Chapter 9 - Chapter 8: Neutral Psyches

"I'm the one who's supposed to bring her in. Since we both prefer female genders, surely we have a little bit of chemistry," Envy complained with a jealous expression.

"No way!" Pride refused. "I'm the one who will bring her in. Stop trying to make yourself relevant. You're irrelevant. Just watch me." Pride walked to where Lust was sitting.

"Let's go!" Pride grabbed her wrist. "We have work to do." He pulled her along.

Greed put his left hand on his face, knowing what would happen, as he expressed disappointment.

Lust forcibly removed his hand from her wrist.

"How dare you touch me and force your filthy hands on mine!" Pride was pissed off.

"That's my line, you prideful cock!" Lust retorted and adjusted her glasses. "You don't know who you're dealing with, do you, little kid?"

"Boys, get this dirt out of this club!" She ordered some muscled bouncers to get rid of me.

"I knew this would happen," Greed complained in disappointment.

"Get ready everyone, we must make sure we fulfil our mission this night." Six hefty men came running towards me.

"It's been ages since I've fought with a compatible host. Let's do this, guys," Wrath said excitedly.

I split into five, with each emotion possessing my body. I was present in all of them at the same time.

"I will handle these two at the centre. The rest of you can cope," Greed said while pointing at two of the six bouncers.

They started a beatdown — the five emotions against six bouncers.

Wrath, in his pure form, is merciless, as he engulfed his enemy in flames, rendering the victim into ashes, while Gluttony crushed his opponent with rocks that appeared from thin air.

Greed took out his opponents in a flash with his abilities. Envy used her water abilities to suffocate her opponent by encasing him in a water ball.

"That was too easy," Pride said while grabbing his blinded victim by the neck. "Why did Greed get two opponents? And moreover, why isn't that thing dead yet?"

"He's not worthy of receiving my blessings," he boasted. "He's just got blinded. Plus, we're not bound to kill them if we can just manipulate them against Lust."

"More importantly, Lust ran away while we were busy taking our time killing mere mortals," Pride said.

"She can't escape us." Greed bent down and touched the floor. "Although our abilities are not unlocked, we can at least trace her."

His eyes glowed orange, like the colour of his pupils, and Lust's footprints appeared in orange lights.

"Do you all see this?" he informed his teammates.

"Yeah, we all do," Gluttony responded. His eyes glowed blue while he drank some wine from the bar.

"Let's follow her. We need to win her before Love recollects all her memories!" Wrath ordered.

"By the way, this place is busted because of my heat. There are no more clues to find out her ambitions."

"Yeah, all these inferior creatures that were still hiding in this building are cooked up thanks to you," Envy blamed Wrath.

"They deserved death anyway — but not from me," Pride laughed as he said.

"Anyway, let's go back into the psyche environment. We can't stay out for too long now since we're his psyche," Greed said.

They combined into one once again and reappeared as five in my psyche consciousness.

"How did she—?" Greed felt someone's presence.

Just then, a psyche appeared before them — a stray psyche with the name…

"OBSESSION[1]!!" Greed yelled. He was freaked out.

"Don't try to stop us," Greed said.

"I do not have any obligation to obey thee," Obsession said. "At this moment, I do not work for you."

He talked in a crude way. He wore a mask to cover his face and a black long robe with a hood which covered his head.

"Why have five of the original seven sins gathered in one host? Are you still on that hell-bent plan?" he asked.

"That's not your damned business. Get out of our way by getting pulverised!" Wrath yelled.

"Wait, Wrath! It's impossible to fight him. He's a neutral psyche and also stray at that. He is already in his human form," Greed cautioned. "In order to fight him, we'll need his counterpart. Sadly, we cannot provide that."

"Splendid! I expected that from Greed, the God of Information. Oh, pardon, I meant Knowledge. Thanks to you, we psyches have been able to manifest our will through your greed," he praised Greed.

"There is really no hiding anything from you, but right now I'm on a job and you all have to retreat. You should know, like Greed just said, you can't defeat me now — you all lack what it takes. You can't summon a good Obsession, my counterpart. The only ones who can defeat me are the Seven Virtues and Love only."

"Where do all these new psyches keep coming from?" Gluttony complained.

"Love is out of the picture now. I killed her in her human form. Plus, she's a neutral psyche and was also a unique stray like this one. So you're no different at all," Wrath yelled and pointed at Obsession. "If I kill him in his human form, he's just gonna respawn and he'll be out of our damned way."

"You didn't actually kill her. You just manipulated a human into killing her by manipulating your clone in his mind," Envy said to Wrath.

"Ugh! Why am I even listening to you?" Wrath took control of my body and punched Obsession in the face. The impact sent him flying into some of the burning chairs and tables.

"How do you like that?!" He was excited because Obsession didn't expect that.

"Wrath, you never listen to me," Greed complained worriedly.

"Shut the fuck up, man! Why should I listen to you when I'm about to beat the shit out of that crap right now!" He yelled at Greed, who held him by his shoulders.

"Leave me! Let me end this fool!" He hit Greed's hands from his shoulders.

Wrath attacked Obsession, who was still on the floor one more time — but his fist went through him.

"What's happening?!" Wrath asked, confusedly.

[1] Obsession is a neutral psyche. Neutral Psyches as the name says are either good or bad. they are supposedly more powerful than the sins and virtues.
