Chapter 172: Arceus Arrives
While the others were held back by Ryan's Pokémon, Ryan now faced a Champion, the Elite Four, and three unpredictable individuals.
To put it bluntly: he didn't even have a 10% chance of winning, but he'd endured all this time just for this day!
That wasn't to say Ryan had no chance of winning. After all, Rayquaza was temporarily disabled, but Groudon and Kyogre were still on his side. Now that the battle was about to begin, Groudon and Kyogre refused to hold back and unleashed their full power!
Groudon swung his massive arms fiercely, his domain governed by gravity. Without the protection of his domain, all flight was nullified! He also planted his feet firmly on the ground, providing himself with a constant supply of power!
Kyogre summoned deep-sea vortices. He was the master of the ocean, and no Water-type Pokémon could stand up to him within his domain!
Even without Rayquaza's sky domain, these two domains were already a formidable challenge for the League. Wallace was completely useless. His main team was Water-type, and he was completely suppressed by Kyogre's domain, unable to move.
"Is this the power of a Legendary Pokémon? No wonder my father would pursue such power so fiercely. The difference in strength is too great." Silver, who had already left the battlefield, watched the rampaging Groudon and Kyogre, and a desire to capture them arose within him, no matter what method he had to use!
"It feels a bit overkill, but Mew, I'll leave it to you," Lance muttered, taking in the scene before him.
As Lance's voice fell, a petite pink Pokémon suddenly appeared in the space. It resembled a pink kitten, with a tail about twice its body length, tipped in an oval shape, and triangular eyes. Who else could it be but Mew?
Mew circled the crater, looking at the suffering humans with a look of pity on its face. Then, a pink light barrier spread from its body, forcibly suppressing Groudon and Kyogre's domains.
"Mew!" Ryan's face went pale. He had never expected Mew, the ancestor of all Pokémon, to side with the League.
"Mew, why are you helping them? Why are you siding with the League?!" Ryan shouted.
Mew shook its head and telepathically replied, "I have my reasons. Please forgive me."
Mew then forcibly used its domain to suppress Groudon and Kyogre. Ryan could hardly believe his eyes. Mew didn't have particularly impressive stats in the games, but in reality, known as the ancestor of all Pokémon, it possessed a power approaching that of the Creator.
Mew's domain was pure creation. But Mew had overlooked one crucial Pokémon—or rather, two. That Pokémon was Mewtwo. Mewtwo's destructive essence naturally countered Mew's creative power. Because of this essence, Mewtwo was the only Pokémon capable of moving freely within Mew's domain.
Ryan's Mewtwo condensed a psychic spoon and pointed it directly at Mew: "If you want to hurt Ryan, you'll have to get past me first."
As Mewtwo finished speaking, two figures descended from the sky: the other Mewtwo and Lugia. The second Mewtwo also looked at Mew with a complicated expression. Lugia cried out to Ryan twice, implying: What you said before wasn't wrong!
"I can't help it. The League has called out Mew, and I'm at my wit's end," Ryan said helplessly.
At the same time, Ryan was contacting the system to see if there was any way to deal with this situation. But the system was helpless at this point. After all, Mew was far more powerful than anything he could handle. In Ryan's current state, he was simply unable to face a being of Mew's level.
"Lugia, are you going to betray the League too?" Lance frowned at Lugia and asked.
Lugia was also in a dilemma. This situation was beyond its ability to handle. Mew shook its head and said telepathically: "Don't blame Lugia. It also owes this young man a favor. Young man, I have no intention of interfering in your affairs, but your Floette is too dangerous. If you let it grow unchecked, the consequences will be disastrous."
"Heh." Ryan said disdainfully, "Is Floette bothering you? I want to know if it has brought you disaster right now? I've helped seal the power of destruction within it, and it can't hurt anyone at all. When it can master this power completely, it can control it at will. How could it bring disaster?"
"Do you know how catastrophic it will be if it loses control?" Lance said in a cold voice.
"How could it possibly lose control with me here?!" Ryan said disdainfully. "Besides, isn't it ironic that you're saying this?!"
At this moment, Phoebe and Glacia stepped forward and said, "I think Ryan is right. Since he can bond with Floette, it means he does have the power to control it. Otherwise, the catastrophic power of Floette alone would be enough to destroy everything."
Seeing that his own Elite Four members stood up to speak for Ryan, Lance frowned and said, "Phoebe, Glacia. Don't forget your positions."
Phoebe sneered and said, "I haven't confronted you about the League and Team Rocket yet. I just realized it now. Tell me, why did Team Magma go to Mt. Chimney to steal the orb? I just happened to be assigned by the League to handle that mission. What are you hiding? If you don't give me an explanation, I'm resigning from the Elite Four."
Glacia also said, "I want to step down from the Elite Four as well. I came to Hoenn to train my Ice-type Pokémon. I'm not accomplishing my goals here, and the League has revealed its shady dealings. I don't intend to continue being one of the Elite Four."
Two of the Elite Four had instantly turned against Lance, and he was beginning to feel a headache. After all, they were Elite Four members. If this got out, the League would likely suffer heavy losses.
Subconsciously, Lance's gaze turned cold. Phoebe and Glacia felt a sudden sense of danger. From the shadows behind them, Darkrai suddenly leaped out, piercing toward the two women with Shadow Claw. Phoebe and Glacia's expressions dropped. Their Pokémon had already lost their combat capabilities and were powerless to block this attack.
"Mewtwo, block it," Ryan said.
Ryan's Mewtwo instantly appeared before the two women, blocking Darkrai's attack with its psychic spoon. Simultaneously, with both hands exerting force, it sent Darkrai flying. Mewtwo grabbed both women, one in each arm, and teleported them to Ryan's side.
"You... you tried to kill us!" Phoebe and Glacia were furious. They had finally witnessed the League's ruthlessness. The League had completely lost two of its Elite Four members.
The system then chimed in, "Host, there's another way. I wonder if you're willing to risk it."
"Tell me what it is. Nothing's too valuable right now!" Ryan practically roared.
"The Splash Plate," the system said. "I can use it to summon Arceus, but there's a good chance Arceus will ignore us and take the Plate away. Do you think it's feasible?"
Ryan remained silent. Then, looking at Lillie, Ruby, and the others, he gritted his teeth and said, "Let's take a gamble. System, summon it. If we die, we die together!"
"Understood."
As the system's voice fell, a massive spatial distortion converged within the area, causing space itself to warp and shatter, completely breaking through Mew's domain.
A pristine white hoof with golden tips stepped out of the shattered space, followed by a majestic head. Everyone present gasped: Arceus!
Arceus slowly walked out of the shattered space, looked around, and said, "Everyone, stand down. Don't engage in meaningless fighting."
"Arceus! Why are you here? Don't forget your sins!" Mew shouted.
"I'm still atoning, so I'm here just to mediate." Arceus said. "Someone gathered one of my Plates and used it to summon me. Therefore, I will protect him."
After saying this, Greninja trembled violently, and a blue Plate floated out, then merged into Arceus's body. Arceus's cross-shaped wheel instantly turned blue. Arceus said calmly, "I will protect him. Who dares to challenge me?!"
Then, a powerful aura spread out. All the Legendary Pokémon lowered their heads. No Pokémon dared to disobey Arceus, including Mew!
