Description:
SCP-001-B is a colossal arthropodic organism. Estimates place its dorsal height in excess of 30 m. Notable traits include:
Carapace: Black, reflective, layered with anomalously resilient chitin. Impervious to conventional and anomalous ordnance.
Appendages: Numerous tentacular and insectoid limbs capable of burrowing through dense bedrock.
Effect Radius: Approximately 20 km. Fauna within range exhibit panic, mass migrations, and collapse of established ecosystems.
Auditory Signature: SCP-001-B produces continuous resonant chittering transmitted through ground and atmosphere. Prolonged exposure induces paranoia, escalating to hysteria and eventual breakdown.

Comparison with SCP-001-A confirmed SCP-001-B belongs to a related but distinct guardian class. Whereas SCP-001-A functions as a Floor Guardian (defending access to a specific stratum of SCP-001), SCP-001-B is now formally designated as the first confirmed Area Guardian.
Area Guardians are territorial entities tasked with securing vast lateral expanses, caverns, and environmental zones within SCP-001's structure. Their control is not vertical but spatial, preventing traversal across the "living" architecture of the necropolis.
