Chapter 113 - The Alpha's Child

Pain ripped through me as another contraction hit. I bit down on the leather strap between my teeth to keep from yelling. We couldn't risk being found, not now.

"Take a breath, Maya," Luna murmured, cleaning sweat from my forehead. "The baby is coming out."

Outside our secret cave, the dogs howled as the moon began to disappear. The moon eclipse had started.

Three months had passed since we learned the truth about Selene and the prophesy. Three months of running, hiding, and planning for this night. My stomach had gotten incredibly large, the silver lines spreading across my entire body like a live map of moonlight.

"Where's Asher?" I gasped as the contraction eased.

"Fighting," Luna said grimly. "Selene found us. The pack is holding her forces back."

Fear gripped my heart tighter than the pain. Asher had promised to be here. Our baby… our daughter needed her father's strength for what was coming.

"Serena?"
