Chapter 246: Inscription on the Stone Tablet
In the Ultra Jungle, Blue and Crystal sat bored on a vine, looking down at a swarm of Buzzwole, and sighed helplessly.
The Ultra Jungle was a tropical rainforest at the foot of a volcano, containing three towering trees. The shape of these trees resembled the muscular poses of Buzzwole, and the trees were connected by thick vines. Blue and Crystal had barely escaped the attention of these Buzzwole by hiding on these vines.
"Are these Buzzwole all muscle in their heads? Why are they chasing us like this?" Blue said helplessly.
"Single-minded creatures shouldn't think too much. We don't know what they're up to either," Crystal said.
Just as she finished speaking, a Buzzwole flew up carrying some Berries, offered them to Blue and Crystal, struck a bodybuilding pose, and then fell straight down, crashing heavily to the ground. Even so, it still maintained a muscular pose, earning unanimous praise from all the Buzzwole.
"Well, at least they don't seem to have any ill intentions," Blue said, eating a Berry. "But we don't know what they're up to, so it's best to be careful."

"What's there to be afraid of? If they wanted to kill us, they would have done it already. Since they're giving us Berries, it means they don't want us to die, and they're even trying to please us," Blue said nonchalantly.

Where the Buzzwole had gathered, bursts of explosions could be heard from time to time. When Blue and Crystal arrived, they found that the Buzzwole were fighting another group of Ultra Beasts.
"Isn't that a Blacephalon? How come there are some here too?" Crystal asked curiously.
That's right, the Ultra Beasts fighting the Buzzwole were indeed a group of Blacephalon. The Buzzwole were being crushed. Yes, the Buzzwole, outnumbering the Blacephalon by more than three times, were being utterly overwhelmed.
The reason was simple: Buzzwole were Bug/Fighting type, while Blacephalon were Fire/Ghost type. These muscle-bound Buzzwole, with their relentless Fighting-type moves, were no match for the Ghost-type Blacephalon.
And the Blacephalon would occasionally unleash a devastating Mind Blown—the scene was... well, like fireworks, exploding in a huge area!
Blue covered his face and said, "I can't stand it! Should we help them? At least they haven't attacked us and they've given us food. If our long-term food supply is gone, who will feed us?"
Crystal: You were right about the second half of your sentence.
Although Blue and Crystal were still a little wary of Buzzwole, they felt a bit guilty seeing them being bullied so badly. So, they sent out their Pangoro.
The two Pangoro landed heavily, looking extremely fierce. They bit bamboo leaves in their mouths, then placed their hands in front of their chests, gathering Dark-type energy. They then unleashed two Dark Pulse attacks into the middle of the Blacephalon. With a loud bang, the Blacephalon were blasted away one by one.
Then, the Pangoro used Knock Off, gathering Dark-type energy in their hands, and charged into the middle of the Blacephalon like a tiger entering a flock of sheep—it was a brutal assault! The Blacephalon were probably stunned and didn't fight back, abandoning some of their companions and running away.
Blue and Crystal landed and took out Ultra Balls to capture all the Blacephalon. Only then did the Buzzwole react, and a large swarm rushed over.
Just as Blue and Crystal thought they were in trouble, the swarm of Buzzwole started showing off their muscles again. Crystal covered her forehead and said, "Sure enough, I was worried about a bunch of muscle-bound idiots. I must be crazy."
Blue was also speechless at the swarm of Buzzwole, but his sharp eyes suddenly pointed to the volcano and said, "Crystal, look what's that?"
Crystal followed Blue's finger and looked at the volcano. She saw a stone tablet standing on the mountainside of the volcano. The two exchanged a glance, then immediately recalled their Pangoro and had the Vibrava carry them towards the stone tablet. The Buzzwole, oblivious to everything else, immediately followed and flew towards the volcano.
When the two reached the mountainside of the volcano, they saw the stone tablet, which was taller than a person. Crystal looked at the inscription on the stone tablet and said, "It's alright, we can read this. It's just that the damage is quite severe, let me take a look."
After saying that, Crystal pointed to the characters and read them one by one: "The fundamental nature of the world is... two, possessing both light and darkness. Light... darkness. But power... much... and... failure. Its use of power will gradually weaken... and that is the true form. Do not believe... I hope you will be spared."
"What the heck?" Blue, also not understanding clearly, exclaimed.
Crystal shook her head and said, "The damage is too severe; this is all we can decipher. It seems to be about origins, which have both light and darkness. Blue shrugged and said, "If you can't figure it out, don't think about it. I'll take a picture, and then we'll leave the rest to Ryan to worry about."
With that, Blue took out his camera from his backpack and photographed the stone tablet and the inscription on it, intending to give it to Ryan later. What they didn't know was that this photograph would be a crucial clue for subsequent events, helping Ryan solve all the mysteries!
