Outside of the barrier;
Hiruzen arrived, accompanied by the 3 advisors, "Fang, what is happening? Who dares to attack the Uchiha?"
Fang, the captain of the Anbu responsible for surveying the Uchiha, kneeled, addressing the hokage as the fellow clan leaders who had gathered paid careful attention.
"Lord Hokage, around 6 pm, a barrier was raised over the Uchiha compound. We were alerted by the loss of chakra signatures as the barrier arose. I immediately sent Hare to inform you, lord hokage. The Uchiha have no need to erect such a barrier, one where they trapped themselves within…"
"The actions of the Uchiha are not for the likes of you to mull over!" Danzo interrupted, if it was true, then he welcomed the annihilation of the Uchiha.
"Danzo." Hiruzen gave Danzo a sharp look, and all around them, although most kept their faces neutral, most disapproved of Danzo, while they also did not look kindly upon the Uchiha they recognized that the Uchiha was the strongest clan in the Uchiha thus were necessary for the survival of the village.
"We sent men into the barrier, but none have returned. If they have not been killed, then I assume the barrier prevents those inside from leaving. We have attacked the formation for the past hour, but we haven't managed to bring it down."
"I understand." Hiruzen walked towards the barrier and, after analyzing it for a bit. "It will take too long if we break the barrier through fuinjutsu. Everyone, launch your strongest jutsu, bring it down." Hiruzen ordered, and he himself retreated with the gathered shinobi as everyone cast seals, preparing their jutsu."On my count, launch the jutsus. We will overwhelm it."
Hiruzen made the yang body seal. "Fire style; Hell, fire dragon!" A pitch-black dragon soared, shooting towards the barrier alongside him, "Wind style: Cleaving wind." A large crescent-shaped wind blade, larger than the dragon, shot towards the barrier, seamlessly combining with the dragon.
"BOOOM!" A mushroom of explosions erupted as increasingly Jutsus landed on the barrier. For ten minutes, the shinobi constantly bombarded the barrier. "Crack!" Unable to hold on, the barrier cracked, a fissure enlarging. With vigor, more jutsus rained down on the barrier. Eventually, it collapsed and with a shattering sound, what welcomed them was bellowing smoke at the center of the compound.
Inside the barrier;
"Father, what do we do now?" Itachi, at 13 years of age, was already a leading figure amongst Konoha's shinobi. His talent is often thought to eclipse that of Shisui.Looking at his son, Fugaku felt proud. Itachi has stood with the clan when it mattered. "Summon the others. We will break out by force if we must." Fugaku ordered as suddenly the barrier shook."Attack the barrier!" He bellowed instantly, having an idea of what was going on. Towards the edge of the barrier, the survivors immediately stopped, and fire jutsus blasted away. Within half a dozen minutes, the barrier had fallen.
Underground Zetsu moved undetected. 'Well, it seems Obito had failed.' White Zetsu thought. 'It was a half-baked plan. Disappointing as he is, at least we now know to watch out for the Uchiha.' Black Zetsu thought as he moved undetected, exiting the village. Getting out, White Zetsu let out a sigh, "It's gonna be harder to infiltrate next time." Last time it was the nine-tails attack, and this time it was the Uchiha clan. The barrier surrounding the village would be strengthened.
In the Uchiha compound;
"Fugaku, what is happening? Who attacked the Uchiha?" Hiruzen asked, stepping into the center of the Uchiha compound, or what remained of it. From the destruction, he could tell the battle had been intense."Lord Hokage." Fugaku bowed slightly, "We are still investigating the culprit's identity, but he used both the sharingan and wood style during the attack."Fugaku's words drew sharp breaths from everyone. The clan leaders and elite jonins had gathered to hear Fugaku's account, but none of them had expected such information.
"What?!" Ide Senju stood shocked, unable to believe what he was hearing, about to say something, he stopped the hokage's gaze silencing him.
"Explain." Hiruzen's face was dark as he understood the overwhelming power of the first hokage, and enemies bearing such power in the dark raised alarms.
Yashiro stepped forward, "Lord Hokage, it is like this…" Yashiro's explanation about the scent, his clash with the masked man, and Fugaku's arrival then to investigation regarding the origin of those scents during the battle enlightened the group. Less than a dozen people knew that there were 2 attackers, and of those, only 3 knew of the rinnegan." The enemy was strong, but his wood style was nowhere near the first Hokage. He was strong but not strong enough to cause such destruction by himself." Fugaku's words drew attention to him; their eyes widened with clarity as they also thought the damage was a bit excessive. "I don't know what he hid in the other eye, but he had the ability to manipulate space. Amidst our battle, he often teleported to blind spots and even brought another figure to join the battle. The 2nd assailant was talented in water style Jutsus, even capable of holding off my flames."
Shock appeared on everyone's faces at the mention of space-time ninjutsu, as only the fourth hokage was widely known to be its sole bearer. After a few moments of silence, different looks were shot towards Fugaku. They now had some idea of how much of an uphill battle it must have been. "Forgive me for doubting your words, Fugaku, but how did you hold back such foes with minor injuries from that, I can tell?" Danzo's words asked the question at the back of everyone's minds.
While they could accept that Fugaku was stronger than they thought, he wouldn't be that overwhelmingly strong."Ohh...and why must I?" Fugaku shot Danzo a gaze of hate as he hadn't forgotten to settle debts regarding Shisui."I seem to recall Shisui Uchiha walking into Root Headquarters to warn you about the masked man capable of Wood Style, yet he returned with a missing mangekyo sharingan. What happened there, Danzo?"
