Chapter 16 - Operation Drug Rush (3)

"Your brother studied philosophy? What the hell is that? I didn't know things like that existed…forget it. We're on opposing sides anyway" Sun blurted.

"You're correct…but you should give up." Missio replied. "My team should've dismantled everything in this building by now. It's no use to struggle."

"Who said I was going the struggle? I'll end this quickly, so brace yourself."

"What are you sayi-?"

Before Missio could respond, Sun flashed towards him, Lifting his staff. Missio's eyes dilated as he pulled his katana up, attempting to block the strike. He was sent flying, crashing into the wall causing the building to shake. He groaned, standing up with an eye closed. He looked at his katana which had been cracked.

'Damn…the thing can extend and is more durable than steel.'

His thoughts were cut short when Sun's staff began to enlarge. It pierced the roof, and Sun swung it with all his might, a grin spreading across his face. Missio's face paled as he put, he watched the staff break the building. It went towards him, and he held up his katana. The staff struck and he was sent flying as his katana shattered in pieces. He crashed into a tree, groaning. He lifted his head and saw the room had fallen apart.

He gritted his teeth, clutching his stomach.

'That…hurt…where is that guy?'

He scanned the surrounding and eventually saw Sun standing menacingly in the dust. The drug lord stepped out and gave him a surprised look.

"Wow…I thought you would've been knocked out by now…you're a tough nut."

"You…little…" Missio stood up, barely balancing himself.

Then, he took a good look at Sun's staff. It was lustrous black staff with a golden band on each end, inscribed with strange symbols. Missio pondered for a moment and then, it clicked. His jaw dropped as he asked Sun in a perplexed manner.

"You…how did you get that staff?"

"Staff? Why should I tell you?"

"How the hell did you get Sun Wukong's staff? How? It's not an artifact that one can obtain without…without…No…" Missio's voice lowered as a realization soon dawned on him.

He locked eyes with Sun and blinked. Sun grinned and let out a maniacal laugh. After a few moments, he stopped and looked at Missio with an even bigger grin.

"You finally realized it, didn't you? There's a reason even the government doesn't mess with me." Sun paused and then, frowned. "Yes…I'm that bastard of a god's avatar."

As his suspicions were confirmed, Missio's knees gave out. He fell, his brain blacking out from shock. Sun merely smirked and approached him, keeling in front of the poor enforcer. He clutched his chin with two fingers and said in a mocking tone.

"Aw…are ya gonna give up now, baby? Night – Nigh-"

Before Sun could finish his sentence, he was struck in the throat. He choked and fell onto his back. He felt some pain but nothing too major. He gritted his teeth and jumped up. Missio was standing with a determined look.

'This damn bastard…'

Sun's anger rose as he rushed towards Missio. Missio calmly went into a stance as Sun reached his range. He smashed an elbow into Sun's chin, kneed his chest, knocking the air out of him. He then grabbed him by his shirt and pivoted, throwing him over his shoulder. Sun had no time to react to the barrage but as he approached the ground, he was able to land on his feet. Sun paused for a moment before asking.

"What…was that?"

But no answer came back. Missio didn't hesitate and stepped into Sun's space. But Sun would not fall from the same trick twice. He swirled around, hitting Missio in his abdomen. Missio gritted his teeth, his vest blocking some of the damage. He tried to grab Sun, but the avatar was already expecting it and dodged. Missio was sent flying, rolling and being covered in mud. He quickly got back on his feet, locking eyes with his enemy.

The two wasted no word as all hell broke loose.

Krishna, Henry, Eira and Mary met up at the front entrance.

"So? How did you handle it?" Eira asked.

"We got it done quickly – no problem." Henry replied.

"Yeah, like how you were blasting music while we were tranquilizing the teens~" Krishna joked.

"Shut it" Henry hissed.

"Hey…where's Missio?" Mary asked with a worried face.

"Him? Oh, he should be fine. What can a teenager do to him?" Krishna replied.

Just as those words fell, a loud crash echoed throughout the jungle. Krishna turned his head around and saw a gigantic staff being swung around. It trampled the trees and slowly destroyed the building. The sound of rustling leaves, falling trees and metal caused the team to cover their ears.

"Guess, there's my answer…" Krishna sighed.

'This mission is making me uneasy…what are those guys planning?'

Missio ducked between Sun's blows, inching closer to the avatar. Sun rapidly increased and decreased the size of his staff, trampling the trees. Missio took a step forward but was met with Sun's staff. He squinted and grabbed the staff. He flew through the leaves and made it to the sky. He let go and started falling towards Sun. Sun frowned and shrunk his staff. As he brushed past the leaves, Missio threw his hilt at him and Sun instinctively blocked.

Missio didn't waste another second, landing a kick on Sun's head. Sun stood, stunned for a moment too long and Missio used that opening. He landed and took Sun off his legs. The next second, he jabbed his fingers into the avatar's throat. Then, he kicked him in the crotch. Following that, he punched him in the abdominal and elbowed his chin. For the finale, he spun around, his feet kicking of the ground. He leaned back and delivered a solid hook kick to the avatar's head. Sun flew off, crashing into a tree trunk.

His head spun in circles as the pain from the blows built up. He vomited and fell into mud. His ears rung like chimes and his vision blurred. After a few moments, he stood up once his head started to recover. He felt he was on the verge of going unconscious. His body reached high temperatures as adrenaline rushed through his veins.

'I…can't…lose…here…'

He made a decision. He stretched out his head and a portal appeared there. A second later, he pulled out a strange box as the portal closed. Missio approached him with slow steps, tired from the fight which had lasted no more than two minutes.

"Ready to give up yet?" He asked.

Sun chuckled with a hoarse voice and gripped the handle of the box.

"No."

He spun the handle of the box. Missio noticed this and rushed towards him, but it was already too late. He appeared in a black void with nothing in sight. He froze and looked around.

'Where the hell am I?!"

But his answer was given a second after. He heard a strange sound and turned around. He had no sense of danger as adrenaline was rushing through his entire body. Then, he froze and his pupils dilated. A large puppet like construct that seemed like a joker with red and black stripes was looking at him with pure dark eyes which looked like the void. The same for the mouth. It had no legs and seemed to be crawling out of the void.

'What…'

It smiled creepily and raised its mechanical arms. Missio's body froze - too scared to move. The puppet's arms closed in on him, covering his head as the world faded into darkness.
