I entered her chambers, expecting to find her there as usual. Instead, the silence of the room greeted me.
The curtains swayed softly in the wind, but the warmth of her presence was gone. Varak's restless voice hissed inside my mind, pacing like a caged beast.
Where the hell was she, and wasn't she in her room?
"I need to see her," Varak growled."I need to see her," Varak growled.
"I crave her presence, not her energy," I muttered softly.
I had tried to ignore him for hours, hoping his irritation would fade away, but his hunger for her grew louder. I told myself I came here to quiet him, not because I wanted to see her. Yet, even as I thought it, I knew it was a lie.
The room was empty. Her scent lingered faintly — that soft, honeyed lavender fragrance that had begun to haunt me, but she was nowhere in sight.
Her servant, Elias, was gone as well. That woman rarely left her side, and I couldn't help but wonder where they could be.
