The nurse returned with a bowl of chicken porridge, which was easy for digestion. Kate fed her mother slowly, and Hilda cooperated as she didn't actually have any digestive or appetite issues. She just wanted to see her daughters, that was all she needed.
Kate and Henry talked with Hilda for another two hours after she had her food and medicine before Kate said, "Mom, I think Henry and I need to leave now. We need to catch a flight since the kids are waiting at home."
"Oh…" Hilda paused for a moment. If she could be honest, she'd jump from the bed, and hug Kate's leg, begging her to stay as she wanted to spend more time with her daughter.
Realistically, she knew that wasn't possible, so she held herself back and muttered, "If… if you are free, can you come and visit me again? Maybe once a week, a month, or… a year."
"… I will come again," Kate replied. "I promise."
