The morning sun poured through the wide windows, bathing the room in a soft gold. The table gleamed with quiet opulence — plates of croissants and folded crepes, bowls of berries and sliced melons glistening beside crystal glasses of orange juice lined the table.
Silver cutlery caught the light, and the scent of roasted coffee lingered in the calm air, wrapping the moment in a kind of effortless luxury.
Sebastian sat there, arm supporting his head, staring at the steam curling out of the marble plates and cups like a viper waiting to strike. It had been a minute since he'd settled down in this dining room — and also a minute since he'd reassured his dad that his P.A. was on his way.
