Chapter 36 - Chapter 36 Encounter, the collision between the Pirate King and the Navy King! (Two in one)

Chapter 36: Encounter, the Clash of the Pirate King and the Navy King! (Two-in-One)

Ripples push ripples, waves pile upon waves.

Across the boundless ocean, the Oro Jackson slowly sailed past, leaving a trail of white water in its wake.

On board, the crew of the Roger Pirates gathered on the deck, laden with food and fine wine. As glasses clinked, a group of men embraced each other's shoulders, singing loudly. The jubilant atmosphere filled the previously tranquil sea with an unusually lively atmosphere.

  This was the pirates' feast.

"Captain Roger, this time, we've obtained the Zou signpost history text, plus the one we obtained from Fishman Island."

"We now have two pieces of the signpost history text."

"Two more, and we'll be able to reach the Final Island!"

  "Congratulations, Captain!"

On the deck, Langram raised his glass high and congratulated Captain Roger, his face filled with excitement. Legend has it that the final island holds endless treasures, the dream of every pirate.

  "Hahahaha!"

"It's too early to congratulate, Langram."

"When Linlin left the Rocks Pirates, she took the historical text from Rocks. I snatched the rubbing from her, but it's been blurred by the sea."

"This time, I plan to have Oden translate it directly."

"But, trying to snatch something from Linlin isn't that easy!"

  "Hahahaha!"

Roger laughed heartily, raised the bottle, gestured to Langram, and gulped down the contents. After

downing the drink, Roger's smile faded. Although the crew celebrated happily, Roger seemed less enthusiastic, only smiling in response when the other crew members toasted him.

  "What's wrong, Roger?"

Silvers Rayleigh, who was drinking beside Roger, noticed Roger's low mood and asked softly. Rayleigh was Roger's first companion when he went to sea. Everyone else called Roger the captain, but only Rayleigh would call Roger by his name affectionately.

"We have already found out the whereabouts of the remaining two pieces of historical texts. It's only a matter of time before we get them."

"Except for the one in Linlin's hand, the location of the last piece of historical text is in Oden's hometown, Wano Country."

"But there is one thing I have always cared about."

"I learned from Oden that the historical text was created by the ancestors of the Kozuki clan in Wano Country - an indelible stone tablet."

"There are two types of stone tablets. One records the route that leads to the final island. It is called the red signpost historical text."

"The other kind records the blank 100 years of history - the information historical text. There are 26 pieces of this kind."

"I have collected 18 pieces of information historical texts one after another. I want to explore the history of the disappeared 100 years! I want to know why the World Government erased that period of history."

"There is a shocking secret hidden here. Only by collecting all the historical texts can the secrets here be revealed."

"But the whereabouts of the remaining eight pieces of information historical texts are still unknown."

  "Rayleigh, time is running out!"

Roger and Rayleigh exchanged low voices, a hint of urgency evident in Roger's words. He wasn't entirely satisfied with the current progress in collecting the historical texts.

He knew he had a terminal illness and that his time was running out. Before his death, Roger couldn't resist the urge to delve into the truth of history, to fulfill his dream of traveling the world, to reach the Final Island.

Now, his dream of traveling the world was almost fulfilled, with only the Final Island remaining to climb. Furthermore, he had only uncovered a fraction of the 100 years of history erased by the World Government.

The glimpse he had just gained was enough to shock Roger. Even a man as knowledgeable as him could be alarmed by such buried history.

  "

  Don't overthink it, Roger."

"Let's finish the task at hand first, and we can deal with the rest later."

"Perhaps, as we continue our work, we'll find out about the other historical texts,"

Rayleigh said soothingly after a moment's silence.

Everyone knew of Roger's illness, but no one except Rayleigh offered him comfort. Roger had always taken his life lightly, pursuing an unfulfilled dream.

"Captain Roger, why do you look so down?"

"Let me show you a trick to cheer you up!"

As Roger and Rayleigh were talking, a red-nosed boy, about 12 or 13 years old, noticed Roger's mood, put down his cup, crossed the crowd, and approached Roger, saying with a smile.

Without waiting for Roger to speak, he pulled five apples from the table and performed a "ball-tossing" trick for Roger. The five apples were thrown into a circle by the red-nosed boy.

  "Stupid Buggy!"

"Captain Roger doesn't want to see your clumsy performance! Get out of the way of me drinking and eating."

