Worth mentioning, Old Bear's Leon was fully maxed out.
His gacha luck far surpassed Ah Xian's, practically the kind that'd win the lottery.
Two ten-pulls in the beginner banner got him three Leons.
Then, Seele's UP banner at 0+1 gave him three more.
Plus the base copy from the main story, he casually achieved full Constellations.
Mind you, Leon's UP rate wasn't even boosted.
"Leon's 6th Constellation reflects DoTs. Just a treasure chest mob—watch me take it down."
"If I can't beat this, I'll livestream stealing my sister's clothes and wearing them, including her underwear!"
[??]
[You say that, and now I, Sichuan-Chongqing Bear, am locking onto you, Old Bear.]
[Any qipao? No ulterior motives, just wanna see thigh-slit leg hair…]
[Just imagining it feels sexy and alluring. I'm standing at attention.]
[Insane viewers, but I still gotta see Old Bear in women's clothing.]
[Most hoping for the episode where Leon can't save the team from wiping.]
Old Bear glanced at the chat, unfazed.
"Give it up, folks. When this streamer sets a flag, it's with full confidence—never flipped."
He activated Leon's Technique.
"You—come here!"
With the provocative voice line ringing out, switching to Seele, he landed a scythe hit on the treasure chest mob.
Entering battle, the Automaton Grizzly targeted Asta again.
But this time, Leon's Ultimate came to the rescue.
"Phew, good thing I farmed enough energy from earlier fights for Father's Ultimate, or my Asta would've dropped again."
"Damn, what's Mihoyo doing tossing such a strong treasure chest mob on the map?"
"Whatever, perfect chance to study Leon's Ultimate buff mechanics."
Opening the battle info screen, he switched to the enemy tab to check debuffs.
[Illusory Dream]
[Cannot be dispelled]
When applying Action Delay or Control-type debuffs to an ally target,
the ally target is immune to the debuff and retaliates against the enemy, triggering up to once.
When applying Damage Over Time (DoT) debuffs to an ally target, it retaliates against the enemy without consuming Illusory Dream's trigger count.
[Bleed]—2 turns remaining
For a set number of turns, the target takes Physical damage at the start of each turn.
"Sure enough, it reflected the DoT, but why does Asta still have the same Bleed? That's not right, is it?"
[I tried it. Leon's 6th Constellation reflects DoTs, true, but it doesn't say it grants immunity.]
Old Bear had a realization.
Fair point—the text was airtight this time.
Leon's Ultimate clearly stated it only granted immunity to Action Delay and Control-type debuffs.
The 6th Constellation's DoT reflection effect didn't mention immunity.
"Thinking about it, not being immune to DoTs makes sense."
"After all, reflecting DoTs doesn't consume Illusory Dream's trigger count.
If it reflected and granted immunity, enemies that rely on DoTs would lose all purpose."
"Plus, I heard from a beta streamer that a future character stacks damage based on taking hits.
If I recall, it's Blade.
DoTs can stack for Blade. If public release Blade keeps beta skills, a full-Constellation Leon with DoT immunity wouldn't pair well with him."
"Limited control immunity is already strong. Full immunity to specific damage types? Honestly, that'd be too broken.
No way a designer who's not drunk would create such an OP sustain character, especially a four-star."
Besides, Old Bear thought Leon was already absurdly strong.
Leaving aside other skill effects, just the Illusory Dream state from his Ultimate felt like the designers were tipsy.
Why? Simple.
Illusory Dream had no turn limit…
Meaning—
As long as the single trigger wasn't used up by a control effect, Illusory Dream would stay on the enemy forever.
Imagine if the 6th Constellation reflected DoTs and granted control immunity. What would happen to mobs or bosses relying on DoTs without hard control?
They'd be unplayable!
Be it small fry or boss, they'd kneel and call Leon "Daddy."
In the following fight, though some of Old Bear's characters' health bars occasionally danced, no one went down.
"Looks like even someone as strong as Father has a tiny flaw early on."
"His Talent for counterattacks on enemies with attack-down debuffs isn't unlocked yet, so it barely triggers against single enemies.
Overall, the flaws don't outweigh the strengths. His Skill's fixed healing is super friendly for newbies."
"I didn't notice in low-pressure fights, but his Skill's healing isn't tied to level."
"Base three ticks plus two from Constellations—total 500 HP restored to the whole team."
"The amount's average late-game but god-tier early on, no explanation needed. Look at my team's health now."
Many viewers glanced at the bottom of the screen, eyes widening in realization.
Old Bear's tankiest character had only 467 HP.
Meaning, as long as they weren't dead, Leon's Skill could fully heal them.
That healing was unmatched in the early game—constant Bailu couldn't compete.
Even Natasha, with a 90-energy Ultimate, needed 2-3 turns to charge early on.
Her healing was low, not even half of Leon's Skill.
Leon's Skill gave the whole team 500 HP each time, a gap far beyond a small difference early on.
Beyond his Skill, Leon had his Ultimate too.
The healing wasn't fixed across levels—only 234 at level 1.
But with relevant Constellations adding +2 levels, level 3 healed 468.
Not as much as his Skill, but it was free emergency healing, enough to top off Old Bear's team now.
[Father is great! Only his Ultimate needs upgrading.]
[Ultimate grass-squeezing milk machine—cost-effective and practical.]
[Even his Talent's 10% resistance reduction is fixed across levels, saving resources to this extent—I'm crying.]
Mihoyo's gacha games are resource-hungry early on.
You barely scrape enough to raise one main DPS.
In Honkai: Star Rail, with four-person teams, beyond the main DPS, the other three make do with scraps.
But as levels rise, survival pressure grows.
By then, sustain characters' investment can't lag.
Character levels, skill levels, even Light Cone levels need to keep up.
Leon's different.
Upgrading his skills only boosts his Ultimate's healing.
The rest just add damage.
In resource-scarce times, expecting a sustain to deal damage isn't worth it.
As long as Leon survives in battle, a token level is enough, saving resources for where they matter.
Surviving? Too easy.
His base HP and Defense are high, and his Relics use HP and Defense.
What a frugal character!
"Take off!"
Leon summoned a hurricane, sweeping up the enemy, finishing the fight with a stylish flourish.
[Leon's move suddenly feels like something from TV.]
[What TV?]
[KOF's boss, Goenitz—his nickname's 'TV.']
[Now that you mention it, Leon's Skill kinda feels like Goenitz's 'Owakare desu,' misheard as 'I watched TV.']
[Lots of wind-based characters have this vibe, like the brick factory foreman, Wind Mage.]
"Stop debating what it's like. I said my flag won't fall!"
Old Bear grinned smugly.
"Leon, my Superman!"
