The nurse looked at Kate and silently begged her to say something, as Hilda's condition was not good. She could really die anytime soon.
Kate froze on the spot. She didn't know what to do, as she never expected herself to meet with her mother again.
She had considered her mother as dead meat and moved on with her life. She still paid for her nursing home, and all the expensive facilities, but never had any intention to visit her before her recurring nightmares.
"Mom…"
Hilda turned her head instantly as she recognized that voice.
She stared at her first daughter, who was standing at the door. Hilda also froze as she continued to look at Kate with wide eyes. With a voice full of hesitation, she asked, "Katherine? Is that you? I keep having dreams about you. I don't know if this one is just another dream."
Kate had a lot of conflicted feelings about her mother that she buried deep in her heart.
She was angry at her for favoring Erin.
