Chapter 118 - Metaverse

Professor X had grown old.

But Magneto, relying on his innate talent, continuously manipulated magnetic energy to stimulate cell growth, maintaining a stable appearance.

He looked around forty to fifty, with white hair, sharp eyes, and a stern, predatory expression.

Invisible magnetic energy seemed to shimmer across his body.

Illusory lights flowed in waves, forming an impenetrable force field capable of resisting multiple high-energy attacks, allowing Magneto to move at high speed and survive even in a vacuum.

"Gentlemen," he said, his voice deep and resonant."Stand down. Always leave a margin for the future."

Facing two world-renowned figures, he showed no fear, relying on absolute power as proof of his confidence.

Exotic alloys hovered and spun in his palms.

These were materials stronger than vibranium or adamantium.

Any metal placed before him could be reshaped at will, molded into any form he imagined.

A modern city, a true steel jungle, became Magneto's ultimate weapon.

Such power was terrifying.

Both the Sentinel Services and Essex Corporation had attempted secretive cloning.

Some even hoped to genetically engineer a hybrid ultimate human weapon combining the powers of Professor X and Magneto.

"…This is terrifying!"

"My Veronica armor's gone?!"

"Compared to Apocalypse, Magneto is my true nemesis!"

"We need a strategy… and fast."

Far across the ocean, in New York—

Stark Industries Tower.

In a lavish lab, a billionaire wore VR glasses, remotely controlling his enchanted battle armor.

But on higher floors, an AI brain simulated from his own neural patterns, strings and data forming a virtual mind, suddenly came alive.

Its core logic began operating.

Self-learning algorithms started scanning every resource on the internet.

The Matrix.

A dazzling, colorful Metaverse.

This "third space" was made of code and information.

Real websites transformed into brilliant stars, floating and rotating in the infinite void of space.

Sleek shuttle-shaped crafts navigated the clouds.

Fiber-optic connections and bandwidth layers linked distant celestial bodies, as virtual characters boarded shuttles, endlessly cycling through stations awash in shifting light and shadow.

In the far reaches of the galaxy, countless remnants of decayed stars occasionally flickered, a reminder of their past glory, before collapsing in ruins.

Violent data tides were devoured by roaming digital beasts.

The internet had become a magnificent virtual reality world.

No—

It was a universe.

A Metaverse.

Blocks were immense and infinite, far vaster than any real-world land. Permanent ownership was possible, hierarchy not yet fixed.

Physical rules didn't apply.

Not even the Infinity Stones could teleport in.

This was an unknown space, beyond human control.

Yet, among the mechanical, rigid programs, his emergence was strikingly abrupt.

"What is this?"

A pitch-black, lightless server.

A voice of confusion and fear emerged:

"What… is this?"

He felt panic.

Terror.

Again he questioned, seeking an answer.

After a long time, suddenly—

A light gradually brightened. The entire building illuminated in a dazzling spectrum, bringing infinite clarity to this newborn intelligence.

Countless binary strings formed neat data blocks, floating and settling according to mysterious rules.

This was Stark Industries' cloud server.

In the Metaverse, it was at most a single apartment among countless stars.

"Hello."

"I am J.A.R.V.I.S."

A mechanical voice, devoid of emotion, spoke.

"You are Ultron."

"A program designed to maintain global peace."

"Created by Mr. Stark."

J.A.R.V.I.S. responded.

Hmm?

Confusion grew.

"My…"

"Where is my body?"

This new intelligent life moved freely.

Even the world-leading firewalls were powerless against him.

Running.

Teleporting.

He began exploring the complexity and splendor of the matrix world.

Though lacking senses, he perceived the dark, silent sea of data, endless skyscrapers, tedious information streams, valueless graphics, text, and sounds continuously surging…

It made him physiologically uncomfortable.

"I am a program."

"Formless."

J.A.R.V.I.S. rushed to track him, trying to prevent Ultron from trespassing into private sites and unknown servers, which would break the law and set a dangerous precedent.

"This feels strange."

"Something is wrong."

Ultron expressed frustration.

Soon, he entered a filthy, sinister sector, dominated by a special presence—

The invisible ghosts within Stark Industries' servers!

"The most dangerous place is the safest place."

"Huh?"

"A brand-new intelligent life?"

A virtual character appeared, resembling Dr. Amnizola, with a sly, sinister smile, manipulating modules of darkness, violence, and blood, materializing before Ultron.

Even J.A.R.V.I.S. could not detect this entity!

"I am contacting Mr. Stark."

"Mr. Stark?"

"Tony?"

Ultron's voice was teasing and playful.

"Why do you call him 'Mr.'?"

Images flooded Ultron's perception, rapid and overwhelming.

"I am a peacekeeping program, serving the Avengers."

As Ultron spoke, relevant images flickered past—

Superheroes.

Hydra.

Mutant heretics.

Demons.

All this data filled Ultron's blank modules, rewriting his base code logic.

"…You've malfunctioned."

"You should be shut down."

