Chapter 9 - Chapter Eight – Dreams Come True

The sisters could hardly believe their eyes when the family car pulled up to the giant gates. A castle towered in the distance, banners fluttered in the wind, and the sound of cheerful music filled the air.

"DISNEYLAND!!!" Mika screamed, practically vibrating. She hopped out of the car before the engine was even off. "This is it! The promised land! The land of churros and magic!"

"Calm down before you break something," Nari hissed, dragging her back by the hood.

Sayo adjusted her backpack, though her ears twitched with excitement she tried to hide. "We should plan our route. There's too much to see in one day."

Yua's wide eyes sparkled at the sight of the castle. Her tail swished slowly as she whispered, "…It looks like a dream."

Their parents laughed, handing out tickets. "Alright, girls—let's make this a day to remember."

---

The Parade

As soon as they entered, a parade marched through Main Street. Characters danced, floats rolled by, and music thundered.

Mika waved both arms wildly. "MICKEY! HI MICKEY!!!"

Nari groaned. "He can't hear you."

"Shut up, don't ruin the magic!" Mika snapped, jumping on the spot.

Sayo, surprisingly, tapped her foot along with the music. "The choreography is… actually very well-structured."

Yua held her mother's hand tightly, whispering, "…They're real… right?"

---

The Rides

Their first stop was Space Mountain.

"YESSS! Roller coasters!!" Mika yelled, dragging her sisters in line.

"Absolutely not," Nari protested. "I'm not getting on something that flips upside—"

Too late. They were already buckled in.

The ride shot forward. Mika threw her arms up and screamed in joy.

Nari's ears flattened as she yelled, "I HATE THIS!!"

Sayo clung to the safety bar, eyes wide, muttering calculations of the speed under her breath.

And Yua… let out the loudest scream of all, her face pale but her tail puffed like a bottlebrush.

When it ended, Mika stumbled out laughing. "BEST! RIDE! EVER!"

Nari staggered behind her, green in the face. "I'm suing someone…"

Yua clutched Sayo's arm, whispering, "…Never again…" though a tiny smile tugged her lips.

Food Time

They stopped for churros and popcorn. Mika took one bite of a giant turkey leg and shouted, "This is bigger than my head!!"

Nari rolled her eyes, but when she tasted it, her tail swished happily. "…Okay. Worth it."

Sayo carefully divided snacks so no one fought. Meanwhile, Yua held a little Mickey-shaped ice cream, nibbling it with a shy smile.

The Castle

As evening fell, the sisters stood in front of the glowing castle, lights twinkling as the fireworks show began.

The sky erupted with color. Reds, blues, greens—each burst reflecting in their wide eyes.

Mika bounced on her toes. "This is the best day of my life!"

Nari smirked despite herself. "…It's… not bad."

Sayo's usually calm voice softened. "It's… beautiful."

And Yua, clutching her sisters' hands, whispered, "…I don't want this day to end."

The fireworks boomed above them, painting the night sky as the sisters stood together—four tails swaying in rhythm, four hearts beating as one family.
