Chapter 6 - Cyffle

Juno and Dex had been up from 2 in the morning, and it was now almost 4am. Juno's time in the white space had been a lot shorter than she had expected, which was a good thing. "Hey, maybe we should head on down to the town, I forgot to go shopping for breakfast so were going to have to eat out today." Dex commented.

Juno stretched and yawned before getting up off of her makeshift bed. "Alright, I actually have seen a few nice breakfasts places a few blocks from here, maybe we can go check it out?" Juno commented.

Dex nodded and began to pack his things up. after all, they could no longer stay where they were set up. there was no doubt that Voxgen would find this place, and they needed to be gone when they did. "After we eat, I have a few Fluxic coin left, hopefully it will be enough to get us a hotel for a night." Dex added, finishing packing up his things, his entire computer system had its own travel mechanism, when he pressed a red button on the side of the table it was on top of, the entire thing would fold up into a suitcase.

Juno went over to Mona's bed, and Mona stood up and looked up at Juno and Dex, she may have been a robot, but she had the mind of an animal. she couldn't tell what exactly was going on. Juno began to pack up Mona's bed, folding it up until it looked like some kind of briefcase.

Juno never questioned where Dex had the time to get a lot of his equipment, Mona's bed was something they had found in a dumpster, it was in need of repairs, and Juno and Dex both worked on it together. Juno use to go into code space with Dex, but something had happened that they had decided it was best she didn't anymore.

in that time, she had learned a lot about code with Dex, it was truly an interesting experience, but recently she had not been needing those skills. not since Dex had perfected 3 of the forms of code in his codex. He could hack just about anything and do just about anything. Her code skills weren't nearly as polished as his.

She did want to get back into learning code, but that would have to be saved for another day.

Juno, Dex, and Mona all one by one climbed out of the cellar. The sunlight hitting their eyes felt blinding, at least for Dex who spend majority of his time down in the cellar. the only other time he would ever come out, is when they needed food to eat, he would go to the store, usually at night though.

Juno looked around, making sure the coast was clear. Once she knew it was, she waved to Dex and Mona that it was safe to go.

the three walked for a few miles, eventually coming to a rusty sign that's name was pretty much nonexistent, only one letter 'O' was barely hanging on, the lights around the words and the sign, flickering purple as the one letter dangled, swinging back and forth.

entering the little town, unlike the sign, was pretty lively. it seemed like everybody knew each other in the small town. People waving to each other, having long conversations as their children played together. Juno had seen one person walking out of a store with little bags of groceries, waving goodbye to the workers with a friendly smile.

Juno had never really been in the town, she was often to obsessed with her main goal, Synthex. But now that she had it, she finally was taking the time out to get to actually look around at the beauty of the town she had been staying nearby for 3 years.

"Wow! I was so focused on my own goals, I never stopped too just, take in this amazing place!" Juno commented. Dex turned his head to look at her. "Your right, I usually only come out here at night, so I have never seen it this lively before." Dex said as the two eventually stopped walking, coming to their destination.

a small waffle house on the corner of the street, it looked cozy and the food smelled amazing from outside. "This is it, the place which food I want to try!" Juno said with a smile. Dex starred at her for a long moment, giving this disgusted look. mainly because the place didn't have many ratings, it had only one five-star rating, and that was probably just family.

"Don't give me that look Dex, who knows, you might be surprised!" Juno said with a smile. Dex gave a heavy sigh and opened the door for Juno. Juno entered the place, and Mona and Dex followed shortly behind her. It was decorated old fashion, a high contrast from the rest of the town, and definitely from neon city, the floors were wood, with a glossy shine to them, counters and tables covered with white table clothes, with flower patterns. hanging vine plants hung from the walls, cascading down across the walls, to give the place a nature like feel. with white curtains that were tied back to let the light in.

Juno, Dex, and Mona all went over to a booth and took a seat. there were three menus on the table, but Mona didn't need one.