Just then, a boy with short red hair suddenly jumped out from behind Buggy and kicked him in the butt, sending the defenseless Bucky sprawling.

The apples, one by one, smashed into Buggy's head and rolled to the side.

Roger looked at Buggy who had fallen in front of him in astonishment and slowly stood up. Suddenly, he pointed at Buggy and laughed, "Hey! Buggy, your nose is bleeding!"

  "Hahaha!"

Buggy sat on the floor, touched his nose with his hand, saw the bright red blood, turned his head to look at the culprit, jumped up from the ground in anger, and pounced on the red-haired boy:

  "Bastard!!!"

"Shanks, I'm going to kill you!"

Shanks saw Buggy's rage, laughed and dodged Buggy's "hungry tiger pounce", and then began to run wildly on the boat while Buggy was chasing him angrily, laughing and joking:

  "Bucky, you run too slowly."

"You can't catch up with me like this, hahaha!"

Everyone on the boat watched Buggy and Shanks fighting, and the atmosphere of the banquet became more cheerful. Roger was also affected by the mood of the crew members, no longer thinking about the bad things, and joined the banquet with a smile.

Just as the crew of Roger's pirate group was immersed in the happy atmosphere of the banquet, Roger and Rayleigh at the table paused at the same time, looked at each other, and saw some surprise in each other's eyes.

After a while, Roger and Rayleigh stood up, walked to the bow, and looked out at the sea in the distance.

"An old friend has arrived. What a timely arrival! We are having a party!"

Roger said with a sudden smile, looking at the empty sea. Their movements also attracted the attention of other crew members. They all walked over to Roger and Rayleigh, and looked in their direction, but saw nothing.

"Captain, what are you and Uncle Rayleigh looking at?"

At this moment, Buggy and Shanks, who were playing around, also stopped. They squeezed next to Rayleigh and Roger, looked at the sea and asked curiously.

  "Haha, here it comes!"

Just as Roger was speaking, a mast suddenly appeared on the empty sea. After a long time, a naval flag appeared in the sight of the crew members of Roger's pirate ship.

"Navy!!!!" Shanks and Buggy gasped in unison upon seeing the distant flag.

Soon, a dog-headed warship appeared within the Roger Pirates' sights, and Shanks and Buggy couldn't help but exclaim,

  "Hero Garp's ship!!!"

Vice Admiral Garp, the hero of the navy, was no stranger to the Roger Pirates. They had fought Garp dozens of times, yet each time they had managed to escape.

Shanks and Buggy were deeply impressed by Garp, and the reason was simple.

  "Buzz!!!!"

Suddenly, Roger, standing at the bow, widened his eyes. A terrifying aura emanated from him, pressing toward the distant warship.

  Conqueror's Haki!

The calm sea was suddenly rippled without warning.

On the dog-headed warship, Garp stood at the bow. Behind him, Aokiji, Bogart, and Tsugumi Yoriichi stood together, all gazing solemnly at the distant Oro Jackson.

Suddenly, a terrifying aura, like a physical force, surged across the sea, surging towards the men. At that moment, even the air felt heavy.

  "Snap!"

Suddenly, tiny cracks appeared inexplicably in the wooden railings of the bow.

On the deck, the crew members on lookout couldn't withstand the pressure. Their eyes rolled back, and they collapsed to the ground. The same thing happened in the engine room.

The dog-headed warship, hurtling forward, suddenly stopped.

Roger's domineering aura had surprisingly affected the navy aboard ships a thousand meters away.

At the bow, standing behind Garp, Tsugikoku Yoriichi hunched slightly, his right hand instinctively grasping the hilt of his sword. Like a ferocious beast, he was ready to strike.

  "Hahaha, not bad!"

  "You managed to hold up!"

"Yoriichi, soon, you'll see the true might of the sea."

Garp tilted his head slightly, seeing Tsugikoku Yoriichi still standing, and chuckled softly, then flew atop the warship's dog-headed head.

Through the transparent world, Tsugikoku Yoriichi observed Garp's muscles tensing. He stepped into a lunge, his feet staggered, and clenched his right fist. Haki concentrated on Garp's fist, and a dense black lightning suddenly appeared from nowhere, with a terrifying "crackling" sound.

"Roger, I came to say hello!"

Garp grinned, and threw a punch!

A dense black lightning suddenly exploded in front of Garp, shooting out in all directions. The armed Haki that had been concentrated in Garp's fist suddenly emanated from his body at the moment he swung his fist, blasting towards the distant Oro Jackson.

