Jasmine's POV
I never thought I will see the day I would willingly sit across from Ares Knight in the same war room, same cause, same heartbeat pounding with the same damn tension.
Yet here we were.
KnightCorp's private boardroom glowed in sterile white, walls lined with glass and screens showing financial data that meant little compared to the chaos behind it all.
Ares sat opposite me, sleeves rolled up, focus like a blade.
Grayson Vale had left after his warning the night before… the "hostile investor" was moving fast, he said. Someone targeting both KnightCorp and Duvall Holdings.
Now the boardroom was packed… a few executives from both sides, legal heads, security analysts. But all I could feel was the weight between Ares and me.
He spoke first. "So, you're telling me the investor has already bought up ten percent of Duvall's offshore shares?"
"Yes." I said flatly. "And another five percent of KnightCorp's."
