The next day, Mia and Ryan dressed up and went to a restaurant. Ryan had asked his dad to come so he could meet Mia.
When they arrived, they saw Ryan's father sitting with his mother.
"Hey Mia, how are you?" Ryan's mother asked.
"I'm fine, Mum," Mia replied.
"Dad, this is Mia. Mia, this is my dad," Ryan said.
"Nice to meet you, sir," Mia said, reaching out to shake his hand.
Ryan's father ignored Mia and said, "Ryan, why did you bring me here?"
"Dad, I brought you to meet my future wife. She's talking to you right now," Ryan said.
"That will never be your wife, not that girl," his father said. "Besides, Mabel is back."
"Who's Mabel?" Ryan asked.
"She's the girl I want you to marry. She has been preparing herself for you since she was little," Ryan's father said.
Mia started crying. Her father had just rejected her and already had someone else in mind for Ryan.
She ran out, tears falling down her face.
"The only woman I'll ever marry is Mia. If not Mia, then no one else," Ryan said, leaving his parents behind.
"You're being stubborn. You'll lose him if you keep this up, and it might be too late," Ryan's mother said as she walked away.
Ryan's father smirked, knowing everything was going according to his plan.