Tsugikoku Yoriichi's pupils constricted at the sight. He had never heard of Haki emanating from the body before, and without needing to attach to an object?!

Isn't Haki supposed to enhance the defense and attack of the body and weapons? And how could it actually leave the body and become a physical attack?!

  "BOOM!"

A muffled sound suddenly echoed through the air, and terrifying domineering energy surged towards the distant pirate ship.

At that moment, Roger, aboard the Oro Jackson, had also sensed Garp's attack. He quickly drew his long sword from his waist and leaped directly to the bow of the Oro Jackson. With a low cry, he swung his sword towards the warship:

  "Gods Avert!"

A black crescent-shaped slash, shrouded in dense black lightning, materialized before Roger's blade, blasting directly at Garp's domineering fist wind.

  "Hum!!!"

Garp and Roger's domineering energy collided in the center of the ocean, a sudden buzzing sound echoing through the air.

Above, where the attacks converged, the sea surface for hundreds of meters sank. Directly above, the clouds split, revealing a vibrant blue ribbon in the center of the snow-white cloud.

Instantly, massive waves inexplicably surged across the sea, crashing towards the Dog-Head warship and the Oro Jackson.

"Wow!" Waves crashed onto the two boats, sending each one hundreds of meters away.

"That Garp guy found us again!"

  "Malmu~ The party's over!"

  "We're about to start—our escape!"

After neutralizing Garp's attack with a divine dodge, Roger leaped back onto the deck, raised his long sword, and quickly gave the order.

The aftermath of Roger and Garp's attacks hadn't yet dissipated, and the sea was surging. Now was the perfect opportunity to escape!

As for a battle with Garp's navy? A direct defeat of Garp—that wasn't even on Roger's mind.

He was pressed for time, and he didn't have the energy to engage with Garp.

Furthermore, Roger knew Garp's strength well. A battle between the two of them would be endless. Regardless of the outcome, time would be wasted.

Such a loss was unacceptable to Roger.

"I don't have time to waste with the navy. I have to live!"

Roger's goal was the text of history, to travel the world, to the Final Island, not the navy.

Aided by the wind and waves, the Oro Jackson quickly launched and swiftly sailed away from the surrounding waters. Though a sailing vessel, the Oro Jackson was the work of Tom, Water City's finest shipbuilder. Its power rivaled that of a naval vessel.

In the blink of an eye, the Oro Jackson had sailed a hundred meters, about to disappear from the sight of the Doghead warship.

Aboard the Doghead warship, Garp watched the Oro Jackson rapidly retreat, a sudden smile breaking across his face. He casually tore off the Cloak of Justice draped around him and, without a word, leaped from the warship.

"BOOM!!!!" A muffled sound suddenly echoed from the seabed.

"Wow~~~~~~!" The next second, a massive wave rose from beneath the Doghead warship, lifting it dozens of meters. The terrifying wave, even after lifting it, continued to rise.

"BOOM!!!!" Another muffled sound followed, and the rising wave, as if pushed by someone, continued to rise.

The dog-headed warship surged towards the distant Oro Jackson.

"!!!!" Tsugukuni Yoriichi gripped the warship's railing tightly with both hands to prevent himself from being thrown out. Yoriichi's face was filled with astonishment, a bit disbelieving of what Garp had done.

His observation Haki clearly sensed that after Garp jumped into the sea, he dived more than ten meters and then punched the bottom of the ship. The terrifying wave that had just risen was caused by Garp. After doing so, Garp quickly surfaced and punched the rising wave again, "winding up" the wave!

This incredible operation was performed by Garp's two fists!

Meanwhile, Garp had moonwalked back onto the ship, clutching the railing with one hand, laughing and shouting at the sailors,

  "Hold on tight!"

  "We're getting aboard!!!"

The huge waves swept the warship, hurtling towards the Oro Jackson.

Roger and the others, who had already escaped some distance, also noticed the unusual sight in the distance.

  "WHAT!!!!"

  "That warship... W-what?"

Buggy's jaw dropped as he watched the warship rapidly approaching on the waves in the distance, stuttering in surprise. The other crew members on Roger's ship also stared in amazement at the rapidly approaching waves and warship.

Even Roger, with his mouth slightly open, covered his head with his hands, exclaimed,

"Garp, this guy is really messing around!"

"Such a talent, it's really a waste of talent to be in the navy."
