The next day, Ryan woke up early. The elders had sent for him — they wanted to talk about something important.
He didn't know what it was about, but he hoped it wasn't because of Mia.
He quickly got dressed and told Mia he was leaving.
"Mia, I'm going now. If you need anything, just call me," he said.
"Okay, take care," she replied.
Ryan got into his car and drove off. When he arrived at the pack, everyone was training. They nodded at him silently as he walked past and headed to the meeting room.
Meanwhile, Mia woke up feeling full of energy. She quickly took a bath, put on her gym clothes, and went to Ryan's private gym.
She began with push-ups and sit-ups, then moved on to martial arts training. After an hour of intense workout, she was exhausted. She took another shower and then left for the orphanage.
Back at the pack, Ryan was in a serious meeting with the elders.
"Alpha, we heard the king's daughter is missing," one elder said.
"And the rogues are planning something big," another added.
"I'm already working on a way to stop the rogues," Ryan replied. "As for the king's daughter, I'll do what I can to help."
"Alpha, some rogues have been seen in the human world," someone said.
"Yes, I saw them. I killed them when they attacked my mate," Ryan said. "They were looking for something. I don't know what it was, but they had help from a human."
"So now they want to use humans as bait," he added.
"That means they want to expand into the human world," one elder said.
"I think so. I'll find out what they're planning," Ryan said.
The meeting ended, and Ryan left, heading toward the outskirts of the pack.
He shifted into his wolf form and disappeared into the darkness.
