"You should listen to the priest!" Batman's deep voice echoed.
"Bang! Bang!" He pummeled several clowns, sending them sprawling to the ground.
Lin Chen grabbed a struggling Joker and tossed him toward Batman. "The clown's all yours!"
The moment Joker saw Batman, his energy surged. "Batman! Here I come!" he shouted, diving into the fight.
Joker's henchmen tried to fire at Lin Chen, but one by one they collapsed, foaming at the mouth from the unexpected attack.
"Daoist, amazing!" someone nearby shouted.
"I must repay the Taoist priest!" a forty-year-old woman exclaimed, rushing toward Lin Chen.
Lin Chen nimbly dodged her advance, embarrassed. Soon, more than a dozen women surged toward him, eager to express gratitude.
"Monster!" Lin Chen muttered, dodging left and right.
Seizing the chaos, Joker freed himself from Batman's grasp and pressed a knife against Ruiqing's neck.
"Clown! You can't just hold women hostage!" Batman growled.
Joker laughed. "That's exactly what I like! I'll carve a few marks on her face to cheer up Harvey Dent!"
He turned to Batman. "Come on, take off your mask! Let's see if the cute Batman is really handsome."
Lin Chen smirked. "Joker, I know you've got a crush on Batman. Now you want to run off with him, huh?"
Batman shivered. Even Rachel was old enough to understand—this clown's obsession was frightening.
"Haha, Taoist priest, is this the result of your fortune-telling?" Joker sneered.
Batman stepped forward, and Joker fired a shot, shattering the glass behind him. He pressed his boots and edged back.
"Let Rachel go, Joker!" Batman roared.
"Oh, you insist? Very well!" Joker let her drop.
"Ah!" Rui Yang fell from the high-rise window, plummeting hundreds of meters.
"Sorry!" Batman shouted, rushing forward without hesitation.
Joker looked out the window, grinning. "Infatuation is a pity, isn't it?"
Lin Chen shook his head. "Joker, you've been at this too long."
"Hmph, Director Lin, tonight Harley will be widowed!" Joker raised his gun at Lin Chen.
Before he could fire, a silver needle struck a pressure point. Joker collapsed, shivering and laughing unnaturally.
"Haha, I love this feeling!" he cackled.
"Then enjoy it!" Lin Chen quipped, as several police officers rushed in. He waved and headed downstairs, tasks still awaited him.
Down in the garage, Catwoman in her sleek black leather awaited him.
"Finally! You made me wait forever!" she snapped.
"The clown went crazy and threw Rui down the stairs. Too bad you missed the show," Lin Chen explained.
Catwoman patted her forehead, annoyed. "I'd better get down fast or we can grab the jewelry while they're stunned. Those watches and necklaces are worth a fortune!"
Her bag bulged with at least five luxury watches and a dozen pieces of jewelry.
Lin Chen swung onto the motorcycle, wrapping his arms around her waist.
Catwoman leaned forward, trembling. "Wait! I need to ask something."
"Speak! Hurry, I'm holding you!" Lin Chen urged.
Catwoman's voice softened. "What about you and Bruce Wayne? Still... back in the mountains?"
Lin Chen chuckled. "He's rich, but this isn't about him—don't worry."
She shook her head. "He's rich, and he actually has a heart. How wonderful!"
Lin Chen tightened his grip. "No rush. It's nearly dawn."
"Boom!" The two shot out into the alley.
Catwoman pointed upward. "Black Mask's vault is on the top floor. We climb the pipes."
"You go first. I'll follow," Lin Chen said.
"Why do you always follow me?" Catwoman muttered.
"You wouldn't appreciate the view behind you," he teased.
She rolled her eyes but gracefully climbed the pipes. Lin Chen followed smoothly.
At the top floor window, Catwoman peered inside.
"Don't look," Lin Chen whispered, pulling her down. "There's no one in the room."
"How do you know?" she asked, astonished by his sharp eyes.
"I listen with my ears," he said calmly.
"Cheat ghost!" she whispered, incredulous.
Lin Chen noticed something. "Why are they all in the toilet?!"
Catwoman arched her neck proudly. "They were given a heavy-duty potion! They're drunk in there."
Lin Chen scowled. "They blamed me for their diarrhea, claiming I used a demon method!"
Catwoman stifled a laugh and crept toward Black Mask's room.
She immediately approached the safe, listening carefully to the mechanism. Lin Chen inspected the room casually, flipping through papers on Black Mask's desk.
"The safe's cogs aren't making sound," she muttered.
"I heard it. Try another combination," he advised.
"You really are a pervert," Catwoman whispered, but continued.
Lin Chen made a few quick adjustments, and the safe clicked open.
"Only diamonds and a bit of cash. Black Mask's poor," Catwoman muttered.
Lin Chen noticed a red button. "What's this?"
"That's the alarm!" she gasped.
Lin Chen pressed it calmly. The siren blared across the top floor.
Catwoman's face fell. "You idiot! Now the record I never missed is ruined!"
Lin Chen clapped casually. "Big deal," he said with a shrug.
