people bustled about or lounged at ease. The towering Statue of The Seven stood as a symbol of the city's legacy and glory. The ornate fountain sparkled under the sunlight, casting rainbow hues across its spray. The air was alive with laughter and conversation.

...

News traveled quickly in Mondstadt. The rumor that Diluc would duel a Liyue visitor "for Amber" spread like wildfire.

Many citizens came to see the spectacle, including Knights of Favonius members like Jean, Sucrose, Kaeya, and Albedo.

"What!?"

"Master Diluc... dueling a Liyue man over Amber? That can't be right, can it?"

"They say it's happening right in front of the Statue of The Seven!"

"Then let's see for ourselves."

...

Crowds soon filled the plaza, eager to witness the Duel before the Wind God's statue. The scene grew livelier than any festival.

All of this, of course, was thanks to Amber's one careless remark.

"Wow, why is the plaza so crowded today!?" Amber said with a bright grin, the Duel Disk in her arms and her bow slung across her back.

"I have no idea. It's never this lively." Diluc frowned slightly, puzzled by the crowd.

"Look!" someone shouted.

"It's Master Diluc, Amber, and that young man from Liyue!"

"Whoa, so they really are going to Duel... but why don't they have weapons?"

"Yeah... are they fighting barehanded or something?"

"That young guy doesn't stand a chance. Master Diluc was once the captain of the Knights of Favonius—his combat skills are top-notch!"

At that moment, Venti appeared, smiling.

His short black hair fluttered in the breeze, twin green-tipped braids framing his face with a touch of playfulness. Dressed in Baroque-style attire and a green cloak, he exuded an air of elegance and mischief. A Cecilia flower pinned to his hat whispered of untold tales.

"Hahaha, I heard there's a Duel here today—what better time for a song!" Venti said, taking out his lyre.

Then he began to sing:

"Mondstadt Plaza, land of freedom, where people come and go, ever in motion.

The Wind God stands tall, history long, fountains dancing, spirits strong.

Sunlight sparkles, waters gleam, rainbows shimmer, like a dream.

Voices mingle, laughter's song—here the wind and freedom belong."

...

Soon, the crowd rewarded Venti with Mora and wine as he played.

Amid the excitement, Luya and Diluc stepped forward, facing each other in the open square—their Duel about to begin.
