Lin Chen held up a key."Just leaving so soon?"
Catwoman's eyes widened as she recognized it. "Damn it! When did you take my key? I was stuck with the silk machine and didn't even notice!"
Lin Chen grinned."When you pulled out the black mask key, I noticed a gap… your motorcycle key ended up with me."
Catwoman fished out her car keys."This motorcycle was originally mine! Give me back the black mask key!"
"Nope, I'll go with you later," Lin Chen shook his head and walked away.
"What, are you trying to steal my big fish?" Catwoman asked, eyes narrowed.
"Don't worry, you're my little cat," Lin Chen said casually.
Catwoman rolled her eyes. "Twenty minutes later, I'll grill you downstairs."
At that moment, Bruce Wayne descended from a helicopter onto the top-floor apron, flanked by two glamorous companions.
Catwoman muttered, glaring, "Just like you… scumbags all around!"
Wayne approached Lin Chen."Master, it's great that you could come."
Lin Chen smiled politely."Beautiful women, fine food… thank you for the invitation."
Wayne teased. "Still short on beautiful women, Master? Harley, Detective Jill—they're considered some of Gotham's finest."
Catwoman turned away, pouting. Who does he think he is?
Wayne clapped, drawing attention to the gathering."Sorry I'm late. Where's Harvey Dent? Gotham's star prosecutor!"
Dent and Rachel approached."Wayne, thank you for hosting this fundraising dinner," Dent said.
Wayne nodded."I just want to support justice in Gotham. With Dent protecting the city, Gotham will only get better."
Meanwhile… Batman's Heartache
Lin Chen noticed a man standing apart, gazing at the city lights.Wayne's expression was distant.
"Master, should being a hero be lonely?" Wayne asked quietly.
Lin Chen shook his head."Not necessarily. Heroes behind the scenes often isolate themselves to protect those around them."
Wayne looked downcast."Seeing Harvey Dent and Rachel together… it's hard. She said she'd wait for me."
Lin Chen patted his shoulder."You're the richest man in Gotham, a diamond among men… yet sad for a woman who looks like your aunt?"
Wayne groaned."Daoist, who is my true destiny?"
He rested his head on Lin Chen's shoulder. Lin Chen could only sigh. Even Batman has heartbreak!
Nearby, the scene didn't go unnoticed.
Ah Fu whispered, "The young master is still hung up?! How do I explain this to Master?"
Rachel and Dent were equally confused. Catwoman quickly withdrew, muttering, "So pitiful!"
Even the Joker, watching undercover, was intrigued.
Chaos at the Party
Lin Chen and Wayne's phones rang simultaneously.
"Hey, how did Jill go shopping yesterday?" Lin Chen answered.
Gordon's urgent voice came through."The chief of the general bureau was poisoned, and the judge was blown up by the Joker! His target must be Dent. Be careful!"
Wayne whispered to Lin Chen,"I'll prepare. The Joker hates you as much as he does me."
Lin Chen nodded and moved toward the hall.
To protect Dent, Wayne took him aside and suddenly stunned him. Dent panicked."Bruce… are you…?"
Rachel exclaimed, "Bruce, I choose Dent! You don't have to hurt him!"
Wayne replied, dead serious,"The Joker's coming for him. I need to hide him."
The Joker Arrives
The elevator opened. A dozen of the Joker's men burst in.
"Bang!" Shots echoed from the ceiling.
"Ladies and gentlemen," Joker announced, "I have one question—where's Harvey Dent?"
He began to terrorize guests, taking bites of lobster, sips of wine, and threatening an elderly man."You remind me of my father…"
Ruiyu, with a sense of justice, intervened."Stop right there!"
Joker shifted his attention."Hello, beauty," he sneered.
Rachel recoiled.
Lin Chen stepped forward."Clown, haven't washed your hair in months, have you?"
The Joker froze."Who said that?!"
"It was me," Lin Chen revealed.
The Joker burst out laughing."Didn't expect Lin Dao to appear! Didn't you just do fortune-telling today?"
He pointed at Lin Chen."Harley's not with you? Picking up girls alone? Scumbag!"
Lin Chen calmly shook his head."Don't worry about her. Harley is with me, and I'm very happy."
The Joker raised a knife, sneering."Bought a half-mountain villa recently, huh? So what!"
Lin Chen smiled, observing the crowd."You smell… heavy. Even a woman wouldn't like it," and several women nodded in agreement.
As the Joker advanced with his knife, Lin Chen acted in a flash—he grabbed the Joker's neck and snatched the knife with one hand.
"Joker, tell me the story of the scar on your face," Lin Chen said calmly.
The Joker squirmed."It's too tight!"
Lin Chen loosened his grip."Isn't it because your wife left you for someone else?"
The Joker nearly choked in rage.
He raised his gun. Lin Chen casually pointed behind him."Look, a flying saucer!"
The Joker's men sneered."This trick is too old!"
