Chapter 249: Black Crystal
We turned our final attention to Lack-Two and Whi-Two, who had entered the Ultra Crater. But as soon as they landed, they were almost in tears: a large group of metallic beings surrounded them.
However, to their surprise, these metallic beings didn't seem to intend to attack them. On the contrary, although they surrounded them, they not only didn't harm them, but also greeted them amicably.
Lack-Two looked at these giant, nine-meter-tall Celesteela and whispered to Whi-Two, "These Celesteela seem very friendly and gentle."
Whi-Two also took a closer look at the Celesteela. Their bodies were mostly made of metal, with a large pillar on each side. Eight smaller cylindrical sections extended from the ends of these pillars, serving as arms. Most of their bodies were gray and cyan, while their chins and mouths were visible beneath the gray helmets of the cylindrical sections, along with their slender necks. Two prominent protrusions were distributed along their narrow necks.
Its neck leads to its body, which is covered with alternating blue and white hexagonal patterns. The upper body is encased in a gradient green shell, each section being rectangular, with shorter rectangles being darker in color.
From the collar, a gray metallic shell encases the body, forming a circle that tilts forward from the neck. A white drill-like point extends from the helmet. The helmet has evenly distributed spots of several colors, and its lower half is forked, extending outwards with four tentacles resembling bamboo shoots. Behind these tentacles, a metallic shell extends, like streaming hair, also forked at the end.
The arms are shaped like bamboo, divided into several sections, with the uppermost opening having a blue edge and a golden interior, and a white outline around each section. The palms have eight outward-sloping black cylinders, with openings resembling the arms. The palms are dark green, but the inner openings are golden.
Each black cylinder has a blue flag-like section at its base, extending to the wrist. Eight black cylinders, similar to rockets, also extend from the bottom of its body.
Just when Lack-Two and Whi-Two thought that the Celesteela were relatively harmless, the Celesteela lost their curiosity about them. They emitted high-intensity energy from the bottom of their bodies and the bottom of their hands, propelled by the energy, and flew away.
Covered in soot from the blast, Lack-Two and Whi-Two exchanged a glance: While the Celesteela were gentle, their burst of energy could still be harmful!
They temporarily abandoned their plan to capture the Celesteela. After all, the Celesteela seemed to move in groups; if one was alone, they could try to capture it, but if a large group came, running away was the most important thing. The two released their Vibrava, which grabbed Lack-Two and Whi-Two's shoulders and flew upwards.
From the air, they were in a crater, but outside, miniature volcanoes continued to spew smoke, and some stalagmites were scattered in the gaps between large craters or ring-shaped mountains. Lack-Two and Whi-Two also saw some Celesteela flying from large craters into exposed rock formations to absorb energy; this was probably their survival strategy.
After flying a short distance further, some peculiar objects caught their attention. Lack-Two stopped the Vibrava and looked at the huge square rocks below, saying, "Are those the Stakataka that Ryan mentioned?"
Whi-Two glanced at them and said, "I've never seen them before either. Let's go take a look. Judging from their appearance, they should be relatively easy to deal with."
With that, the two of them had the Vibrava land, successfully landing on the huge square rocks. Whi-Two thought for a moment, then took out an Ultra Ball and tapped it against the rock beneath her feet. Instantly, the huge square rock turned into red light and entered the Ultra Ball.
The Vibrava quickly grabbed onto the two of them; otherwise, falling from that height of five meters, even if they didn't die, would be painful for quite some time.
Looking at the motionless Ultra Ball, Whi-Two said speechlessly, "You caught it just like that? That's too easy!"
Lack-Two was also speechless for a moment, but when he saw the Stakataka, his eyes lit up and he said, "Isn't it better to be this easy? These are a lot of points! Let's catch them quickly!"
After saying that, Lack-Two and Whi-Two took out a lot of Ultra Balls in perfect unison, and then caught the Stakataka one by one.
After capturing the last Stakataka, Whi-Two laughed and said, "That was easy! I didn't expect these Stakataka to be captured so easily, without any resistance. They're really docile."
Lack-Two nodded with a smile as well. But as the Stakataka disappeared, the land suddenly trembled, and then a stream of scorching water shot the land directly into the sky.
"How can there be a geyser here?!" Whi-Two cried out in despair, as they were shot into the air more than ten meters high by the geyser.
It's no wonder the geyser was so powerful; the weight of so many Stakataka was astonishing. It was they who had compressed the land so tightly, suppressing the geyser that was supposed to erupt. And so the geyser was tragically suppressed, storing up its power.
As the Stakataka were captured one by one, the pressure above lessened. The geyser suddenly erupted, shooting the land directly into the sky.
"Vibrava! Come save us!!!" Lack-Two also screamed.
The two Vibrava were speechless at their trainers' predicament, but still rushed towards them, quickly grabbing their shoulders. The two were out of danger and were just about to celebrate when a small black object hit Whi-Two on the head.
"Ouch! What's this?" Whi-Two touched the spot where she'd been hit, finding a small black crystal about the size of her little finger.
"Lack-Two, do you know what this is?" Whi-Two asked Lack-Two, shaking the black crystal in her hand.
"It looks familiar! Wait! Doesn't this look like that thing that attacked our Pokémon? Black crystal, the material seems similar!" Lack-Two instantly realized and shouted.
Whi-Two also realized it, and her expression became quite complicated. She was torn between throwing it away and keeping it.
Meanwhile, the two had landed. The geyser had washed away a large area of land, and the resulting crater was gradually filling with warm hot spring water, forming a natural hot spring pool.
After discussing it for a while, the two decided to keep the crystal. However, for now, they'd find a place to hide it and take it out when Ryan came to pick them up.
