Lin Chen chuckled. "How about this — I'll turn around so I don't see which cup you move?"
The Latino guy flared up, veins bulging on his neck. "Don't think I'll believe that crap! Who doesn't cheat people like you!" His odds of winning were about sixty-seven percent — high enough to make him cocky — and he decided to challenge Lin Chen head-on.
Lin Chen turned his back, even pulling Harley closer to him.
"Buddy, I suggest you keep all three cups empty," Lin Chen said lazily. "Cheating only gets you beaten."
The Latino froze. How the hell does this Daoist know everything?
After a short while, he gritted his teeth. "Alright then."
Without hesitation, Lin Chen pointed straight at the cup on the right and placed all his money there.
The Latino guy nearly exploded. His eyes went red, and he stared at the table in disbelief. "Impossible! Impossible!"
Lin Chen tapped his finger on the table. "Come on, pay up. I've got things to do."
The young man rolled his eyes, subtly signaling his buddies to bolt.
But Harley Quinn was quicker — she yanked him by the collar and slammed him against the table. "Trying to run? Pay up!"
"It hurts, damn it! Do you even know who my boss is?! Chinatown Knife!" the guy shouted furiously.
The livestream chat erupted with laughter:
"This Latino's an idiot!""Brother Dao? Isn't that the guy who got green-hatted by the Taoist before?""Brother Dao, in front of the priest, you're just a small knife at best!"
Harley's grip tightened. "I don't care if your dad's the king of Chinatown — you lose, you pay. Rules are rules!"
The two gangsters could only grit their teeth and hand over the money.
Lin Chen picked up the stack of bills with a grin. "Come on, another round?"
"Another round?!" The pair didn't even bother grabbing their table — they bolted down the alley like startled dogs.
Watching their retreating figures, Lin Chen sighed. "Shame, I still had time to play."
The chat was roaring:
"First time I've seen cheaters run away!""The Daoist's luck is unreal!""Those two street rats really picked the wrong guy to mess with!"
Harley Quinn's eyes sparkled. "Master, you're incredible!"
Lin Chen waved her off modestly. "Just small tricks."
Harley pulled out a hundred-dollar bill and walked over to the chubby little boy crying against the wall.
But Lin Chen stopped her, shaking his head.
Harley blinked, then realized, "Ah, right! This little brat deserves a lesson."
She pulled out a ten instead.
Lin Chen stopped her again, flicked out a single dollar, and handed it over. "Here — go buy yourself a lollipop."
The little fat boy looked at the one-dollar bill with pure disdain, then turned puppy eyes toward Harley.
The chat exploded again:
"Master, I didn't think you were that kind of person!""Only giving one dollar to a crying kid?!""Told you, this Taoist's a cheapskate!"
Wonder Woman dropped a message:
"No love! He called me 'Fat Sister' the first time we met. And now he won't even help a kid!"
Superkiller added furiously:
"If it weren't for him, I'd still be studying! He's pure evil!"
Polaris defended him:
"I think the Taoist must have another reason."
Lin Chen nodded approvingly. "Miss Polaris always understands me."
He turned back to the chubby boy, smiling gently. "Your brothers have been gone for ages now, haven't they? They're at the roast shop around the corner — probably halfway through a meal by now."
The little boy's eyes widened, drool forming instantly. He turned and sprinted away.
Lin Chen slipped the one-dollar bill into his pocket. "There, saved a buck."
Harley's jaw dropped. She shook his arm wildly. "Master! Was I just deceived?!"
Lin Chen flicked her forehead with a smirk. "Little dummy, you got it. That brat's a crier — part of the same group as those two crooks. They use him to lure suckers in."
Harley puffed her cheeks. "Ugh! I'm just too kindhearted. My sense of justice betrayed me again!"
The viewers sighed collectively:
"I got fooled too!""Kids these days are little demons!""I never lie!" said the Superkiller, pouting."The Daoist's still amazing — saw through it all.""The Daoist's thrifty — even saved a dollar!""Am I the only one feeling the chemistry between Harley and the priest?"
Later, Lin Chen and Harley bought a few potted flowers to transplant into the garden of the police villa. Lin Chen also picked up some fruit trees to plant in the woods nearby.
Once the area was filled with spiritual energy, the fruits would grow rich and nourishing — good for body and soul alike.
Then his phone rang. It was Pepper Potts.
"Hey, Potts. What's up?"
Pepper's voice was anxious. "Master, I've uncovered Bald Stan's secret! I downloaded his criminal records — he's the real mastermind behind Tony's kidnapping!"
Lin Chen's tone sharpened. "Where are you now?"
"I'm with Agent Coulson from the security bureau. We were going to arrest Stan, but Tony's unreachable!"
"Hurry. Tony's fine for now — did you ask Rhodes to find him?"
Pepper gasped. "Master, how do you know all this? You're amazing!"
"Stan's trying to kill Tony, but Tony's already turned the tables. Don't worry. Just be careful — Stan's got his own Iron suit now. Oh, and I sent you a lucky talisman. Check your messages."
"Master, thank you! Happy said he wants one too!"
"He's built like a tank — he doesn't need it," Lin Chen replied dryly.
After ending the call, Coulson stared at him, stunned. "How does he even know all that? I need to report this to the Director…"
Harley pouted. "Master, you seem to have a pretty close relationship with that little pepper…"
Smack! Lin Chen flicked her forehead again. "You can be jealous of anyone, but come on — you're prettier and have a better figure."
"Really?" Harley's eyes lit up. "Then that's fine!"
They asked the flower shop to deliver everything to the villa and spent the day busy setting things up.
Lin Chen planned to design the garden layout himself — it was also part of the formation he was setting up.
That evening, Jill called. "The Kane case — the wife's murder trial — is set for tomorrow. The Kane family's too powerful, so Dent wants to wrap it up quickly. He asked if you'll testify."
Lin Chen shrugged. He doubted Kane would be convicted, but he'd still do his best.
That night, he went live again — helping a parent track down their runaway daughter. Turned out the girl had taken a train to meet an online "friend."
Fortunately, the guy hadn't touched her — either too cold-hearted or too guilty to act.
Afterward, Lin Chen noticed his merit points were high enough for a lottery draw.
He grinned. "Traditional lottery!"

He stepped out of the shop, focused his mind, and took a few steps forward.
Whoosh!
In an instant, he was hundreds of meters away!
After testing it a few times, Lin Chen nodded in satisfaction. The spell was incredible — though it did drain quite a bit of spiritual energy.
"When I reach Earth Immortal level," he mused, "I should be able to cross kilometers in a single step. That'll be fun."
That night, Harley didn't go back to Jill's. She stayed and chatted with Lin Chen until dawn — leaving him sore and exhausted.
The next morning, after breakfast, they headed straight to Gotham City District Court.
Whether Kane would finally face justice… would be decided today.
