Chapter 51 - Chapter 51 Awakening, Warning, and the Demonic Invasion!

Chapter 51 Awakening, Warning, and the Demonic Invasion!

Soon, Long Haochen successfully finished his battle.

Ye Ling then led him into the Bright Moon Sub-Hall, where they completed all the necessary procedures and collected the Awakening Stone before leaving.

Li Xin watched Ye Ling prepare to depart once again, reluctant to see him go. After all, two or three years had passed, and she had developed real feelings for this younger brother.

She did not fully understand what kind of feelings they were, but at the core, she simply did not want Ye Ling to leave so abruptly.

Yet, with Ye Ling's promise to return within a month, Li Xin had no words to stop him and could only let him go.

Ye Ling, meanwhile, hurried with Long Haochen and Cai'er toward Odin Town. The Bright Moon Sub-Hall was somewhere he would have to return to eventually.

Leaving aside his connection with Li Xin, the mission to ascend Knight's Holy Mountain and obtain a magical beast mount required the support of the Sub-Hall. Without it, success was impossible.

After all, what knight could exist without a mount?

But that was for later. For now, Ye Ling focused on the tasks at hand.

On the road, Ye Ling pondered deeply. According to his memories, the next events would see Long Haochen awaken his innate spiritual energy, becoming the Child of Light. That was not the true crisis, however.

The real danger would follow his awakening, when countless demon wolves, led by the Wolf Demon God, would launch an assault on Odin Town.

That battle would claim at least half the town's population. Ye Ling did not want such tragedy to occur. With this in mind, he deliberately changed his course of action.

He sought out Instructor Balza in advance, warning him to prepare immediately for a potential battle at any moment.

Though uncertain of the truth, Balza did not hesitate. He gathered all the knights and warriors at his disposal, rallying them together and evacuating civilians toward the safest areas.

This would ensure their safety to the greatest extent possible.

Ye Ling then departed quickly. He had many matters to handle and could not remain to watch over Odin Town, so he needed to resolve other problems first.

With Long Haochen and Cai'er, he left once more.

Soon, they returned to where Long Xingyu was supposed to be.

But Long Xingyu was absent. At Long Haochen's suggestion, since Teacher Xingyu was not around, they should return to his home. His mother's cooking was delicious.

At that moment, Ye Ling suddenly recalled a very awkward and terrifying possibility.

But with Cai'er agreeing, he kept silent, and the three of them went together.

On the way, Long Haochen spoke cheerfully of his mother Bai Yue's cooking, praising it as the most delicious.

Yet, upon opening the door, Long Haochen froze.

Inside, he saw Long Xingyu… and Bai Yue.

Bai Yue was seated on Long Xingyu's lap, the two gazing at each other tenderly, as if they might kiss at any moment.

For the still-young Long Haochen, this was a shocking and terrifying sight. He was struck dumb, unable to process what he was seeing.

His mother, on his teacher's lap, and their eyes filled with affection—it was clear this had been going on for some time.

The instant Bai Yue saw him, though she knew she was not doing anything wrong, she still stood up at once. She did not want Long Haochen to witness it.

But Long Xingyu held her hand gently, preventing her from leaving. He looked at Long Haochen calmly, his eyes speaking words the boy would never want to hear.

At once, Long Haochen gripped his sword tightly and rushed at Long Xingyu. He sought no aid from Ye Ling or Cai'er, for he knew this was something he had to resolve with his own hands.

Ye Ling, who already knew the truth, could only sigh helplessly.

Though Cai'er had not studied the matter in depth, she too understood much. She knew Long Xingyu's true identity and the reality behind all this.

Long Xingyu, Long Haochen… and in such a small place. Their identities could not be more obvious.

"Brother Ye Ling, this…?" Cai'er asked softly, looking at him with a trace of unease.

"There's no need to say too much. When the crucial moment comes, Teacher Xingyu will not harm Haochen," Ye Ling replied with resignation.

The rest soon unfolded as expected.

Long Haochen bit into Long Xingyu's arm, shouting, "Why don't you kill me?"

"Because I am your father," Long Xingyu answered calmly.

The words stunned Haochen.

He turned to Bai Yue, who nodded. He then looked to Ye Ling, who also confirmed, "No matter how you look at it, Teacher Xingyu is your father."

In the end, Haochen embraced Long Xingyu, pouring out all his years of longing and struggle as a son, while Long Xingyu held him in silence, his face filled with endless thought and confusion.

Not only because of his hidden goals, but because of Ye Ling's earlier words—

"No matter how you look at it."

What exactly did that mean?

Later, Bai Yue remained at home cooking, while the others headed for the peak of Odin Mountain to continue with the awakening.

"Haochen, how much was your external spiritual energy during testing?" Long Xingyu asked.

"One hundred and forty-nine," Haochen answered honestly, the value right on the edge.

Hearing this, Long Xingyu nodded and then explained the full code of knighthood and everything that Haochen must know. Haochen listened carefully, accepting it all as he began the awakening process.

"Ye Ling, how high do you think Haochen's innate internal spiritual power will be?" Long Xingyu asked while watching.

"At the very least, under the Light's Protection. At the very most, he will be the peerless Child of Light," Ye Ling replied calmly, as if it were nothing extraordinary.

"Truly?" Long Xingyu was shocked. Such words carried terrifying weight.

"Haochen has already shown the traits of one favored by the gods. His temperament, his adherence to the Ten Codes, even his talent—all of it. So long as he does not touch upon the forbidden reverse scale, he is unmistakably a god's chosen." Ye Ling's words were steady.

"Then let it be so," Long Xingyu murmured with hope. If Haochen truly was a god's chosen, then with three such chosen alive in this age, once they matured…

Would there be any reason to fear the demon race?

"But there is another matter, and it is of grave importance. You must be prepared," Ye Ling added.

"What is it?" Long Xingyu asked in confusion.

"The demon race is preparing a fresh invasion of human lands. And their first target… is Odin Town!" Ye Ling said firmly, without hesitation.

Long Xingyu's face darkened in shock and disbelief. He found it hard to accept.

But it was Ye Ling who spoke the words.

"Is this true? If so, this is a serious matter. The Alliance likely hasn't realized yet," Long Xingyu muttered, his tone heavy.

"They will probably remain hidden until Haochen's awakening provokes them. Then they will strike. We must be ready ahead of time," Ye Ling calculated coldly.
