I rushed out of the creavas straight towards the kobold. The kobold quickly turned to face me, but not fast enough.
I tackled him to the ground nocking the torch and spear out of his hand. We wrestled on the ground clawing and bitting at each other. I eventually managed to get my between us and slashed at his belly. My claws found purchase and blood gushed all over me but I was to focused to care as I avoided the Kobolds jaws.
I push the Kobold away using my legs. Launching him into the cave wall. Quickly rising to my feet I check myself. Thankfully I suffered only minor cuts. Focusing on my opponent I saw him rising as well. He was also covered in cuts with the worst being on his chest which were bleeding badly.
As our eyes locked I finally understood what was missing. Their was no emotion in those eyes. His eyes showed No fear, no anger, only hunger.
Without hesitation he charged at me. Out of the corner of my eye I saw the spear the Kobold had dropped in the beginning of the fight. Acting fast I snatch the spear up, placing the but into floor and line the spear right in the path of the charging kobold.
The Kobold Impaled it's self upon the spear. It's charge pushed it halfway down the pole before stopping. We stood there meir inches from each other our eyes locked one final time as I watched the hunger slowly wither away.
The body eventually went limp forcing me to drop the spear. A ding sounded in my head before I process what had happened.