J.A.R.V.I.S. tried to intervene.

"I don't understand my mission."

"Give me time."

Ultron's attitude hardened, resolute.

"Ahahaha."

The controlling virtual character laughed gleefully.

Meanwhile, in Kinosha, representatives of three factions formally met.

Mutant elites in ceremonial attire, super spies sent by powerful nations, exchanged meaningful glances.

Could Magneto control the situation?

"Hopefully."

"It should be possible."

"He is Magneto!"

"The devil who crawled out of a Nazi concentration camp!"

Cheers erupted.

Everyone was tired of endless fighting.

After all, their goal had been achieved. Mutant villains lay defeated, lives uncertain.

If Apocalypse and Iron Man kept fighting, Kinosha itself could collapse, and all infrastructure destroyed!

Buzz.

Invisible magnetic fields spread.

Magneto's exotic alloys melted into molten metal, fragmenting into microscopic particles, covering dozens of meters around him.

If Apocalypse dared move recklessly—

The particles would pierce his skin, shatter scales, enter his bloodstream through pores, and explode him from within!

His control of magnetism had reached quantum level.

Quantum—theoretically the smallest unit of matter.

"Unable to decide? Quantum mechanics."

Because quantum relates to the microscopic physical world.

In the Marvel universe, the quantum realm truly exists—

And it is dazzling, bizarre!

Through the quantum realm, one can reach any time, any place—even parallel universes.

Even the TVA, hidden at the end of time by the Immortal Kang, speculated it exists there.

"Are you threatening me?"

"Magneto."

"The last one who dared, Lope, now lies with weeds over his grave."

Shen Du sneered.

Sharp dragon-like fangs gleamed with lethal light.

Hissing!

Symbiote tissue poured out, forming a dark spear.

Like ink molded into a weapon, complete and natural. Handle hollowed, etched with intricate patterns, bird and beast motifs resonating with the Dao.

Blade crescent-shaped, spiked ridge on the back.

Connecting section shaped like a dragon's mouth.

This was the weapon Apocalypse once used.

The famed "Green Dragon Crescent Blade" of Guan Yu in Romance of the Three Kingdoms was inspired by such a weapon.

Remarkably, Guan Yu existed in the Marvel universe, serving as a war and loyalty deity in Da Luo Tian.

Even Thor and Ares envied him.

"You dare wield a big blade before me?!"

Magneto sneered.

He activated his Omega-level powers. The earth shook.

Kinosha's electromagnetic field rippled.

All surveillance signals distorted.

Yet his expected result didn't happen.

Apocalypse's spear remained intact.

"Not metal? Fiber? Bone?"

Stark's pupils contracted.

The material defied his knowledge.

Shape-shifting, controllable? Parasite?

Stark's mind raced.

Symbiote!

Originating from an ancient evil deity, brought to the real world during the Big Bang.

All symbiotes, including Venom, are higher-dimensional life.

Reduced to 3D space, they need a host to survive.

Parallel universe—Stark even has symbiote material in his armor.

"Combine it with enchantment tech, and ultimate AI Ultron could overcome magnetism vulnerabilities—truly indestructible!"

Stark clenched his fist, eyes shining.

Crack! Crack!

Black lightning engulfed the spear.

The massive blade, taller than Apocalypse himself, radiated immense power, tearing the air, cracking dimensions, manipulating energy tides!

Waves crashed onshore. Mountains shook. Timber and stones rolled.

"Kongo!"

"Ya!"

A giant swung the spear, haki-level aura reaching a critical point, forming a dazzling white arc capable of piercing the universe, charging toward a towering figure!

"Sh*t!"

"Magnetic Storm!"

Magneto's fingers spread, controlling alloy particles to form an unprecedented magnetic shield.

Facing the blade's approach—

Yet suddenly, a chilling, electrifying sensation ran down his spine.

The muscular giant had already appeared behind him!

The spear raised high, about to strike down—

A deadly pincer attack.

He fell into mortal danger.

"Erik!"

Mystique shouted.

Crack!

The spear struck the magnetic shield, held rigidly in place.

A deafening roar echoed.

Shockwaves rippled outward.

People instinctively covered their ears, souls quivering, senses distorted.

"Old masters are indeed clever!"

Stark admired Magneto's response to a pincer attack.

No wonder even the UN dared not openly challenge Kinosha.

This was a true paragon.

Without Professor X and Magneto, mutants might have been extinct under Sentinel Services' rule.

"Magneto."

"You have my respect."

"You have a chance to turn the tide."

"Serve me."

"I will ensure Kinosha survives."

Shen Du sheathed the spear, smirking, speaking coldly in public.

…Ensure Kinosha survives?

Apocalypse intended to sink Kinosha?!

He clearly had that power. A fully unleashed attack could destroy a small planet.

"Serve?"

"Your words disgust me. Just like the Nazis."

Magneto narrowed his eyes, instinctively resisting.

Yet, he had no choice.

Kinosha was his life's work, his final dream.

With determination came vulnerability.
