Maya's POV
My scream tore through the night as Luna vanished from my arms. The silver light that had swallowed her still sparkled on my fingers like dying stars.
"Luna!" I fell to my knees, reaching out into the void where my baby had been just moments before. "Where is she? Where's my baby?"
Aiden grabbed my shoulders. "Maya, we have to move. Now!"
The forest around us filled with howls, not the usual pack calls but ancient, hungry sounds that made my bones shake. Even without my wolf, I could feel the danger closing in.
"The clearing," Raven said, pointing east. "That's where the cult's call came from."
Asher burst from the trees, his eyes wild with fear. "Where's Luna? What happened?"
"She's gone," I gasped, my voice breaking. "She just… vanished. The cult has her."
Asher's face went white, then red with rage. His body shook with the effort of holding back his shift. "I'll kill them all."
"We need a plan," Aiden said. "The clearing is where they're holding the ceremony."
