Selena's POV
Blood dripped from my palm onto the ancient stone as I carved the final symbol. Seven days of secret work, and the ritual circle was almost complete. My old bones ached from kneeling on the cold cave floor, but there was no time for rest.
Not when Luna's life hung in the balance.
"Just a little longer," I whispered to myself, pressing my bleeding hand against the center stone. It glowed faintly, drinking in my offering.
The hidden chamber lay deep beneath our new mountain refuge, far from curious eyes. None of the pack knew about this place except me—and the voice that had guided me here through my dreams.
Since Luna's transformation three weeks ago, everything had changed. The sweet child now housed the spirit of the First Wolf completely, her small body struggling to contain such ancient power. Each day, she grew more distant, her human side fading as the First Wolf's memories consumed her.
Maya and Asher were losing their daughter, piece by piece.
