When they met again in the classroom, An Yan, Tsunade, and Hiruko exchanged glances.
A strange feeling had developed between the three of them.
It was as if they shared a secret that no one else knew, creating a peculiar sense of superiority. Perhaps this was what people called a bond.
The day's classes passed quickly.
Hiruko bought a large bag of water balloons and began the first stage of Rasengan training. He wisely chose not to tag along with An Yan and Tsunade.
Tsunade, meanwhile, led An Yan to the Senju clan compound.
It was a quaint courtyard, serene and filled with lush trees that gave it a vibrant feel.
An Yan finally met Mito Uzumaki.
In the courtyard, she stood under a tree, dressed in a kimono, her red hair styled in two buns. Her face was calm and gentle as she watched An Yan and Tsunade approach.
Upon seeing Mito, Tsunade excitedly ran up and swung her hand back and forth.
"Grandma Mito, look! This is my deskmate, the super-amazing genius I told you about!"
Mito affectionately stroked Tsunade's head, calming her down, before her gentle gaze fell upon An Yan.
An Yan instantly felt the air around him grow heavy. He took a deep breath, bowed slightly to Mito, and said in a clear voice, "Lady Mito Uzumaki, it is an honor to meet you. I am An Yan, Tsunade's deskmate. It's a pleasure to meet you."
Facing this seemingly ordinary woman, An Yan felt a twinge of nervousness, his body tensing up.
This beautiful red-haired woman with two buns in her hair was Konoha's strongest powerhouse at the time.
After the Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju, died, Madara Uchiha didn't cause any trouble for twenty to thirty years. Surely no one thought it was because he was afraid of the "Strongest Hokage," Hiruzen Sarutobi.
As the wielder of the strongest sealing jutsu of the Uzumaki clan for centuries, Mito Uzumaki could easily handle the Nine-Tails in eighteen different ways.
Her strength was definitely on par with Madara Uchiha's. Not just anyone could be Madara's rival in love. With sealing jutsu, a bug-level ability in the world of Naruto, Mito's power was undeniable. Anyone who faced her would be in for a tough fight.
Mito's gaze lingered on An Yan for a moment, examining him from head to toe. A faint smile touched her lips.
"You know, Tsunade talks about you a lot at home," Mito said slowly, her voice laced with amusement.
"Your outstanding academic ability, precise chakra control, innovative trap designs, and disciplined reflex training... you've done very well in every aspect."
An Yan's face grew warm. It felt like being suddenly praised by his mother-in-law. He stole a glance at Tsunade, who was standing with her hands on her hips, looking smug.
Your grandma is praising me. What are you so proud of?
An Yan grumbled inwardly but humbly replied to Mito's praise.
"You're too kind. I'm not as outstanding as you say."
Mito chuckled. "Not at all. I can judge for myself how outstanding you are. Child, I heard from little Tsunade that you created a no-hand-seal ninjutsu. Could you show it to me?"
An Yan didn't hesitate. He held out his right hand, and a pale blue Rasengan instantly formed, emitting a soft glow.
Mito nodded slightly as she looked at the Rasengan. "Little Tsunade was right. It has indeed reached the level of an A-rank jutsu. To create an A-rank jutsu at such a young age... Little An Yan, you are truly a genius."
An Yan scratched his head shyly. "This jutsu, in its current state, is not yet in its strongest form. In my final vision, with the addition of chakra nature transformation to the shape transformation, its attack power should reach an extremely terrifying level."
Mito pondered for a moment and nodded in agreement. "Indeed. The current Rasengan is just the basic form. If you combine it with powerful chakra natures like wind, fire, or lightning, I believe its power could reach S-rank."
Tsunade and An Yan exchanged a look and smiled. The higher the evaluation of the Rasengan, the higher the rank of the jutsu Mito would give An Yan in return.
"Little An Yan, would you be willing to record this jutsu in the village's Scroll of Seals?" Mito asked with a pleasant expression.
Tsunade was curious. "Grandma Mito, the Rasengan shouldn't be considered a forbidden jutsu, right?"
Mito stroked Tsunade's head and explained with a smile, "This jutsu has great potential for development and can easily reach S-rank in the future. Therefore, it can be included in the Scroll of Forbidden Jutsu."
An Yan didn't mind others in the village learning the Rasengan and readily agreed.
Seeing An Yan's decisiveness, Mito was slightly taken aback, but she quickly recovered. It was a good thing that the child was willing to give the jutsu to the village. It showed that his heart was with the village. This child was a true inheritor of the Will of Fire.
Mito felt gratified. Her eyes filled with approval, and she nodded gently.
"Very good, An Yan. You are a fine child. It is Tsunade's good fortune to be your deskmate. I hope you two will support each other and grow together in the future."
Tsunade, listening on the side, nodded vigorously and puffed out her chest. "Don't worry, Grandma. We will definitely grow up to be the great trees that shelter Konoha."
Mito smiled helplessly, then looked back at An Yan, her gaze even softer. She reached into her kimono, took out a scroll, and handed it to him.
"As a gift for our first meeting, I don't have much to offer. This scroll contains some knowledge about sealing jutsu. You can take it and study it."
An Yan stared at the scroll, slightly stunned. His original intention was to learn Tsunade's Monstrous Strength, which he would have considered a win. He never expected to receive sealing jutsu as a bonus.
An Yan respectfully took the scroll and bowed. "Thank you very much, Lady Mito. I will study it diligently and will not disappoint your expectations."
Looking at the respectful An Yan, Mito patted his head. "From now on, just call me Grandma, like Tsunade does. No need to call me 'Lady'."
An Yan was taken aback. He glanced at Tsunade, whose face was slightly red, and immediately understood. "Grandma Mito."
"Good boy. We've been talking for so long, the food I made is getting cold. Come in and have a bite. Try your grandma's cooking."
Hearing An Yan call her grandma, Mito was very happy. She took both their hands and led them inside.
And so, the three of them enjoyed a wonderful dinner together.