The waiter walked over to them, a girl with green hair and blue eyes. she was holding her notepad but visibly shaking. Clearly it was her first time on the job "H-hello, welcome to Cyffle! may I take your picture- I MEAN- order!" the nervous Waiter said, Blushing in embarrassment.

Juno looked at Dex, who looked right back at her. then Juno looked at the waitress, her eye's falling on the womans name tag. "Bea's your name" Juno said with a nod.

"You don't have to be so tense, I can tell this is your first time on the job, isn't it?" Juno said, raising an eyebrow. Bea stiffened and nodded.

"Well, you're doing a good job. soon, you'll be doing it like a pro! it may be hard at first, but you'll get used to it!" Juno said with a smile.

Juno wasn't always an experienced street racer; at some point she needed practice. She used to stay with a motorcycle club and learned from them when she was young, she met Dex while she was staying with them, and Dex had become like a brother to her.

Eventually, that motorcycle club had to let them go. Mainly because Juno was a huge target of Voxgen, and it wasn't safe for her to stay with them any longer. Juno still remembered who she called family there, often wondering how they all were doing.

"Thank you, this is my first job, so I'm extremely nervous." Bea said, looking at her notepad. She turned her head, looking at the manager of the restaurant, that's when she remembered she was supposed to be taking their orders. "Ah! sorry!!" Bea said, quickly grabbing her pen she didn't notice she dropped earlier, and shakily prepping to write. "So, what would you guys like to eat?" Bea said with a nervous smile.

Dex looked at his menu, looking through it he then began to speak. "I'd like the Neon Stack Pancakes." He said, now flipping to the drinks. "And what would you like to drink with that?" Bea replied, writing his order down.

"Just a Blackout coffee" Dex replied.

Bea wrote that down, and then she turned to Juno.

"I'll have the Cyberhash bowl special, with a hot cocoa please" Juno said.

Once Bea wrote down the two's orders, she gave them a nod, let them know that she would bring their food shortly and then she began to walk off. But then Juno stopped her.

Bea turned her head, hearing Juno call her name. "Bea, can we get another Cyberhash bowl?" She asked. And Bea nodded and quickly wrote that down. "Coming right up!"

she said and proceeded to walk off.

once she was gone and out of ear shot, Dex began to speak quietly to Juno. "This place seems a little odd. Why are we the only one's here, do they not get any customers?" he said, speaking quietly.

Juno raised an eyebrow and looked around the place. Now that he had mentioned it, it was extremely odd, people walked by the building as if it wasn't even there.

and usually, that wouldn't be cause for alarm, but it wasn't just that they walked by like it wasn't there, one person looked straight at her through the glass window they were sitting next to, Juno was a little nervous that she would be spotted at any given moment, and right now she had no hood on her head, so she could be seen clearly, anyone who knew her as the person on the wanted papers could find her.

and yet, the person looking straight at her through the window, just walked away.

his gaze didn't even linger like he may have recognized her, nothing.

"Your right Dex... this is strange." Juno said, preparing to get up.

however, before she made that hasty decision, the front door of the restaurant opened, the bell jingling as it closed shut. In walked someone with a jacket on, they walked over to Juno and Dex and took a seat in one of the free booths behind theirs.

Juno's eyes immediately shifted to Mona, who had lifted her head and glared at the figure, Mona hissed at them, but the person said nothing.

"I think we should leave-" Dex started to mouth the words to Juno, but Juno raised a hand to stop him. "And where exactly would we go?" Juno said, her eyes shifting to Bea who walked over with their food. putting the plates down in front of them.

the mystery person waited for Juno, Dex, and Mona to take a bite of their food, Juno was the first to eat. Since she seemed fine, she continued to eat, and Dex and Mona followed suit. once they all had finished eating, that's when the mystery person began to pull off her hoodie.

Juno watched as Bea walked over to the front door and turned the sign so it would say 'closed'. Juno then looked over at the mysterious figure, and her eyes widened as she attempted to stand. only then did she notice, Dex and Mona had fell unconscious. She looked at the mysterious figure; her eyes widened in shock.

"Mira... your... alive...-" Juno said as her vision began to fade,

and she to fell unconscious.
