Chapter 8 - Chapter Seven – Finger-Lickin’ Chaos

It was Saturday afternoon when their father jingled the car keys.

"Alright, girls. Who's hungry?"

"Me!" Mika shouted immediately, tail shooting straight up.

"Where are we going?" Sayo asked, adjusting her glasses.

Their mother smiled. "KFC. We thought it would be fun for your first fast-food experience."

The sisters blinked in unison.

"K… F… what?" Yua whispered, tilting her head.

"It's chicken," Nari explained flatly. "Lots of fried chicken. People say it's good."

"Chicken?!" Mika's eyes sparkled. "Ohhh, I'm gonna eat a bucket! No, two buckets! No—three!!"

At the Restaurant

The moment they walked in, the smell of crispy fried chicken hit them. Mika nearly fainted from joy.

"It smells like heaven! If heaven was crunchy!"

"Calm down," Nari hissed, grabbing her hoodie before she could bolt to the counter.

They ordered a family meal—two big buckets of fried chicken, fries, coleslaw, and drinks. The tray landed on their table like a feast.

Mika's eyes sparkled like diamonds. "It's… beautiful."

"Don't just stare," Sayo said, passing out plates. "Eat properly."

Mika immediately grabbed a drumstick and chomped down, grease smearing her cheeks. "Mmmm—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside! This is TRUE LOVE!"

"Chew with your mouth closed!" Nari snapped, smacking her with a napkin.

But then she took a bite herself… and froze. Her eyes widened, ears twitching. "…Okay. Fine. This is… actually amazing."

Sayo tried hers with dignity, nodding in approval. "The seasoning is balanced. A bit heavy, but enjoyable."

Yua timidly picked up a small piece, nibbling. Her face lit up instantly. "It's… warm and soft… I love it."

The Fries War

Mika reached for the fries. "Mine!"

"Not a chance," Nari growled, snatching the box.

"Girls," Sayo warned, but too late—the two were already tugging it back and forth.

"Give it!"

"No, YOU give it!"

In the chaos, Yua quietly slid one fry after another from the box while they weren't looking, her cheeks puffing as she ate in silence.

By the time Mika and Nari stopped fighting, the box was empty.

"…Who ate them?!" Mika demanded.

Yua looked away, wiping crumbs from her lips. "…Not me."

The Bucket Incident

As the family meal dwindled, only one perfect golden drumstick remained in the bucket.

The sisters stared at it.

"…Mine," Mika said immediately.

"You've already had four," Nari shot back.

"I only had two!" Mika lied, grease still shining on her face.

Sayo sighed. "We could split it."

But before they could decide, Yua suddenly grabbed it, took a big bite, and hugged it to her chest. "M-Mine!" she squeaked, cheeks red.

The table went silent.

Then Mika burst out laughing. "YUA! You savage!"

Even Nari smirked. "Didn't think you had it in you."

Sayo just smiled, shaking her head. "…She's learning from the worst example."

---

By the time they left KFC, all four girls were stuffed and sleepy. Mika waddled out, patting her belly. "Best. Day. Ever."

"I feel greasy," Nari muttered, though her satisfied expression betrayed her.

Sayo handed out napkins. "At least it was a family experience."

Yua licked her fingers shyly, then whispered, "…Can we come again?"

Their parents laughed. "Of course. As long as you don't start another fry war."

The sisters walked home together, tails swaying lazily. Their first trip to KFC had been messy, loud, and chaotic—just like them.

But to them, it was perfect.
